“It’s your eye in the sky, so to speak” you said, holding the small drone you had been tinkering with before he had walked into your office. You animatedly showed off the newest toy you had been tinkering with, pointing out the features you had added “it has the capability to record and store six hours of audio and video. I’m working on the signal range to extend…”
Price reached over the desk and turned off the screaming you called music that was blasting through your computer speakers “I’m not taking some flying toy into a war zone” he said with finality. Laswell’s recommendation be damned, he didn’t need some little dolly bird tottering around the base in ridiculous shoes telling him how to run his taskforce.
“Oh ok, so will you be letting Gaz know you’re planning on pitching him out the side of a helicopter again to run surveillance or am I?” you say, casting him a smirk over your shoulder as you place the drone on the shelf behind you. Price groaned and rolled his eyes away from you.
You were the newest addition to the taskforce, at Laswell’s insistence, she claimed you were the best intel operative she had encountered in years. She had pulled a few strings and called in some favours with the higher ups that Price could only fantasize about knowing to get you after you had saved their arses with some quite impressive hacking skills.
To say you weren’t what Price had been expecting was a massive understatement. The day you were introduced to the team, you were all bright colours and sparkles in a sea of soldiers. Hardly military issue, as you arrived on base, you had poured your soft, rounded curves into that dress. A wiggle-dress his mother used to call them, and ridiculously high heels. The sight of you made his mouth water and his hands itched to feel your soft skin and overflowing curves. Soap and Gaz took to you instantly, bestowing you with the callsign Tink because of your love for tinkering with random projects or Tinkerbell according to Soap, Ghost took a little longer but your preference for a proper cup of tea and non-judgmental attitude towards his unwillingness to show his face quietly won him over.
The only one you hadn’t bonded with was Price. You butted heads and frustrated each other. Trading snide comments and jabs. Price did appreciate the fact that you kept a jar of sweets on your desk that you made an effort to keep stocked with his and the lads favorite treats and he had to admit that, Laswell was correct, your hacking skills were second to none.
Price watched as you spent the first three weeks of your time on base bringing in new trinkets for your small office. Candles, figurines and a small cactus that Soap didn’t notice until he sat on one day. You admonished him for weeks until he brought you in another, non-spiky one. “I’m sorry, Tinkerbell, forgive me?” he’d pouted, holding out the small succulent towards you. Your office was an explosion of colour like you, and there was always music playing, you’d even created a playlist with Soap and Gaz.
But…on more than one occasion not that he would admit it, Price found himself in his office late at night surrounded by the cloying scent of artificial strawberries from the candles you preferred to decorate your office with that seemed to follow you around, with his hand furiously fisting his cock. Your bratiness was like catnip to him. Every cheeky little sass you threw his way made him harder than ever.
You yourself, never thought you would be one to enjoy it when a man yelled at you but with Price’s gravely, low voice and the sheer broadness of him…damn...you couldn’t count the nights you spent with the absolutely non military issue neon pink vibrator between your legs imagining it was Price instead, his booming voice echoing in your ears as you came. You scoffed “god, I bet you couldn’t last one day without controlling everything”
Price leaned forward, open palms resting on the desk in front of him, staring down at you “try me”

You can’t tell who made the first move as your hair was wrapped tightly in Price’s hands as he pulled you against his lips in a heated kiss. He groans deeply as your teeth nip sharply at his bottom lip.
“That dress looks divine on you” he smirks, pulling away from your lips breathing heavily.

“How easy is it to take off?”
You smirked, turning your back towards Price, moving your hair over your shoulder and glancing over your shoulder at him.
Price licked his lips as his hands slid slowly from your waist up your back. His hands made quick work of the zipper as he slid the dress down over your shoulders, placing a gentle almost loving kiss between your shoulder blades.
You turned to face him as you dropped your dress to the floor. You felt exposed as Price’s eyes raked over your near naked form.
Price couldn’t take his eyes away from you. The lacy navy coloured lingerie hugged your soft, rounded curves perfectly. Your eyes locked with his as he dropped to his knees in front of you.

