One thing about NEXTs is that their operation is in theory not even that polluting.
In Armored Core 4 there are a few missions where you are not to contaminate the area with kojima particles, either because your client asked or because you are literally fighting in your home.So what do you do?
You turn off Primal Armor. That's it, that's all it takes. Any other exhaust from the next is either nonexistent or completely negligible
It feels so fucking insulting. All that radiation for a stupid force field around the robot.
The worst part is that weapons have advanced to such a point that Primal Armor is needed to not get shredded. Kojima technology has been added to the corporate arms race and it cannot be removed, every weapon is now made with the intent of piercing PA, imagine what they'll do if you turn it off.
Come Armored Core:For Answer and there isn't a single mission where you turn off primal armor. Everything is ruined anyways, no one cares anymore. It's also my headcanon that all that added speed and the alleged "advancement" of the NEXTs is just the manufacturers no longer having to make them passably enviromentally friendly.
These new mechs probably spew out particles with every boost, who cares.

The arms forts are an extremely funny concept
The League really just went "Okay enough of your stupid mecha power fantasy" and created The War Machines. You know the metaphorical concept of a war machine, being the military resources of a nation organized for waging war? Yeah this is that concept manifested physically. This is the machine that makes the war happen.
Each of them is manned by an entire army, they have enough weapons in them for a large nation, and they are the size of a city. I am confident that if you took every singular asset of the US military and combined into one thing it would look exactly like the Spirit of Motherwill.
