I remember back when The Mountain Goats No Children was a meme on here seeing a post that went “I hope you live, i hope we both live,” and it making me SO angry…

And this was before I had ever even listened to the song (or anything by TMG for that matter), but now, knowing that John wrote the song, and specifically the line “I hope you die, I hope we both die” in response to radio overplay of the sugary sweet I Hope You Dance, I feel even more vindicated, because like.

Yes. Ultimately my overall life philosophy is that I hope we all live… I would hope that goes without saying. But No Children isn’t a life philosophy. It’s about how sometimes everything sucks and you feel like shit and trapped and hopeless and angry and I HOPE YOU DIE, I HOPE WE BOTH DIE!!!!!!!!! And who can’t relate to that? Who has NEVER felt like that in their lives??????

I feel a little silly accusing what was ultimately just a joke meme post of Toxic Positivity, but that was the vibe I was getting from it, which is why it made me mad. As though it was sticking up its nose at a song it clearly had no understanding of and going “well I hope we both LIVE 😇😇” and like. Fuck you lol. It’s okay to feel negative emotions. It’s okay to be angry.

I guess kind of in between now? I’ve definitely done my fair share of bingeing but now I try to do an episode per day

Love ‘em both but I have to say Gandalf

Really depends. Like I love Magneto and he’s considered a villain plus I have respect for darth Vader and deadpool who is kind of inbetween guy. But I really love batman and Spider-Man and wolverine so…all?

20. Disneyland/World or Six Flags? 
I have never been to Disney world but I have been to Disneyland a few times since I’m from California so I’ll have to say there

I love the ocean but like…I can’t swim, so forest because it’s calm and refreshing and camping is fun

I do love mind powers but I think I’d rather have flying just because it sounds fun and there are somethings people think that are better left unheard by others

Love love love both but I think my blog is pretty obvious in stating my love for Harry Potter

Oh god…seeing as I’ve only ever seen him in like three things I guess Sherlock. He’s insufferable but at least living on the island would be interesting 
26. Train or cruise ship? 
Trains are pretty neat. I don’t really like boats 
27. Brian Cox or Neil deGrasse Tyson? 
Neil deGrasse Tyson bc idk who Brian Cox is 
28. Art museum or science museum? 
Art museum for sure. I’m a sucker for any kind of art and I love spending time by myself ag museums 
29. Irish Pub or Night Club? 
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a night club but it really doesn’t sound like my scene. And an Irish pub specifically sounds a little intense and I like to keep my drinking light so neither really, but if I had to choose I guess the pub 
30. Aang or Korra? 
I still haven’t seen Korra but I guess Aang just because that’s like one of the best cartoons ever created and it was a defining piece of my childhood 
31. Swimming in a pool or lake? 
Again, I can’t swim but I think I’d much rather prefer a pool. It just feels cleaner and more contained (no slimy things touching my legs in the dark) 
32. Classic music or classic literature? 
Classic literature. I’m a huge English nerd 
33. Oxford comma or no oxford comma? 
Don’t really care I guess but I’m a journalism student and they told us not to use it so out of habit I don’t 
34. Digital or Paper books? 
Paper. I really appreciate the convenience of digital and am not opposed to them at all bc I do have an e-reader, but I like tactile books so I can get a few for the pages and the for and the weight of it all. I like stroking the cover and smelling the pages and hearing them turn and all that jazz. Again, I’m a total book nerd 
35. Rainy or Sunny days? 
Rainy days. I was born in the summer so it seems like I should prefer sunny but I live for the sound of the rain on windows and the feeling of those negative ions in the air 
36. Fantasy or Science Fiction? 
Definitely both. As long as there’s some sort of mystery involved, I’m in. 
37. Flowers or Succulents 
Both are wonderful and realistically I should probably take care of a succulent before I take care of a flower, but I think I do prefer flowers.

Betestein and no one can tell me otherwise 39. Peace or happiness? Happiness, because peace sounds more like acceptance and being content. I want my life to be a little more than that if I’m lucky
