WarioWare Move It! Japanese profile entires part 1

As of today, there are only a few profiles of the characters. These are Wario, Jimmy T, Mona, Ashley, Red, Dr. Crygor, Mike, and Penny. I am sharing what they say to you in English.

Disclaimer: My Japanese isn’t perfect, and I had to look up some of words used. But I’m confident 95% of this is correct!

President of the very great Wario Company

WARIO

Fandom Thought Entry 1

(ha ha get it? Cause it's like random but for an established franchise? ...anyway this one's about Warioware.)

There are a lot of good character dynamics in this series, but one I really like is Ashley and Red. At first I chalked it up to contrasting personality traits, with Ashley not being afraid of anything and Red being afraid of almost everything. Yeah it's simple, but I think it's a funny reason for the writers to make them a duo.

Then one day I thought: What if there's more to it than that? What if these specific character traits do more than play-off each other comedically?

Because when you notice the stuff Ashley does in some of the games, she can be pretty reckless. Making a plant monster big enough to break the roof of her mansion in Smooth Moves, trying to visit an eerily dangerous world in Game and Wario, her obsession with a plant that can kill you if it cries in...multiple entries, but lets say Gold for the sake of simplicity. Despite the life-threatening level of danger these choices put her in, Ashley isn't afraid of making them at all. While she does need to be fearless to some degree, this amount of it would get her in serious trouble if she encounters the wrong threat. It is, by my accounts, a weakness that she can't overcome by herself. In a similar vein, Red's weakness is that he has too much fear, even for things that aren't dangerous. There's a specific example on the new Warioware website, but he's generally been characterized as a scaredy-cat for most of the series. If Red was living on his own, I personally can't imagine him doing much out of fear. Likewise if Ashley was on her own, I can't imagine her being cautious enough to avoid getting hurt due to her lack of fear. So when they're together, intentionally or not, they can accomplish more because of their personalities along with their physical abilities.

Is this definitive proof that the dynamic is real? No. Does that matter? No. I don't think the team that works on Warioware had this in mind when they made Ashley and Red, but I talked about it anyway because I think it's cute. I like the idea of these two helping each other out like this. I like the idea of Ashley helping Red with his irrational fears, while he helps her stay cautious in dangerous moments. Not a deep or lore-heavy head cannon, I just think it's neat.

🎃Inktober of 2022 - Day 9: 🧙‍♀️Witch

🇵🇷Me: There’s a bit of changing plan as I continue on this year’s Inktober. At least this is what I’m going for when picking the right one. For today’s Inktober art share, I’ve made this fanart for 🧙‍♀️Ashley and 😈Red from the Warioware franchise. They’re not bad once you’ll get to know them….unless Ashley can cast spell to turn into a 🥄spoon. Yikes! As a good fan for Nintendo games, I do remember when playing its DS title years back (Link Here) before lost it unfortunately. Aside that, its cool when getting to know Ashley and Red’s first debut appearances before becomes well known for fans; especially for some reason wanted her to be in Smash Bros. games. That’s a guess, but its something. Anyways, hope you’ll enjoy this post that I got. Though don’t worry as I’ll be back with the costumes for my OCs or any cartoon characters to keep track. 😉👍 BTW, I’m more into Red’s previous old design than the latest one.

red is an imp, not a demon.

a rant by me becuz im sick of hearing people call him a demon.

people (specifically my parents and a few friends) call red a demon. but im here to prove to you!!! he is not!!!!!! a demon!!!!!!!!!!!!

first of all, his appearance. this one should be obvious. he. is. SMALL. im talking MAYBE kat or ana's height. i doubt hed be any taller than lulu, if he really was a little taller. and wouldnt a demon look more lopsided and/or deranged? he looks mischievous, but you can tell he wouldnt deliberately try to hurt or kill people. and dont get me wrong i love red, but those little wings can only carry him so far. plus, a demon would look more menacing than the cutesy and friendly look that red has.

that leads to my next point—his personality. if he were a demon, he would be way more open to hurting people. yet as far as i can remember, the worst hes ever done is in touched when he tries to capture orbulon for ashley. he didnt even do it for himself, he did it for the cold witch who is his best friend. if he were really a demon, half the cast could be dead by now. and i think we all know the team behind warioware wouldnt do that. imps are usually associated with tricks and being troublemakers, but arent going out of their way to kill people. plus the warioware team would want to make likable characters, and a straight up bloody demon wouldnt do.

for those who are thinking, "but what about his character screen in get it together? hes described as a demon!" in other games and across multiple sources hes described as a "shapeshifting imp". with how warioware is almost constantly changing, id say it was probably someone different than usual who wrote the character screens, at least reds. its clear that more often than not hes described as an imp rather than demon.

if red were a demon, i think he and ashley wouldnt be on good terms. i think hed probably be trying to hurt ashley, and be much less obedient than he currently is. plus, he would be braver. hes outright described as a "scaredy-cat", so thats not very demon-like off the bat. and he works very well with ashley, always doing as she asks. hes also constantly around ashley, showing his loyalty to her. would a demon be that considerate and obedient? probably not.

my final point? look at that little face. does he really look like he could do wrong?
