again no hate but i feel like mcr fans like to pretend its less popular than it is sometimes
#music#rambles#that is like the most popular of pop punk#also those people who act as if taylor swift and mcr are in completely different universes of music#when swift collaborated with both fall out boy and p!atd (other emo trinity bands) and cites ppl like pete wentz as her favorite lyricists#bands and artists notoriously adjacent to mcr in the pop punk scene#not really a fan of any of those artists but like they're not diametrically opposed#death grips fans like pretending its less popular than it is too lol those dudes were filling concerts by 2012#tho if death grips ever makes new music and they collab with taylor i would be... surprised.#anyways umm if you want non mainstream appeal/''head explode'' worthy music i recommend lingua ignota#blew me away when i first listened to her