The soldier turned to Ghost, who was scanning the room with his blackened sockets. The table he sat in front of boasted a large chess board, it’s black squares stained a dark brown. The room quieted as his eyes landed on Nerve, flashing a cold gaze.
“Rookie.”
A cold sweat engulfed their face, their palms sliding against the inside of their gloves as they shot a nervous look to Soap, who’s wide eyes shared the same expression of horror. They shakily got to their legs—a newborn fawn in the dead of winter—and took long strides until they found themselves above the seat opposing the Lieutenant. Pulling the seat back, their eye caught Price holding his hat against his chest solemnly, and Gaz with his head in his hand refusing to watch the bloodbath. Roach sat horrified. Where was Soap?
If there was one thing Soap had taught them, it was that Ghost was not to be fucked with when it came to chess. The man was a monster, remaining undefeated for years. If you happened to be new, it was waiting for the guillotine to slice your head off your shoulders when he took out the pieces. Rookies got sacrificed first.
Cold hands grasped the young soldier’s shoulders, calmly massaging the crooks in them. Soap’s. As if they were in the corner of a wrestling rink, with a one way ticket in one palm.
“Your move.” Amusement flickered in his eyes.

It had been 3 hours.
Ghost sat with his bunched up knuckle supporting his face, elbows resting against the puffy plastic of the fold-up table. 5 white pieces sat on his end, all beaten and bloody soldiers protecting their queen. Nerve’s browned black army held a plentiful 13. The sunset light no longer drowned the room orange, the outside now a stark pitch black compared to the harsh artificial light of the lightbulb hanging from the ceiling of the grey storage room.
Gaz had left 2 hours ago. Soap 1. Price sat with his hands folded under his nose, shielding his mouth, staring intently at the battlefield. Roach sat next to Nerve, in the same kind of terrible fold-up, his head slumped upon their shoulder. The harsh metal of the chair combined with Roach’s weight bit into their back, but they couldn’t forfeit now. Their mesh mask was pulled down to their chin, hugging it tightly to reveal all their features, including a large scar across both sides of their mouth. A scar that Nerve had never explained, nor had Ghost noticed before.
Whenever Ghost’s eyes would stray from the board, it seemed he had less pieces than he thought. Either he was seriously sleep deprived, or Nerve had already moved.
Ghost shakily moved his king forward, as any cat backed into a corner by a mouse would. Save your strongest move for last.
Nerve’s queen stood proudly at the battle line, shoving her feet into the soil to hold her ground. With a precise leap, Ghost’s king was compromised. He slammed a fist into the table, mumbling out a ‘Fuck!’ which shook Roach from slumber, attempting to rub his eyes through his goggles.
Nerve held out a hand, which Ghost angrily accepted and shook. His eyes pierced into theirs, a smug grin plastered across the kid’s face that he swore he could rip right off.
���How’d you do it, new kid?” He grumbled.
His eyes starkly widened, revealing the whites of his eyes as Nerve spat white chess piece after white chess piece from their maw. They slammed the pile of spit and pieces against the table, and then lifted themselves off the seat as they pulled their mask back over their nose.
“Think outside the box, lieutenant.”
“But you didn’t play it right. Those aren’t how the rules go.”
“I won, didn’t I?”
Ghost sat staring, not particularly at anything as they left the room. Price chuckled.

I’m reading back over my subterranean fantasy/D&D setting of Osh Derrinalina, the Land of the Lightless Sea, and you know what? It still makes me really happy. It’s a whole bunch of city states, island nations and fungal hinterlands focused around an 80 mile long, 40 mile wide abyssal sea 6 miles down under the surface of the world, and it makes me happy.
Some highlights:
The oldest people to call the sea home are a race of midnight black translucent bioluminescent abyssal merfolk that were inspired rather strongly by black dragonfish (Idiacanthus atlanticus), because I just really wanted some terrifying abyssal mermaids who are actually quite friendly. Also the image of a subterranean pitch black sea where bioluminescent mermaids live and trade.
