ok the next time we get an affair-with-a-rich-person book can we PLZ be able to dump the wishy-washy cheater for their hot sibling??

THAT WOULD BE SUCH A FUN MOVE THO, like in the beginning when you're choosing what your LI looks like PB tells you it's a single-LI book but then at the end you can choose the side character (tbh I rly enjoyed dumping my LI at the end of America's Most Eligible)

or at least next time (I RLY FEEL LIKE THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME) go full-tilt unhinged like Queen B so it's at least a different story that doesn't rehash the same themes, like not engaging in an affair even though it's wrong cuz you're in love, engaging in an affair CUZ IT'S WRONG AND U LIKE IT (cheating IRL is wrong I'm not condoning it, I just want to imbibe my fictional stories and be entertained and not just reread the same story over and over again but with different hats)

Tbh I think it's a lil tacky to outright complain about something you got for free. Like it's one thing to thoughtfully critique a flaw, but remember Pixelberry employees need to pay their bills too.

Ok I see ppl saying stuff like "PB keeps forgetting Ahmed doesn't drink blah blah" but like, since he said "I don't drink" when you first go out with him, I just assumed he wasn't drinking every time the squad partied, like I don't think they ever specifically said "Ahmed is drinking an alcoholic beverage" like partying is a recurring event in most Choices books so I didn't think they were gonna remind us that Ahmed doesn't drink every single time they go out

after I caught up on all the available volumes and chapters when I first started playing Choices and had to wait for weekly content, I download a whole bunch of visual novel apps to SaTe My HuNgEr and one of them was Chapters

pretty much every story on there made me feel gross  (upside down smiley) (except the horror one with all the gore and murder wasn’t too bad surprisingly enough lol)

like the romance stories were just Not Cute and were melodramatic and weird, like there are 3 stories where the female MC has a sister that sleeps with MC’s boyfriend, and 2 of those had the MC extremely verbally abused by the sister and their mom like basically shit like: (MC breathes) “UR DRESSING LIKE A SLUT U LITTLE HO YOU’RE SHIT” “I WISH I NEVER GAVE BIRTH TO U I HATE U UR WORTHLESS WHY CAN’T U BE LIKE YOUR SISTER”

AND THAT’S JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG OF THIS qUaliTy CoNtEnT I’m not gonna go on I could write a whole essay

anyway, I uninstalled the app ages ago and hadn’t thought about it in a while until I saw somebody on here say that they wished they kept the RCD Victoria assault the same instead of changing it and I was just like GORL WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE LOL CHAPTERS IS PROBABLY MORE YOUR STYLE

like I like Choices because it’s generally wholesome (and this comes from somebody who also likes things that are very NOT WHOLESOME lol), and when they deal with tough subjects like harassment/abuse, they do it with respect (like in The Sophomore) and not for the “drama”, and I like that PB actually listens to us when we say they’ve gone too far like in RCD

tl;dr Pretty much all you need to know about Chapters is that if Manny was in Chapters, he’d be a love interest instead of a lesson

I'm still mad at Madeleine for yelling at Hana of course I'm not gonna be interested in Poppy as an LI because of how she treats Taylor 😂😂😂

I'll critique books that I thought could use a little tweaking or diamond scenes that I felt like weren't worth the money paid for it but I don't straight up complain about regular books/chapters because PB is providing free content and I think it's tacky to complain about something you got for free.

Even books I didn't enjoy overall still had a few things that were fun or interesting about them; I don't usually just click thru chapters without reading dialogue. Sunkissed, Passport to Romance, Across the Void, even Home for the Holidays had at least one element that kept me engaged.

But I rly want to complain about Baby Bump.

ok so I was scrolling thru the freshman/the sophomore posts and I came across an old post that was somebody venting about all the drama that happened in the freshman book 3 and how generally selfish the LIs were being and they called it “problematic”

and I’m just here like ......? that’s not being problematic that’s just pb putting everybody thru a rough patch for drama??????? the purity culture on this site is so weird like I understand analyzing media and being critical of sexism/racism/etc but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t apply in this situation? like in the end everybody realized they were being dicks and apologized so it’s not like pb was romanticizing abusive behaviors or anything

I guess tl;dr I don’t want “problematic“ to become synonymous with “a plot in a story that annoyed me” on this website just like how “triggered” is used for “something that I generally don’t like”

I guess if anything it just means pb are good storytellers to be able to make readers feel mc’s frustration so intensely lmao
