Thank you for this amazing update it was so so good. I will probably end up sending multiple asks (apologies in advance) because there is so much to process. This was such an amazing chapter! Your ability to capture these strong emotions and display what I feel is accurate characterizations is truly captivating. I've been so pumped for this chapter and I was just so blown away by it.

God first off Impulse. IMPULSE!!! My man literally carried Tango to a safe place, helped the ranchers feel safe, and just went full Dad mode. I flipped when he went full demon mode after finding out what happened to Tango. Man was ready to enter Hels and destroy Hels Tek block by block.

Jimmy getting hints about Watcher stuff as well was *chef kisses*. Kinda curious can Martyn and Scott hear what the Watchers are saying to Jimmy? Martyn seemed to step in just when they were getting extra hurtful.

God you fed us with Ranchers too. I was so happy that Tango may slowly be starting to get that he is loved. The way Jimmy didn't back down. uggggg perfection

Also Tango associating quartz with Hels was so painful. My man went through every trauma response this chapter and probably will still hit like 30 more.

Small questions you might not be able to answer yet but will ask anyways. When Tango went through the portal, is it still open on Double Life or did Jimmy get in at the last second? If Tango did break the portal would he or Bravo be able to get back to the rest of the universe? You mentioned that Bravo's sense of superiority shows up differently in Tango, is that Tango enjoys watching other suffers. That he enjoys the power it gives him or is that more of a trauma response due to strong need to be in control and by killing others he feels like he is strong enough to protect himself? Or I guess a combo of both hahaha. Ummmm last question for now can I like stab Atlas for like everything? Especially the collar? That cool ya awesome I'm gunna assume that's a yes

loved getting to give impulse a bigger role in this update- as tango’s oldest friend on hc, it just made sense that he’d be front and center. and getting to show demon mode was the cherry on top 👌

martyn and scott CAN indeed hear jimmy’s watchers if they’re close enough, scott just tries his best to pretend they don’t exist out of spite while martyn is more sympathetic to being the brunt of their jokes. neither of them want to talk to jimmy abt it tho bc they think he’s better off not knowing abt the watchers, even tho the alternative is him thinking his own thoughts are super mean ;(

(but neither of them were close enough to catch grian’s brief slip into watcher state, in case anyone was wondering)

GLAD U ENJOYED THE RANCHER MEAL 💃 there’s a lot of interesting hels dynamics and worldbuilding and angst to explore in this au but at the end of the day, this is a rancher’s au for a reason 🙏😤

obvi u sent this in before i answered other asks abt it but JUST in case u didn’t catch those, tango was interrupted before he could break the portal, and if it were broken, they would still be able to open a portal out of hels using another player’s data.

as for ur other question, it’s def a bit of both. tango’s always had a bit of sadism in him as an amplification of bravo’s superiority complex. one of his favorite pastimes pre-hels tek was to set traps outside of the cities and wait for players to stumble into them and perish terribly, while he watched with delight. but after hels tek, he fixated more on mob farms as a way of trying to reclaim that trauma, while ALSO being a more socially-acceptable way to scratch that itch.

and last but not least, u can TRY to stab atlas but ur gonna have to wait at the end of a very long line.

i know Enchanting Grom Fright is going to absolutely decimate me, so i decided to liveblog about it. more under the cut!

- they’re getting wifi through the portal?? then how did Luz text her mom way back in the first episode??

- on that note...oh no. also how come no one at reality camp called mrs. noceda to report that luz never showed up? plot convenience?

- luz’s human school sucks, why ban someone from a dance bc they cosplayed as an otter?

- you know what? ofc luz would push a random red button without thinking of the consequences. disaster bi

- “medieval torture” are words actually used in a disney channel show

- oh. so we gave this grometheus monster a cute nickname and made it a festivity

- so why only one student? why can’t the grom royalty consist of at least two to fight off the monster?

- i’m probably the minority here but i just DESPISE Eda’s suit. it looks like she stole it from some businessman in the human world and knowing Owlbert it probably was. she looks like Mr. Bean. i wished she would’ve gone with a dress instead (she looks great in them obvi) or at the very least have the suit tailored to be a bit more flattering. and have suit that isn’t brown. like ew.

- on that note, is Eda chaperoning bc principal bump is making her?

- luz just carries around paper with her with pre-drawn glyphs huh? i have an entire essay about how she’s going to keep drawing glyphs without using up so much paper, but i’ll save it for another post

- when i tell you i SCREAMED when luz and amity’s face got SO close

- luz eyeing the otter suit oh my god XD did she honestly pack that for camp???

- anyway her mom’s pfp...are those space buns?? adorable

- everyone openly expressing their hatred for hooty huh?

- luz is lactose intolerant!

- second time Eda has admitted luz is her kid...wholesome

- AMITY’S NOTE

- i’ll say this though: disney’s first bi character, and she’s GNC. i myself am androgynous and bi so i feel really seen, luz’s grom outfit is definitely something i would wear.