The second oldest people are a race of pale bioluminescent spider people who powerfully believe in community, because if I’m making a subterranean setting, by god I’m getting all the mileage I can out of bioluminescence.
There’s also a tribe of pale goblins from the island of death that tattoo themselves with phosphorescent fungal ink from a vast, possibly sentient pit into the realm of the dead. They’re also pretty chill guys.
Half the sea is fed from a vast fungal forest on a shelf around the cavern, at the center of which stands a vast and sacred mound of bat poop that provides 90% of the fertiliser and protein for the nations of the Lightless Sea, and the price for killing one of the sacred bats is death in half the cavern. This is because I watched a David Attenborough documentary one time about cave ecology that featured something similar, and it’s the sort of image that sticks with you.
The main cities of the sea are Ysea, the city of black stone and bioluminescent spider silk that is the primary home of the spider people and the main trade hub of the region, Durgenrath, a clifftop dwarven trade port further down the sea, Muarra, the unfathomably ancient merfolk capital that covers 50 square miles of the sea floor near Ysea, and Tchorit, the glowing crystal stalactite city on the ceiling.
Ysea and Muarra started trading thousands of years ago when the abyssal mermaids came to the black stone shore to trade, and the spider people went underwater in return in diving bells made of their luminescent silk, because I was inspired by the diving bell spider, and it’s such a fantastic fucking image. Pale spider people being towed into the black depths in webs of luminescent silk by translucent abyssal mermaids. I wanted it. I wanted it so bad.
Tchorit is an industrial hub city and was made by ceiling gnomes who call themselves Starbuilders and who are currently in what is essentially a religious cold war with the merfolk over bringing light, in the form of crystal luminescence, to the sacred darkness of the Lightless Sea.
They are also in a cold war with the ancient shadow dragon of the northern wilderness of the sea over the same issue.
The gnomes have made a lot of enemies and are basically the most contentious inhabitants here, in other words.
They are allied with the dwarves. And with the crystal elementals who taught them how to grow luminous crystal cities in the first place. So there’s that.
There’s a secret path somewhere above the cavern roof that leads back to the crystal home caverns of said elementals, and it is ferociously defended. If you haven’t seen pictures of real life crystal caves, you’re in for such a treat. No subterranean fantasy setting would be complete without whole caverns full of vast white crystals, so I made them glowing crystals, because yes, we’re still getting all possible mileage out of subterranean luminescence.
The dwarves have a much less secret, though no less defended, passage from Durgenrath through the stone to Durgendelf, a dwarven city in its own cave that is famous for its artificial suns, because I really, really, really liked that element of Blackreach in Skyrim. Durgendelf has six massive artificial suns, and Durgendelf dwarves are famous farmers and gardeners as much as miners and tunnellers. So they also have a happy friendship with the mushroom people of Derrinalina’s fungal shelf.
The above-mentioned shadow dragon has a very friendly relationship with the above-mentioned cheerful death island goblins, and regularly goes on religious pilgrimages to the island’s temple town to pay his respects to the impossibly deep dry well into death at the centre of the island.
This pit into death is one of two in the Lightless Sea, though the other is underwater. The merfolk commend their dead to the Fathomless Delve, a gaping underwater chasm with an upcurrent that only allows the merfolk dead to actually sink. The merfolk believe that this upcurrent is where all the waters of the sea originate.
The gnomes, on the other hand, believe that the waters of the sea come from the massive fucking waterfall that pours from the ceiling above the northern half of the Lightless Sea, all the way down from the seas on the surface miles above. This titanic waterfall is slowly but surely tearing through the ceiling on that half of the cavern, and has eaten a massive pit in the sea floor below it as well.
It is also possibly the origin of Zarathea, the Lightless Sea’s legendary albino (or possibly undead) dragon turtle that drifts around the wild, black, uninhabited northern half of the Lightless Sea, occasionally pretending to be a rocky island to fatally surprise sailors. One of the theories is that Zarathea fell through the waterfall from the surface seas as a baby dragon turtle. Or, given how weird it is, possibly it’s a native of the Lightless Sea. Nobody knows, and the shadow dragon at the very least would very much like to.
The massive waterfall, if it does finally collapse the ceiling on the northern half of the sea and dump the entire contents of its higher reservoir into the sea at once, could well cause a massive tidal wave that would destroy everything closer to the sea’s surface than Durgenrath. The gnomes, despite living on the ceiling, are extremely worried about this. The spider people and death goblins, despite living directly on the shore, are not. Whether that’s blind optimism or they know something the gnomes don’t is anyone’s guess.
I said the Lightless Sea is 80 miles long, but the northernmost reaches of it haven’t actually been discovered yet by anyone from the southern end of the cavern, so the exact extent of the northern shore isn’t actually known. And the sea floor on that end of the cavern goes deep, and stays going deep, a vast sloping descent to the north. There could be just about anything down there.
I had so much fun with this setting. Also, worldbuilders note: watch nature documentaries. And history documentaries. Just history and nature and geology and science and archaeology in general. There’s some really cool and inspiring shit in them. Our world is really weird and really cool, and I promise you that a lot of fantasy worlds are nearly boring by comparison. Pick one really weird little thing, bat dung, or spider diving bells, or bioluminescence, and build some funky societies around them, it’s so much fun.
I am still so proud of this setting. I love it.

Mmmmmm post sleep Tennocon Rambles under the cut
Ofc because I just started vet school last week (yay) I couldn’t attend in person. Really sad I couldn’t attend because I’ve always loved it when I went to the 2017 and 2018 events. Had to watch the stream, but it look like from pictures everyone had tons of fun and I’m glad it was a success. Next year, please let it be closer to the middle of the summer akdjejak
Art panel, the highlight for me as always as an artist myself. Really cool to see all the concept works from way back in Dark Sector. I’m so sad the art book was so expensive and sold out so fast, but I hope this means they can be inspired to do a reprint in the future (maybe when food expenses arent draining my bank like a whirlpool….) The new upcoming concepts I can’t say I’m a fan of all too much. Grendel is my most hated frame but the boar is a cool inpiration for him. I personally think the game is very oversaturated with Liger concepts, so as per most Liger deluxes Sevagoth wasn’t my cup of tea. They designed the frame, why not have someone else take a shot as his deluxe? I didn’t catch who designed Yareli’s bu that one was interesting.
And….. the Heirloom skins collection. They’re pretty. I though Mag’s was for Nova and got too excited for a bit. And as a Frost main I’m always glad for more content containing him, hell I squint at his skin because it has a few elements that are strikingly similar to my Deluxe concept for him back in 2021. But. The price. I want to buy it, but this entire collection pitch is exactly what Digital Extremes has vow to not do in all 10 years with their fair free to play model, and this sets a very bad precedent if it were to continue. $90 USD is too high of a price for a pack of skins marketed as being in celebration of 10 years, inflated artificially with the Regal Aya. A pack of 6 (with an extra bonus, making 7 total and 400 platinum) is $40 which means everything in the second tier pack is only $30. The same price as the low tier. The only new thing the skins intoduce are the Signas, which are cool, but I gesture to Kaithe coronets. The skins have no new visual effects for abilities, no new animations, not even new idles like recent Deluxe skins have. Rebecca used the word “prestigious” for describing the pack. And I beg her to NEVER use that word again for cosmetics. Prestigious content is a very slippery slope. Take the Prestige skins from League. Because of those skins Riot is now thinking they can make a variant recolor of a very old Jhin legendary and mark the price up to $200. Warframe doesn’t need that. Not to mention the FOMO. The Heirloom pack is gone at the end of the year. Even past Prime Access comes back in Resurgence after a few years. Nightwave brings back old items from past story events. The only thing that has never returned was the Founders Packs, for a good reason. The Heirloom collection feels like a rehash of the Founders marketing in the present state of them game where it’s most likely not trying to stay afloat. FOMO has never existed in Warframe, and it shouldn’t be added now.
