yknow, i have considered the non-zero chance of a hermit/life series member stumbling across my work, especially as more and more of them seem to be dipping their toes here on tumblr. this is the only fandom i’ve written for where the creators interact so closely with their fans (and fan content) on a regular basis, so it’s def a strange prospect. i guess that’d apply to tik tok as well.

lemme be clear: i would never want someone to purposefully send my work to the cc’s or ask them about it, but if they come across it on their own, i trust them to moderate their own engagement as an adult on a public platform (ie. if they don’t wanna see shipping nonsense, i trust they are capable of just… scrolling past it LOL) and i believe jimmy has already been informed that the fic community would prefer if he didn’t engage like he does w fanart/animatics so i’m prob safe from him ever like, actually acknowledging it HA

but anyway, the proximity of the cc’s to the fandom is def interesting. from a creator standpoint, i can absolutely understand their curiosity. but it seems to make some ppl think the fandom needs to be ‘sanitized’ for them, which i disagree with. fandom is and has always been a place for the fans. the cc’s are all adults, they can decide what content they wanna see. not that this is directed at u anon LMAO i just always see those ‘scatter!’ posts in the main tag anytime a cc mentions tumblr and i’m like uh… sir i live here. u literally picked up my rock. i’m just chillin.

so yeah, i’ve made my peace w the chance of a cc coming across the HTP au (i guess i OUGHTA be ok w it cuz i’ve written a piece for the next trafficzine, but no shipping for that ofc HAHA)

ooooh yeah i think ur talking about “first day of my life” by bright eyes? it’s the only one i think i’ve actually removed from the playlist, the others were just re-ordered. i still like that song btw it’s very sweet, i just decided it didn’t quite fit tango in HTP. it placed a little too much significance on his relationship w jimmy as being the start of his new life when in the story he’s had nearly ten years w the hermits beforehand, learning about love and kindness. so that’s the only reason i took it off.

but anyway, i hope that’s the song u meant, if not lmk and i’ll have another look!

I don’t know anyone else who gets these infusions but it’s nice to know that even a random person on the internet who writes amazing things also goes through the same things I do! Once you get the dosing and frequency right, it’s gonna be all over for you mfs!! Anyways I wish you well and wish you luck and good things happen to you!

before i met w my doctor to discuss results and treatment, i was expecting to be put on oral meds (immunosuppressant + steroids). it seemed to be the most common treatment i found while doing my own research, esp as the first option. but he said he wanted me to start infusions due to the severity of my disease- which i hadn’t even heard of before for crohn’s. that was a real curveball.

so suffice to say, it’s VERY NEAT to hear from someone in the same boat. thanks for the kind words, i wish u the best as well!

luckily i don’t think my crohn’s will be that disruptive, i’ll be starting infusion treatments in a few weeks and while it can take a long time to reach true remission i should hopefully see my symptoms start to improve early on. the only thing that could truly make me put writing on hold is if i had to get surgery- which is a common eventuality for many crohn’s patients, but as of right now, isn’t the plan for me.

honestly tho i’ve got some fics that have been on hiatus for years now cuz of vet school already. so someday i’m gonna hit em with the ‘sorry this took so long i graduated vet school’ and that thought amuses me greatly 😂

With the release of the new Camp cretaceous trailer I was reminded of you fic Darwin’s Finches, and how much I absolutely love it! I reread it and saw that when you had finished it you had plans of making a sequel, I was wondering if that was still in the works as I would absolutely love to read more. No pressure though just wanted to let you know how much I loved the fic and if I should look out for more!

ohhh no worries at all, the trailer for jwct has me SO hyped. i already knew i wanted to get back to darwin’s finches before we even had a sequel show confirmed and my excitement has grown exponentially. howEVER i do still wanna finish the current series i’m writing here in tumblr first, i’ve got two more chapters planned, but once that’s done i’m absolutely gonna make the next installment of darwin’s finches my top priority.

… that’ll likely be when i’m on clinical rotations but HEY i’ve surprised myself before with how much writing i can do when i have to save it all for the weekends. in any case, the next part will just be a oneshot (catching up with dave and roxie) before i start the next big multi-chap fic so hopefully at least that can get done in a timely manner.
