Ian couldn’t help his body functions, and therefore he couldn't help that his phasing time was to be the same date that the ship was set to leave Arjbo, but it didn’t mean he wasn’t quite stressed that he wouldn’t make it; that the ship would randomly take off in the minute it took to shift, something of that nature. That didn’t happen though, and he was a perfectly normal human bean once again. Well, a human with natural sandy blonde hair. And he was missing his pierced ears, but that would be resolved sooner rather than later.
When the ship took off, testing its new fast whooshing powers, needless to say Ian was not prepared for what happened. He must have done something wrong with the change this time, somehow. Maybe he wasn't meant to be a carrek after all, and now he was coming apart. Or maybe the conversation with Laurie a few weeks ago had led him to accidentally change into a djayyar. His skin began glowing shades of dark blue, then to purplish-blue, then to orange, then back again, which would have been crazy cool if Ian had any idea what was going on. He had no idea what to say to Theo in that moment and zero explanation. He just ran.
He found a Beverly who was as usual unbothered that her person looked different, and he held onto her. Finding a seat on the floor against an empty hallway, he sat criss-cross applesauce, letting his cat make biscuits on his legs and get comfortable. Blue was as serious as they could be about deciding that they wanted to go blonde. The only issue was that instead of popping out and buying hair dye like any other species that actually had hair to speak of, this involved a lengthier process of actually upgrading their sformer so that it wouldn’t default to the dark brown. Their trusty Iselg Donatello they’d saved up for a couple years ago ran great, and so Blue wouldn’t be doing anything if this involved a downgrade of any sort. Which, to be fair, was rare, but he had to if he wanted to book gigs. With the Prosperity, every day was basically a gig, though he still wasn’t sure what to expect from this job. He didn’t have much to do with the smuggling, so he stayed in his lane. Music was always comforting to him, so he brought his guitar to the lounge as well as his worn notebook full of lyrics and began working on a new song. He had his guitar pick between his teeth as he jotted down some lyrics when the door opened, and he greeted the newcomer with a raised brow. “Hey,” he said after taking the pick from his mouth. “I’m not missing a meeting or something, am I?”

Laurie was trying to get adjusted on the ship, but it had only been a couple of hours since she was miraculously welcomed to board. She’d gotten to know a couple of the mates already (Greg was definitely her favorite already) but with some time to familiarize herself with the ship, she decided to go to the cafeteria. She wasn’t exactly hungry (not that she needed physical food anyway), but she was always conscious of acting “normal”. Was it even an acceptable time to eat? The cafeteria was nearly empty, so probably not. Well, too late now. She decided to grab an orange and sit down, peeling it mindlessly.
She was just keeping to herself, looking around the cafeteria, when someone had passed by and she unintentionally made eye contact. Not knowing what else to do, she offered an awkward, forced smile and a wave. Okay, that felt really stupid.

The tablet full of books he received from his parents was nice, but he still personally preferred the physical thing to digital. Scanning the shelves, Robin spotted a copy of The Hobbit with a light green cover and with a very elegant gold leaf edging, and he couldn’t resist pulling it off the top shelf to look at it. But as he removed the copy from the shelf, a book right next to it seemed to be stuck to it, and before he could react, the book slipped off the shelf and fell onto his head. Robin caught the book before it fell further onto the ground, and he hissed, clutching the spot where it hit.
