Y’know I understand the impetus behind people wanting to adjust the rainbow for clothes and accessories. Like the full bright ass rainbow is already not the most aesthetically pleasing color choice and then when you add black brown pink white and baby blue it can get a bit jumbled. And for a flag that doesn’t really matter but when you’re trying to make clothes that look good that many colors is certainly difficult to work with. So it makes sense they may want to change certain colors or remove some entirely

However.

I was looking at pride clothes from a certain store and noticed that they had done that exact thing. They looked at the progress pride flag and asked “how can we make this a cohesive garment”. And their solution was fine in theory. Have a few colors to represent the full rainbow and then one color each from the trans flag and the black/brown stripes. Not great but I understand.

HOWEVER.

The colors they chose were the full rainbow. Brown from the additional stripes. And white from the trans flag. Which. Upon first glance, one’s immediate thought process is

Hey wait did. Did this company just add a white stripe to the rainbow flag to represent white people.

So maybe they should get some focus groups on their pride collection from now on
