the insinuation that Wren will not start Prisoners Throne as with the same goodness that she started The Stolen Heir (I wish someone had the wherewithal to fucking ask her what Wren's journey was going to be, then. Does Oak's POV provide her a redemption arc?)

📖 currently (re)reading: the cruel prince, by holly black
yes i'm very late with the reread schedule and only getting to the end of the first book now, but in my defense the last few weeks where very busy and annotating my copy slowed down my reading pace.
it's the first time I'm re-reading this series since I've first read it back in 2020 and it's making me so happy. I can't believe how much it holds up in a reread and I love finding all the little clues for the twist and the revelations from this and the next books. also I can feel my obsession with jurdan coming back, they're everything to me.

I rub my thumb over the stub of my missing finger top, bitten off by one of Madoc's guards, and realize abruptly that if I told Cardan about it, he might understand. Maybe more than anyone, he'd comprehend the odd mingling of fear and shame I feel -- even now -- when I think of it. For all our conflicts, there are moments when we understand each other entirely too well. (Jude, QON, Ch 20)