Don’t even get me started on that 10 year Accolade in the packs. Accolades have usually been for people who made a notable contribution to the game. Founders, Closed Beta testers, Creators. All of them have some sort of impact on the game be it keeping it afloat in the starting year or contributing to the Community. Now a shiny sticker can be added to any account for as low as $30. I’ve been playing the game for 8 years. I’m not a ‘10 year supporter’ yet. The wording itself insinuates that to supoort the game for a decade, you need to pay. That Accolade should have been something added automatically when your account turns 10 years old.
Overall I’m extremely disappointed bu the Heirloom marketing as it stands. Will I buy it down the road? Chances are high when I’m not bleeding for food with school going on, which is at the very end of the year right before it goes away cause I also give into FOMO. DE has adjusted their strategies before, and I hope they do so now. But this has already set a bad first impressions for any future Heirloom content.
Anyway, rant over on that. Sound panel was cool. Always cool to hear how specific sounds are made like Kullervo. The Heirloom debacle kinda soured my mood for a bit, so I focused more on studying my classes and then went shopping with my roommates.
Came back a little late to TennoLive, probably halfways thru the Soulframe demo. From what I saw I really like the whole concept and thematic. The little turtle guy is so cute. Excited to see more of its development and eventually play it.
The Warframe aspect I had more range of feelings. Whispers in the Wall looks really cool and I’m excited for exploring what the fuck Albrecht is doing. I love how its expanding Deimos more, instead of adding another island and button to navigation. It feels like it’ll require the New War to access, since its all based around the aesthetic of the Man in the Wall seen at the very end of the quest. I’m very interest in the human Loid (best design from Liger since Nezha Empyrean imo). I hope he gives more insight into the attitudes of the Orokin since he is 99% likely from before the Old War.
And… Warframe 1999. I got sucked into Warframe because of it’s unique spin on fantasy sci-fi. And throughout the 8 years I’ve played it’s stuck to its aethetic formula to a T. Seeing CRT monitors and Nokias along with Entrati designs, the modern sci-fi elements and callbacks to Dark Sector makes it feel out of place. Blasphemous almost. But, I’ve had this feeling before with Duviri. I had reservations as to whether Duviri would break the Warframe Universe as we knew it. But DE made the Paradox make sense, and the aethetic language of the world fits perfectly into the formula. I absolutely love Duviri. I need to see more and play 1999 in order to feel how it connects to the Origin System and Duviri as a whole, be it the very distant past (and being born in 99 myself makes me…. Haaaaa) or a parallel universe connected by Void Fuckery(tm). But seeing how Duviri played out I have no real doubts DE won’t pull it off again.

Magic 30th Anniversary Failed

While most people ignored WotC’s biggest cash grab in 30 years, the remaining curious parts of the community were rewarded with what has to be one of the biggest conspiracy theory:
Did Wizards of the Coast purposely cut the release window of Magic 30th Anniversary to save face? Much less create more artificial scarcity to an already artificial product?
In my mind, they absolutely did. Totally and without any remorse.
Not just for customer “goodwill” for the brand, but also to save the “collectable” aspect of their printed products. WotC has more to lose if Magic 30th Anniversary “sold out” in a few day than a few hours. Since the vast majority of orders occurred within the first few minutes of the product’s launch window (as do all their products online); WotC most likely saw next to little actual activity after the first 10 minutes. Sure, there were probably a few hundred bots set up to mess with cart and waiting queues, but nothing catastrophic like a DDOS attack.
You have to remember folks, Wizards of the Coast is under a lot of pressure after Bank of America gave a scathing evaluation of Hasbro’s stock. Not just for funny business for cooking their books, but the fact that WotC is sitting on millions and millions of dollars of unsold inventory of cards/merchandise. It’s not like these cards can be shipped and sold to down to other lesser chain stores, like ROSS or Five Below. Magic 30th Anniversary was their Hail Mary for quarter 4 earnings. It was suppose to stabilize what was already considered a bad year for Magic the Gathering.
