A somewhat recent digital painting of a purple cosmic dragon as it flows amongst planets and stars. This was painted with a specific color palette to practice use of limited/specific color to build a scene.
I had fun with the more loose, swirly shape of this dragon's design, and seeing how the colors work together was really interesting.
Painted in Clip Studio.

Day 2 was a lilac coral fungus. I thought the tube shapes of the fungus would make for an interesting crest, as well as spine like appendages along the dragon. I feel pretty happy with the funky shapes I added to this critter. It's been pretty fun incorporating the different colors and shape designs into dragons.

The next mushroom for the Funguary challenge was one called filoboletus manipularis. They appeared to be tiny and bioluminescent, and so I wanted to make a bioluminescent dragon with those aspects.
Also, I am open for commissions if there is any interest.

Another little dragon painting I'd never shared from last year.
I thought a little dragon chasing a butterfly would turn out cute, so I figured I'd try to paint it.
This was Daniel Smith Watercolors, Prismacolor pencils and a Pigma Micron ink pen on around 5x7 watercolor paper.

The next mushroom for the Funguary challenge was one called cystolepiota. They appeared to be smallish, pale and slightly shaggy or fluffy looking, so I attempted to bring that element into the dragon's design.

The next mushroom for Funguary was a Turkey Tail. I find these mushrooms to have a really interesting shape, which I thought would lend itself well to a scale-like material on the dragon. I also attempted to show it stretching its wing out after camouflaging by a tree.

It's been a bit since I had drawn any furries other than my character Vika, so I figured I'd draw some again on occasion since they're fun to draw sometimes.
I started with a fox, since they're pretty common. I wanted to give him a little more character than just being a fox though, so I designed him to look like a rogue or thief for a tabletop game.
Commissions like this are available and they start at $75, and I am able to do timelapse recordings while I paint digitally. I can also potentially stream the process.

Another of my 'Dragonflies' Series, this one with a delphinium flower. This was painted in watercolors with prismacolor pencil details.
I went with a soft blue delphinium bloom, contrasted with the bright green on the stems and leaves. The delphinium dragon works more like a cross between a hummingbird and a bee, collecting bits of pollen on parts of its scales which it then brings to other flowers as it collects nectar from them which it feeds on.

Since today is "Appreciate a Dragon" day, I thought I'd share a painting from last year of a dragon I felt really happy with. I believe I posted him before, but I wanted to try sharing him again. There'll be new dragons on the way soon.

The next in my Dragonflies/Dragons and Blooms series is a foxglove dragon.
They use the bell shaped flowers both as a base for their appearance and coloration, and as a home. They tuck themselves into the flowers, folding their wings in a way where the mottled pattern looks like an extra layer of petals within the flower.

Another moth dragon painting, this time featuring a luna moth dragon.
I thought the wing shapes and coloration would make for an interesting design, though I'm likely to revisit this one later. Definitely made me want to paint more of them too, though my favorite is still the first one I painted so far.

The next in my Dragonflies / Dragons and Blooms series is a geranium dragon.
For some of these, since there are so many colors and variations, I will probably do more than one in the future.
These dragons like to weave themselves into the flower clusters they are named for, being that their red scales look similar. During the day they will occasionally stretch out their wings to help with absorbing heat from the sun. Since they spend most of their lives in these clusters of flowers, they take on the flower's scent as well.

Jade Dragon,
Watercolor on cold press paper, painted in 2021. I still like the scale details I painted in here, though now I'd push the light and dark contrast a lil more.

The next in my Dragonflies / Dragons and Blooms series is a Lily of the Valley dragon.
I experimented with adding different hues into the flowers on this one, instead of them just being white from the paper itself.
These dragons are fairly delicate, and rely on the blooms of the flowers they get their namesake from as homes and camouflage. They use their long tails to wrap around the stem of the flowers while they rest, holding themselves in place and making them 'almost' look like part of the flower. They often pick one flower stalk to live on, swapping between the different flowers on it from time to time.

The next in my Dragonflies/Dragons and Blooms series is a Hosta dragon.
Hosta dragons are as varied in appearance as the plants their namesake is derived from; their color can come from either the leaves or the flowers, though this specific one chooses to mimic the flower. While most of their time is spent near the scapes or the flowers, they often make their way down the rest of the plant checking it for pests. They track such critters with the vibrations through the main stem and leaves of the plant.
