Okay we need to settle this once and for all.
Okay this topic has been bugging me for at least a year now. Olga’s birthday in the old Julian Calendar (also known as Old Style or O.S) is November 3rd. This has been confirmed by NAOTMAA’s letters and diaries and several primary sources. Pre revolutionary Russia used the Julian Calendar while the rest of the world was using the Gregorian Calendar (aka New Style) which is our modern calendar of today. The Julian Calendar is 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar so today, November 12th, would be October 31st in Old Style.
I have seen MANY different sources about Olga’s birthday and most say her birthday is the 15th. But the 15th is TWELVE days ahead, not thirteen. Google says 15, so does Wikipedia, AND Baroness Sophie Buxhoevden who was a close friend of the family. At this point I don’t know what to believe but if anyone has any information please tell me!
Thank you!!!