So what happens now?
It really is up to you, the player base. You already have WotC employees telling every single customer to not buy every product to avoid burn out. To be more selective of what products you engage with. Obviously, very poorly worded in business to accuse your customers to be so dumb that they keep buying everything...
Which doesn’t surprise me how they’ve been focusing so hard to market their products to mentally ill/challenged parts of the community. It’s not even an open secret anymore that a lot of video games and mobile services solely focus sales to whales and/or create an ecosystem of their products to be addictive as possible. A lifestyle some would say in corporate pitch meetings. This is why Secret Lairs have been so successful. Not just by the fear of missing out in small windows of availability, but also the elite status of being a MTG mega fan! The sunk cost of your commander/EDH alone is nothing compared to another $40 upgrade of foils next paycheck...
For me, I hate to say it, but I’ve been done with the game since Modern Horizons 2. I used to love playing Modern/Legacy, where old cards can find new life after rotation. Where you didn’t have to constantly spend money every set just to stay relevant. Who doesn’t like owning a deck and keep in their closet for a few months or years, knowing they can just dust it off to a big Magic event or some old friends dropping by?
Instead, these old non-rotating formats did get rotated and through blunt force of power-creep no less. You can’t really have the same experiences like you did when cards are created solely to sell you new boxes/cases of cards. It was not like this before in non-rotating formats; good cards trickled in the format, not by power creeping everything around it. It’s really insulting to downright malicious towards it’s own customers when these boxes/cases are almost quadruple than their old counterparts.
I don’t really see Wizards of the Coast or Hasbro correcting any courses... maybe adjust lower print runs and make actual collector products collectable again... without artificially pricing them at stupid prices. One thing is for sure though. We won’t be seeing anymore blatant cash grabs of $1,000 official proxies anytime soon.

Was bored today and decided to listen to the negative ion accessory guy at the Mall's sales pitch. Now I'm gonna go home and do research into how much of that is based in real science and how much of that was placebo effect/power of suggestion used to sell over priced chotchkies. Was wondering if you had an opinion on the matter since it'd be interesting to hear if so. Fell free to ignore and I hope you and the wife are having a wonderful day
Hmm well it is true that our bodies undergo ion exchange with the earth in the absence of modern hindrances such as artificial floors and shoes, but I am not familiar with any primary literature on whether this confers a significant health benefit, if such literature exists. I have read opinion pieces and watched some videos on it, but I haven't sought out anything like randomized controlled studies, mainly because it falls just below a threshold of interest for me to deep dive.
My opinion? It is probably beneficial to experience ion exchange with the earth. My reasoning is that our bodies have adapted over millions and millions of years to live harmoniously in our environments, and the existence of things like shoes that block ion exchange in our daily lives is an extremely novel phenomenon from an evolutionary perspective. Biological systems are so complex it's impossible to say that there is no interaction between our bodies and some part of the environment. I mean, we can't see infrared light but it penetrates our bodies down to our bone marrow, and our spinal fluid is capable of reflecting it. That is an adaption that serves a biological purpose even though it is well beyond our ability to observe with our senses. Similarly, we can't see the flow of ions in space, nor feel them move between us and the earth. But that does not mean ion exchange doesn't have a role to play in our physiology.
That being said, I have no idea if negative ion accessories confer any sort of health benefit at all. I don't know how they claim to work. My instinct would be to wonder how something that is worn on the body but not connected to the ground could facilitate ion exchange with the earth.
And I will say, anecdotally, that little else feels better than digging your feet into a fresh patch of dirt on a summer day. Is it the ion exchange? Maybe there's a chemical interaction with soil microbes on the surface of the skin, too. Who knows? Science is vast.

Pitch: A Vocaloid fan is shocked when the virtual idol she adores sends her a DM—and says she's in trouble!
