"Is this a joke?!?!" Rage boiled in each words that left Kunikuzushi’s lips, making the attendee who had just delivered the unsavory news on the other side of the screen jump. He wouldn’t put it past the prince to walk past the screen just to come cut him down. 

“I am the Eldest son of the Shogun, the former heir, & now I’ve been demoted to a marriage pawn?!?!” Kunikuzushi had already risen from his seated position & was pacing about. How, how, could his mother do this to him? Not just to take away his heirdom, but now also selling him off to some random princess of a pointless country? Since when did the Shogun care about relationships with other countries? Much less this ‘Makoto’ place, from what he knew from his studies, it was truly a pathetic place.

“T-The Shogun believes it an ideal place to ally with. Not only a neutral kingdom, but rich in resources. We stand to make no enemies & not endanger Inazuma’s own neutrally.” The attendee try to explain, while hiding the fear in his tone.

“Get. Out.” Kunikuzushi responded coldly, after promptly smashing a vase on the stand near the screen with his bare fist, making his palms bleed. How dare she! How dare his mother do this! She was just trying to get rid of him, wasn’t she?

Oh, he thought it was a joke when he heard it. An arranged marriage, & the one originally meant for his sister? Not just having his birthright as the heir to Inazuma taken from him, but being handed his sister’s leftovers? Is he a prince, or a laughing stock? He wanted the ship carrying him from Inazuma to Mizuho to just sink to the bottom of the ocean.

It didn’t help the few attendants given to him before being shipped off like livestock, would not leave him alone once they did dock on Mizuho land. Peppering away to make him as beautiful & presentable as possible to his future spouse. Man or not, a crown prince was waiting for him!

“Just-” He battered away his attendants with an suppressed, but still obvious fury. “- go send to tell the royal family I’ve arrived. I want to get the first meeting over with as soon as possible.”

A joke. This had to be a joke. At least he thought such when he first heard it, only for the hopes of this all being a tackless prank being washed away in the waves of the Inazuman sea. The sea the prince's ship now currently sailed across. The remains of his sister's arranged marriage, being passed off to him, now that she was elected by the Shogun to be the heir to Inazuma.

Him, Prince Kunikuzushi, the previous heir to Imperial Inazuma, now nothing more then a pawn in political games. It’s in insult.

Avalon? This is where they were sending him? A steam country? This should be a joke. What use was a steam country to the military powerful Inazuma?

Eldest son of The Imperial Shogun, Prince Kunikuzushi of Imperial Inazuma, originally the Imperial Heir to the throne. 

Despite being the firstborn of The Shogun, Raiden Ei, & having all the education fitting for that of a future ruler, his position as Imperial Heir was for some reason given to his younger sister by decree of their mother. The reasons for a shift in succession is unclear, but many rumors float around for a possible motive: such as Kunikuzushi being secretly too ill to care for himself alone, nevermind a whole country, the ‘prince’ being an product of a secret affair between The Shogun & a mystery lover, or even that Kuni might have been cursed by the gods or a hidden yokai. All of these making the prince unfit to serve as the future ruler of Imperial Inazuma.

This embittered him greatly, making him grow cold & distant towards his family, as well as people in general, including his own personal servants & staff. Despite still carrying the natural elegant & noble flare that was rooted into him from his studies in his early years, he seems to care little-to-none for noble affairs, formalities, or even for Inazuma itself.

Royalty AU Inazuman Hierarchy -

Inazuma is the militarized multi-island kingdom, whose Imperial family claim a distant divine heritage to the God of Thunder. A strong nation who long ago closed & enjoyed isolation away from the turmoil of the rest of the world. Priding itself on strength above all else, despite it’s small size, it is a dangerous kingdom to make an enemy out of. The latter of the hierarchy works as such:

The Imperial Shogun - The equal to the Emperor or Empress in this case, their offspring would also be considered the equal to princes & princesses. The head monarch can be called ‘Emperor’ or ‘Empress’, but is typically just simply called ‘The Shogun’ or ‘Their/Her Majesty’. The heir to the throne would be particular referred to as either ‘Imperial Prince/Princess’ or ‘Imperial Heir’ with His/Her/Their Imperial Highness, with other children of the Shogun using the typical Prince/Princess & ‘His/Her/Their Highness’ referrals. Saying ‘The Imperial Shogun’ can also be a method of referring to the entire ruling family of Inazuma, depending on the context. The Shogun has the rights to decide who their successor will be, but in the event The Shogun does not select an heir before their death, rights automatically go to the firstborn son.

The Daimyo - Stations of the Sanbugyou or Tri-Commission in this AU. Also referred to as the Tri-Daimyos. With the Tenryou Daimyo heading military affairs, Kanjou Daimyo heading financial, mercantile & bureaucratic affairs & lastly the Yashiro Daimyo handling management of ceremonial affairs, celebratory festivals oversees the shrines & temples.

The Samurai - Stations of the Inazuma Shogunate, aka the Shogun’s Army, in this AU. Despite being listed higher then the Noble Court, there are those of certain rank & title that are equal in rank to those of the Noble court.

Noble Court - Everyone else of mentionable notice would shoved into this station, such as the International Trade Association, Clans of the Raiden Gokaden & Priest/Priestess of the Grand Narukami Shrine.
