Charles (his existence, a little bit cause his whole thing right now is really giving the 100 sideplot) and Anne (yay more anne), AnneJack&AnneAlex(+Eleanor in this)(+Charles usually), Alex: she's so strong she'll make it through shell get higher i have connected, im seriously done with Flint's shit i cant believe he threw Billy overboard for some reason i forgot the insanity we saw in the first ep from him i forgot he doesn't give a single shit about nothing and no one but whatever the goal is, i can be amused by that but not this time Billy was offbounds and he killed him for something so fuckung stupif like if you'd talk to him for a second instead of hiding everything he wouldn't worry about you this much, Billy better be alive i will not stand for this its too soon. Silver talking about Eleanor wanting people to know no one fucks with her,one of my favourite things yet(Eleanor in general especially in this ep was great as a character i like her whole thing). The cat and the people they had locked up made it out alive so far so im okay. I can not imagine the show without Mr Scott his relationship both with Eleanor and the society they have created for themselves is too interesting. They do slightly lighter stuff so well, like i genuinely laugh and i never really expect it, it fits with the rest of the vibe, good. I was just going to write down the drums solo thing so that i wouldn't forget it and here we are. Silver's just a silly sometimes smart little guy at this point , i have no particular feelings for him other than mild annoyance and mild amusement but he's mostly just there and looking somewhat pretty, its still early you can see them unveiling his whole character growth thing , feel it, which im aware of in a positive way. I know they're all horrible but the r*** stuff i have no tolerance for , like Jack too is on thin ice because of his blind eye(i liked his scenes with anne about it though cause more anne more jack more annejack). Speaking of, i like how graphic they are with the violence and they way they go about it. I like most of the dynamics , they all amuse me, not in a jump up and down way, it still feels early, but still. "He's not coming back (charles)" my spoilers show him saying he wouldn't leave them alone for too long cause they might get lost and that at some point charles may be dead and jack really feels the absence so those two things and "my boy (roan's face, charles) looks so cool like this im glad he's here" were the thoughts going through my head at the end.

Black Sails and relationships

I’ve got a lot to say about this, but I’m thinking about three relationships, Flint/Silver, Anne/Jack and Eleanor/Vane.

For me, Anne and Jack have the most healthy and normal relationship on this show, why?  Because they respect each other.  They both want the same things in life, they are equals at a time women were considered property of men, it’s almost like they are one person, which isn’t all that healthy but as far as relationships go, theirs is the best.

Flint and Silver have an interesting union.  Flint never respected Silver, he thought he was a useless shit.  In the beginning of season 3, Silver acted like an abusive spouse, he flat out told Silver, “you are not welcome.”  He undermined his authority by going on that empty ship even though Silver gave the order for the men to sweep the deck BEFORE the captain boarded it.  He even blamed Silver for them having to go into the storm, which was bullshit because Flint could have overridden Silver’s decision to go on the empty ship.  And then in the doldrums, Flint tells Billy that Silver would start to hallucinate, I was like, “dude, you’ve BEEN hallucinating for days.”  Also in the doldrums, Silver was like a mama bear, trying to figure out which crewman had stolen the food, so the correct person would be punished, but Flint, acting like papa bear was like, “I don’t have time for this shit, Silver bae,” and shot both men, then told Silver that if HE, Silver couldn’t do what needed to be done, then HE, Flint would have to do it.  In other words, You’re a weak little shit and I’m the only one whose thinking straight.”

Flint only started to respect Silver when Silver told him he stole from him.  Flint then realized that Silver wasn’t the useless little shit anymore.  However, Silver told Flint a very important thing, and it’s the thing that describes Silver, “without these men, all I am is an invalid.”  To me, that means that the crew means everything to Silver, and he’ll do anything to protect them, even if he has to protect them from Flint.

After last night’s episode, I asked myself, is Silver evil?  Does he want to kill Flint?  I don’t think so.  I mean Silver had to be a bit apprehensive taking the job of quartermaster on Flint’s ship, especially since he walked into Flint’s quarters that day and found that Flint had murdered Gates, who was not only Flint’s quartermaster but his BEST FRIEND.  I mean that is one honking red flag right there.

When Flint told Silver about Thomas, I think something clicked inside Silver’s head, that is: “shit, this man is fighting England because of what they did to his relationship with Thomas and what they did to Thomas, he and Miranda.”  Now, I can get Flint’s anger, but I don’t know if that’s enough to wage war on an entire country and drag crewmen into it.  At some point, I think Silver will tell Flint, “Dude, this is YOUR issue with England, not ours.”

Last is Eleanor and Vane.  Lots of folks hate Eleanor because of what she did to Vane, but I don’t really hate her.  See, Eleanor is like that girl who does heroin for years, hits a bottom and then realizes she has to get sober, Vane was the guy she used to do drugs with.  The had a hot, passionate relationship, but in the end it would never go anywhere because Eleanor wants to move on with her life and Vane, as he said this season, has no use for anything more in his life.  I always felt that Eleanor loved Vane, but it’s hard to love a man after he kills your dad, even if you dad was a major douchebag.  Eleanor just couldn’t get past that.  

I know a lot of women who LOVED the bad boys when they were younger, but then they realized they wanted something more in life than being a squatter in an abandoned building in the East Village.  Now they didn’t kill their boyfriends, but they totally cut themselves off from them.  To Eleanor, as long as Vane was alive, there would be unrest in Nassau and she would not be able to move on.  That was a stupid move IMO because now she’s in Blackbeard’s sights and she will probably lose her life while Max shakes her head and says, “told you killing Vane was a bad idea, that’s why I didn’t tell you who the spy was.”  Come to think of it, Eleanor should have stuck with Max because I think no matter what happens, Max will come out on top.

You don’t think I can convey a thought to Anne comprehensible only to her, a thought as simple as “run”? A letter that said everything the governor wished it to say in exactly the way he’d want to say it would not sound like anything I’d ever say.
