“The Kind You Save” is one of those fics that you can’t read just once, it stays with you. The writing is incredible, it rewrites canon yet still feels like this could’ve been in the actual movie. Every chapter leaves you wanting more, and showcases how good this ship is together.

I’ve had this letter queued up for a while because I couldn’t find enough words to tell you how much I admire you. My first real experience interacting with your blog was with a head canon about sambucky. I think it was the jealousy one, I was in awe because it was just an add on to a post but it was so sweet and it showcased a lot that I love about the ship. I was so excited to leave this letter for you because your writing is so thoughtful and I love every bit of it. You’re such a creative writer, I can honestly say that “bury the ghost” is one of my favorite fics of all time. It was so vivid, painful yet sweet at the same time. You have such a way with words that makes me look forward to reading more from you.

For anyone looking for a fic to get lost in, you absolutely need to read "there and back” I read it and was so mesmerized. It’s a brilliant journey of love and reflection for sambucky. It reads like you’re right there with them, watching them get closer to something beautifully inevitable.

I hope you know just how much I love you! The first time I read “heaven’s no place (for a lonely man to rest)”, I was so touched. I was new to the sambuckysteve ship and stumbled upon your story which to this day in my opinion is one of the best sambuckysteve fics ever. I said it before but I have to say it again, you truly deserve all the kudos, your writing is so precious.

Another favorite of mine is “When You Awake”, it was so beautiful. The insight into Sam’s thoughts was so refreshing. Your characterization was spot on, and the narration was incredible. I was so invested throughout the whole story and didn’t want it to end.

I still come back to read these all the time because I can’t get enough of your writing, thank you for being so great, I can’t wait to read more from you 🤎

Hi @yikesdontlook, you should know that I absolutely adore you and everything you write.

I remember reading “bluebirds singing in the dead of night” for the first time and just being in awe of how beautiful your writing is. I left you a comment then but I just want to thank you once again for writing such an amazing story & giving so much love to our boys 💙

Here’s one of my favorite parts, “There is nothing more reassuring than the other man’s presence. Everything about Sam is too alluring. His smile could make an entire army surrender as to preserve its beauty.

The reflecting off of Sam’s skin during the burnt oranges and pinks of setting suns is an image for museums. When Sam laughs it sounds like the song of a canary first thing in the morning or the fire crackling of the bonfire they put together on the weekends.

Sam is the embodiment of everything warm in the world and Bucky hadn’t realized until now that he’s been absolutely freezing without him all this time.”

I first discovered you with your fic “just let me adore you”

I left a comment but I need to tell you how much I still love the story and go back to re-read it. It had all my favorite elements of oblivious Sam, whipped Bucky, both of them not wanting to admit to themselves how deeply they truly feel for each other.

You did such a wonderful job, I hope anyone who hasn’t read this, gets a chance to because it’s seriously perfect.

Here’s a peak at one of my favorite lines:

“I know you don’t get how I could be okay with just being friends, if I was always just going to want more than that.”

Bucky swallows, a little shaky. “But I just...I just want you. Or however much you were willing to give me. It didn’t matter, as long as I could still be in your life.”

Hello anon, thanks so much for submitting this. I'm always on the lookout for new Sambucky fics to read. This fic is exceptionally written, @pinballbrain created something so passionate. When I got this ask, I had to read this story and I found it so expressive. It takes a deep dive into post-tfatws, Bucky’s thoughts, and his relationship with not only Sam but others in his life.

I loved how even though the fic is Bucky-centric, it makes sure to give Sam his time to express his emotions and how he’s handling life after taking up the mantle. If you’re in the mood for a good multi-chapter story about Bucky’s journey and his relationships, “i will soar, then” is a must-read.