- i relate way too hard to king’s anxiety

- i mean it’s predictable that luz’s actual fear was of her mom sniffing out her bluff, but i still feel bad for her. also it’s really cool how she faced her debate with jerks fear.

- i let out this unholy SCREECH when they started dancing omg. omg.

- this fight scene was short but it’s gotta be one of my favourites. the dancing animation was so smooth!! lumity got them moves

a cs 2.0 fic i’ll never write

An AU Emma pops through a portal in Hyperion Heights

She’s got JMo’s Superfly hair and she stabs car with her sword like James Marsden in Enchanted.

The normies who arrest her are like “Another one for Rogers”

She gets handcuffed to a desk at the station and is all tight lipped about who she is, and Rogers calls OG Emma to make sure it’s not her

Maybe AU Emma gets free of her cuffs and she and Rogers have a sword fight in the middle of the station, much to everyone’s annoyance

It turns out she’s sort of a vagabond in her realm. Her parents were killed and outside forces seized the throne and ran her out of the kingdom, and she just spent years as a wandering adventurer until she ended up crashing with an old hag who prophesized that she would become, like, a guardian to the Guardian - or whatever

Cuz post-Rump, Alice has become a sort of all-purpose Guardian, like OG Emma’s an all-purpose Savior (a term I’ve stolen from an Entertainment Weekly recap)

So Emma searched for a portal to fulfill her destiny cause maybe that would ease the guilt she feels for abandoning her kingdom/wrongs she’s done as a wandering adventurer, or something

So she meets Alice and they instantly hit it off, but AU Emma and Rogers are all wary of e/o at first - though Emma can’t help her knee-jerk impulse to flirt with him

AU Emma also makes friends with the Hyperion Heights crew, especially Tiana (obviously, bc the way to Emma’s heart is through her stomach) and she ends up crashing with her and helping out at the food truck

And Rogers is irritated bc he doesn’t feel like running into Emma when he’s just trying to get lunch

But then stuff happens and Rogers starts to appreciate how much Emma cares about and looks out for Alice and vice-versa, and they grow to respect e/o

Then they have some on-the-job adventure-bonding, and some late-nights-at-Roni’s-confessions, and they start to strike up a friendship

And then oh no, Rogers suddenly starts feeling super attracted to AU Emma, which is weird cuz he doesn’t feel the same way about OG Emma - but that makes sense cuz he considers them p different people - but it’s still weird yo

And then one day AU Emma runs into OG Emma and Killian for the first time, and they’re obviously married and have pre-teen Hope in tow, and she kinda freaks and flees

Rogers hears about the encounter and finds her and they go for a long walk and talk about relationships and how they’ve both always been kinda skeptical that a real romance is in their own futures

But then oh no it’s late and they’ve walked far, but they’re near Rogers’s apartment and he has an extra room so he offers it to Emma for the night

And she borrows some sweatpants and a Seattle PD sweatshirt

And they both lay in their respective beds, wide awake, for a while

And when they give up on sleeping, they run into each other in the kitchen where Rogers has started to make tea

And the kitchen’s suddenly all cramped during the tea making process

And they’re whispering bc they left the lights off and it seems like they should

And there’s hand brushing. And a tentative smooch.

And blammo, sex happens.

Emma wakes up the next day spooning Rogers and she slips out to think about things

She walks to Roni’s and she finds OG Emma having breakfast, and they introduce themselves properly and have a talk, and AU Emma comes to the decision that she wants to ask Rogers out

She ends up eating with OG Emma and Killian and Hope (and probably Henry and Ella and Lucy)

Then she goes to find Alice to, like, ask permission to date her father, and Alice and Robin (who’s there) are overjoyed and drag Emma to a store to buy a date outfit and cook up some romantic schemes

And somehow they end up back at Tiana’s with all the Hyperion Heights women who’ve heard about what’s going down, and it turns into an impromptu date-prep party

Alice’s inter-dimensional cousin, Hope, shows up and she obviously hero-worships Alice (there’s a You’ve Got Mail moment with Hope and Jacinda where Hope’s like, I’M HER AUNT)

Anyways

Meanwhile Rogers has been kinda freaking out since he woke up alone. At some point throughout the day he realizes no one’s heard from Emma since she had breakfast with OG Captain Swan, and he starts to think she left town or something

And he spends all day looking for her to no avail

But when he comes back to his apartment that night, Emma’s standing in front of his door waiting for him

And she’s changed out of her Gilderoy-Lockhart-in-the-duel-scene, off-the-shoulder cape and boots that she’s had on throughout the whole fic

And she’s wearing a nice dress and heals that she bought with Alice, and Hope’s done her make up (cuz she learned how to eyeliner from her dad, obvi)

And she’s got a bouquet of roses cuz it seemed like a good idea at the time, shut up

And she says she came by to ask him out on a date

And Rogers feels all the panic melt away and he just beams

And they smooch
