Do you ever think about how Michael and Luke both agreed with Calum when Calum said he’d already planned what he was going to say if asked where Ash was in the podcast, before Ashton makes the joke the other two carry on with? The whole band, possibly independently of each other, all agreed to just lie for Ashton if anyone questioned where he was. I love the little jokes we get, but I still can’t stop thinking about Michael and Luke both going “yeah me too” when Calum says he’d already decided what he’d say if anyone asked (and it’s low key funny that Calum evidently decided gaslighting was his solution, make people question who the hell Ashton even is. People: Where’s Ashton? Calum: There’s never been an Ashton in this band, who are you talking about?)
Anon, darling, I had to sit with this ask, because I did think about it a lot. That story has so many layers to just leave you crying in the club. I know no one takes the 2015 Rolling Stone article seriously, but I read that after the podcast because the Christmas shows were right after the dude that wrote it followed them around since he followed them around Michael's birthday, so around November 19 to 23 maybe, since they mention a show they did on November 22 and the first of the shows is December 1 (they did 10 holiday shows in 2015). But the closing of that article is this:
CLIFFORD’S FAVORITE BAND moment last year did not happen onstage, or when they were getting chased, or when their record went to Number One. It was in Milan, when 5SOS asked for five minutes alone during a tour stop, away from its entourage. That’s when Hood started climbing out a window, into the parking lot. The others followed.
“We were like, ‘Holy shit, this is going to be the greatest prank ever,'” says Clifford. “We shut the window and jumped out and hid in the parking lot, and watched our managers go in the room.
“They opened the door and were like, ‘Where did the guys go?'” he continues. “They went in the bathroom, the whole thing. They started freaking out. ‘Holy shit, they’re all gone.'”
“We could have ran,” says Clifford, smiling. “We could have ran far away.”
They were in Milan in 2015 on May 8 and 9 and on November 12. There's a chance this story and the one on the podcast are a month apart. There's a chance they climbed out a window in fucking Italy thinking about running less than a month before Ashton comes up to them and says, I have a ticket to Seatle, I'm out of here. This is something that they all had been thinking about. And the way they were all ready to take the fall for Ashton makes me even more insane because Ashton is the oldest, we all joke he's the dad of the group, but they were all like, we got you, you go is just, yk? Michael had just turned 20, Luke and Calum were still 19, they were kids dude. Ready to gaslight the shit out of their management to give Ashton his break. And they had talked about it enough for Calum, Michael, and Luke to already have a story rehearsed. That's beyond insane.

I have more thoughts about this than I probably should, but I was actually actively thinking about this seeing some babysos sleeping on the bus/van pictures, because one they look too young to be that tired and two all four of them sleep in distinct ways?? I am personally fascinated by cake sleeping, because Luke usually tries to make himself seem smaller when he's not on stage (where he is larger than live, love that for him) but when he's asleep he usually takes up the space you expect someone as tall as him to take (i would provide visuals but I'm on my phone but like the video of him and Calum in the seat of the van where he's taking like 70% of the space or even that pic that you reblogged from me yesterday) and Calum usually sits like he's trying to take as much space as he can (if you look up manspreading you'll find a picture of Calum, true story) but totally curls into himself when he sleeps, and also the way he always has his arms like he's hugging something makes me thing about that interview were malum says they are the big spoon always and lashton say they like to be the little spoon, and I strongly believe it hat Calum is the only one of that will always try to be the big spoon because he looks like he likes to hug things when he sleeps. Also Crystal has provided multiple situations where Michael was the little spoon, so like, babe don't lie you like to be held, it's okay.
Michael asleep is exactly what I expect him to be while sleeping, and by that I mean he's a cat. I'm pretty sure I have a set of Michael sleeping (i do, it's here) he either curls up into himself arms folded across his body or just full on drops his full body weight on whoever is closest to him and that just makes me want to scream if I'm honest, unless the person next to him it's Luke, then they are just there leaning into each other and that's adorable and soft and aaaaaaa. There's not a lot of Ashton asleep content, at least I can't seem to find all that much, maybe that's because he's the one taking the sleeping videos and pics usually, but if no one is sleeping on him he is kinda like a little ball?? And that's so soft considering his usual tired dad stance (What is is with 6 feet something men and trying to be small while sleeping?? Why is that so endearing?? Let me run my fingers through your hair while you sleep please)

Calum !! yes !! my guy is a just curls up around something and it's the sweetest thing ever especially when as u said he's a professional manspreader <3
there's no doubt in my mind michael is a lil spoon, he was totally lying in that interview 💀 and yes he is so similar to a kitten it's almost funny. ( honourable mention to muke cuddling bc 🥺🥺 )
and yes ashton (in rare the photos we have) does seem to curl into a ball and I think when you compare with how he always seems to hold himself it's so- many feelings ykwim

I kinda love that you can search random ass things with 5sos in the front of it and you'll probably get a result. Like "5sos building sand castles" there's a video. "5sos jumping like cavemen" there's a video. "5sos working at target" there's a video. "5sos grooming a plastic dog while desssed as superheroes" there's a video. Telling Him You’re Pregnant (Ashton)
To you, there was nothing scarier than finding out that you’re pregnant. Your first thought was that there was no way in hell anyone or anything that large was coming out of you. Your next thought was your boyfriend, who was off on a world tour enjoying life with his best friends; how could you do this to him? You knew that he would drop everything for you and come home if you told him, but you didn’t want that for him. You left the doctors office with pamphlets and a prescription for some vitamins that your doctor had recommended. You decided that you could swing a short visit to the guys while they were on tour to tell Ashton the news, so the plans were arranged, him being none the wiser of the life changing news you would be delivering during your trip. When you arrived at the airport exactly a week after finding out about your pregnancy your feelings on the situation had changed. You had decided that even if he didn’t want to be involved you would still keep the baby and raise it on your own. It took a couple days for you to finally bring up the subject with your boyfriend, 3 days to be exact. “Ashy can I talk to you? Its serious.” You said as you sat down on the hotel bed wrapped up in your robe after your shower. “Sure love of course, what’s on your mind?” He asked as he leaned forward on the bed to be more on your level. “I’m pregnant” you blurted before you even had time to consider the gravity of the statement. His mouth dropped open as he looked at you “I-Wow uhm, how far along?” he asked and you gladly supplied him the information. You were roughly 6 weeks along. “So that would have been like. The night before I left” he concluded and ran a hand through his hair, you could tell he was panicking. “Obviously it’s going to be a little tough but I think we can do it, I love you and I’ve dreamed of having a family with you, just because it’s sooner than I expected doesn’t mean it’s not something to celebrate,” He continued. You felt like an enormous weight had been lifted off your shoulders, doing it on your own was worst case scenario. You were so excited that he wanted to have this baby with you.