My expectations: Developer ebi-hime has published 39 anime-style visual novels to Itch in the past eight years. I can only see the date they were made available on Itch, so it's possible some were released somewhere else prior to 2015. Regardless, 39 games is a mind-boggling number of games for anyone to develop in one lifetime, and ebi does appear to be a one-woman developer.
Okay, but anyone can throw something together at a weekend game jam and call it a game, right? Well, here's where it gets weirder. Many of the Itch listings include each visual novel's word count and estimated time to completion. Among the pages with this information, most hover around either 50,000 words (2-3 hours) or 100,000 words (4-6). At least one game is double that.
And people are playing these. ebi has more than 3,000 followers on Steam. Three people I follow on Twitter also follow @ebihime, including one of my close, personal friends. AIdol was funded by a KickStarter campaign that raised $2,872. I'm not saying these are huge numbers, but these games have dedicated fans.
I am beyond intrigued.
Review:
Hana is just a boring girl. She doesn’t have friends. Her hair is short. She doesn’t know anything about makeup. She can’t cook. She listens to music. And on top of all that, she can’t cook and she doesn’t have friends!
Maybe if Hana didn’t spend half of her time repeating this list of unremarkable characteristics to herself, she could develop a personality, but who needs to be a human when they could instead be a fan?
Her passion is “virtual idol” Aiko, a Vocaloid popstar who performs hologram shows and sells stomach-churning quantities of overpriced merch. She’s basically Hatsune Miku, except the Lyriq corporation has given her artificial sentience for some reason.
But something sinister is happening at Lyriq. Aiko’s programmer has been fired. Her code has been changed, and her memory has been erased. Now Hana and Aiko must work together to solve the mystery.
This mostly involves oops-I-bumped-into-you-and-spilled-coffee meet-cutes and shirtless boys.
It all bores the heck out of me. After an hour of purple prose and static images of generic anime people, I started skipping dialogue, hoping to get to the end, but I couldn’t even put up with that.
Not for me.
+ The intro sequence—lots of quick cuts and effects set to (I think) an original song. It's lively and well produced; not at all what I expect from a visual novel.
+ There are occasional typos and grammatical errors, but again, it surpasses my expectations for this type of game.
+ Professional-looking artwork. I don't know how much is original, but asset packs are made to be used.
+ Ditto, music.
– I brushed my hair away from my forehead. It's hot today, and I hoped it would help me to cool down. Mom thinks I should try a new style, but I don't know anything about hair. We disagree about hair, but I am lucky to have her. Sometimes when I look at her, I think she looks like she's the same age as me, except her hair is different than mine, and I don't know much about hair. Or makeup. I prefer Aiko figurines. I ordered one from AImazon, an online store that is very popular on the idol forms. Other people on the forums can be rude, which is why I'm thinking about cutting back to only posting for 14 hours a day. With my hair away from my face, cooling me on this hot afternoon, which feels as hot as yesterday, I leave the forum and turn my attention to Tumblr. "Now I understand how someone can write 39 visual novels," I write.
– Aiko asks Hana to help her find her original programmer. Hana asks the idol forum if anyone knows anything. Then she hops on a train and visits Lyriq headquarters. She doesn't get any information there. She spends a few minutes commenting on every person she sees walking outside. (Throughout this scene, the only things onscreen are her internal monologue and a picture of a deserted city block.) She stops into a café and watches a young man order coffee, with all the pointless detail of that scene from The Room. The man bumps into her and almost spills the coffee. The game forgets about Hana and instead follows the man on his walk to his office, where he waits for an elevator, talks to a co-worker, goes up the elevator, and talks to another co-worker about his experience getting coffee. The perspective shifts again to this co-worker. We learn about her life for a few minutes, and then she sits down to do her work. Part of her job is moderating the idol forums. She sees Hana's post and closes the thread. Back at home, Hana reads every response to her question, until she finally sees that the thread has been closed. She texts Aiko to tell her the bad news.

Bottom Line: Props for making a complete product with decent production value. Anime and visual novels with minimal interactivity don't usually do anything for me, but even if that is your scene, surely there are better options than AIdol.
