you know, i usually look back on my eighth grade self as like, this quirky, Weird Girl(tm) who nonetheless had a network of various accepting friends, but i’m transcribing what i consider to be my most Iconically Eighth Grade diary volume, and i think that “an absolute feral lunatic of a child with a penchance for scraps who miraculously had a group of people who had Bonded with them like a horse girl to a wild mustang” is much closer to the truth

#MY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT FROM THIS WILD 13-YEAR-OLD IS ACTUALLY INSANE #i wouldn't say time has ~domesticated~ me or anything but i think high school tamed me in some way #another part of it *might* have also been the undiagnosed and therefore untreated adhd #but wow while i wasn't a 'threatens to bring a gun to class' child i certainly threatened to beat people up w/my yearbook a whole lot!#apparently i wanted to carve 'i am' [inside reference] into a locker at the high school i'd eventually attend bc we were touring there that #day and the ONLY THING that stopped me was apparently the fact that i had LOST MY SCISSORS.#i truly believe that the word 'feral' is an appropriate term to describe the me in eighth grade and this is all written from my pov #like it's my diary ofc it is so it's all presented as this perfectly normal behavior. though i guess i knew my own wild character as well #so Me Being Wild And Feral WAS just who i was and how i behaved. it was my character!#i think the undiagnosed-soon-to-be-diagnosed adhd plays a fair role in all this tbh. my behavior just SCREAMS neurodivergent #the worm speaks
