Last week I spent about 3 hours on this stop-motion animated segment as part of my experimentation with the Experimental Animation workshop. It is rough but it was a really good learning experience and quite satisfying to move around the figure I had made around the cardboard spaceship. I also used a bit of what I had learned in the photography workshop I had participated in the previous week when it comes to lighting the space I was working with. Overall I enjoyed the experience and will proceed with working with animation for this week as well.
golem 3d character wip (their limbs are stretchy now)
So after finding no tutorials or threads on the subject and like eight combined hours of throwing random constraints at the wall, I finally figured out how to do IK telescopic arms with pose-ability comparable (ish) to bendy bones.
..I still have a bit of work to do on this character, texturing the legs, adding now limb system to the torso and neck, fixing a few ickys here and there, but overall I'm really pleased with the results they're so cool/fun to play with I'm pretty happy with it.
Finished all the limbs for the armature! It's definitely very wonky and stiff but at least it can fit into the pelt. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to attach the limbs better? Right now they're held with pins that allow them to rotate but are very loose. His shoulders look off if that makes sense? He has areas of loose skin but since the pelt is so tight it's hard to add any more chunk to the armature.
I worked on making an armature for the alien character I'm using.
I first made a base out of twisted wire, building from the feet up as I wanted it to be very stable. From there I made legs, then a torso, which turned out to be the most difficult part due to how I weaved the wire between the ribcage. I began to put on a layer of clay to build on the form. Unfortunately the clay I was using(an air-dry clay I had had in my own supplies) was a bit too unstable and stiff for animation so I made another armature, learning from my mistakes with this one
Edit: HOLY FUCK I MEANT TO PUT “Febrera” ITS A PLAY ON THE SPAINISH WORD “Febrero” OH MY GOD I’M AN IDIOT. MY SPAINISH IS A LITTLE RUSTY DIRKEIDIDIDIDIDISIIEIEIDIDIDIDIDIDIDISIDIDIDIDIIDIDIDIDIDIDIDIFIDIDIDIDISISODODKKDKDKXKD
(Blender) Is there a way to force elbow bends with IK?
I recently followed a tutorial for making a run cycle for my character here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIrfIIiQvrg, attempting to adjust for the fact that I'm using an armature with IK and most of the tutorials I was able to find used a rigify rig instead. I'm somewhat satisfied with the end result, however one great difficulty I had was that I can't get my character to bend her elbows while keeping her hands in the same general key-frame areas. This results in her arms sticking straight out while she runs which is bothering me a lot. Dos anyone know of a way to force an elbow bend on an IK rig? Here are some screenshots of the model/rig:
