call me crazy but i got up early just to watch ep 4 of love is better the second time around and it did not disappoint. all the moments of miyata finally letting himself fall were so cute and wonderful and the moment by the river was perfection, miyata leveraging all the ways he’s missed and yearned for iwanaga to try and show he’s in this more but iwanaga meets him on every front. like he said, he may not have cried as much, but the way he expresses his emotions is separate from the emotions he feels, which is just as much. he’s in this too, he always has been.
which is why im so interested to see where next week goes. we’re getting another rival after iwanaga, as well as shiraishi, and this one is from the past too. im gonna be interested to see what went down and how iwanaga approaches the situation, bc clearly people are drawn to him, but its not like he’s rejecting these people and focusing on miyata, so im gonna be interested to see how he explains these relationships. and im hopeful bc it’s something we hardly ever see, it’s always the one that’s waited and never loved or been with anyone else that is praised in these kinds of shows where people reunite and have always loved each other, like being with anyone else devalues it, when it’s actually very human to try and fill that gap, and to have any kind of feelings for someone else. it doesn’t lessen the love or yearning for that person, feelings aren’t something that have to be distributed between people, you can have all that love that equals miyata and have other feelings for other people that are different and temporary. and god i hope the show goes for that bc I’d be so happy to see a show share that message.
