Two Cents: Angel Locsin

I was one of the people who wasn’t “outraged” when she entered the story. I was giving the LLS writers/crew the benefit of the doubt with this one at the time. I was excited cause from the pilot week, I had hoped Lia lived somehow and that she would make a pivotal return when Malia would’ve needed her most. She didn’t reenter into the story as I imagined nor would’ve liked, but as she was brought in as Jacinta, I just went with the flow.

Seeing Mateo turn to ash, I knew there was no coming back for him, but for Lia, as she laid there, I knew there was a possibility. That maybe her werewolf powers get triggered and she semi-heals and therefore Samantha was one of the few who saves her and the rest is history as far as how Jacinta was brought about. But with how the writers are going about it as of lately, it seems like they themselves don’t even know what they want to do. It was pretty clear at least back then, that this “Lady in Red” can indeed be Lia. But shit got really blurry real quick the past few days with this speculation of is she the “future Malia”. Trash that idea please, let’s go back to leading her to be revealed as Lia finally. Much more acceptable.

What bothers me most and what Star Creatives fucked up on is HOW they went about bringing her into the story. Instead of adding her into the story to be A PART of the story, they wrote her into the story in such a way that she became the center. Instead of allowing all characters to be shining, they put the female lead down to bring her up. This is where they made the fault--this is where they allowed fan bases to clash. At the time, Malia’s powers still didn’t unleash, and she was practically useless in battle and Lady in Red always had to save to day. What fan wouldn’t be upset about this? Malia who was said to be the Chosen One, the hybrid who should be the most powerful, and yet she couldn’t do a damn thing to save anyone at the time, but this new character can--comes in and steals the show.

It really sucks what Star Creatives allowed to happen between Angel’s fans and Kath/KN fans. Had they brought Angel back into the story in such a way where Kath/KN fans wouldn’t have reacted the way they did, all this unnecessary bashing wouldn’t be happening. Do you think if they had brought her back as Lia in a pivotal point in the storyline (like how I had hoped) that fans would’ve been outraged? The answer is no. Because she wouldn’t have been seen as “stealing the show”.

For me, she either 1. Was re-entered into the show too soon 2. Could have been re-entered into the show in a better way where it didn’t have to turn into a her vs. Kath kind of ordeal that it ended up turning into. Cause fuck, her and Kath have great chemistry on screen. I was hoping for a redemption from PSY-- a good mother-daughter relationship. I was hoping LLS was going to give the great mother-daughter “feels” that PSY failed to deliver. [They wasted the great chemistry Jodi and Kath had as mother-daughter, so I had hoped they would show it here with Angel and Kath] I had hoped for plenty of scenes of them together as they unveil who Jacinta really is- Lia. Their first encounter was so good, and so was when Jacinta was helping her unleash her powers and she “pretended” to admit she was Lia.

But as the story went on, clearly they didn’t write things for the better, but continue to write Jacinta in a way that still frustrated fans and what not. And I know Angel answering back to some fans in the beginning of all this didn’t help any. I don’t blame her, I wished she didn’t, but I can’t blame her. If only she better understood where the fans were coming from at the time, it wasn’t necessarily her but just trauma from PSY cause they made PSY focus on Jodi/Amor and they disregarded AngYna and Madame Claudia (at least that’s how it was to my knowledge). To her defense, not all artists are going to be like Kath or DJ who at most, remain mum to bashers. Some artists snap back. Angel happened to be one of those who snapped back, and unfortunately to Kath/KN fans. For me, I put it all to the writers and SC for this one. I see it as some feud/issue that could’ve easily been avoided had they wrote the plot better and just overall handled things better, but can’t expect much from SC.

I can only wish they do something about it still. I know it’s probably unlikely, but maybe, just maybe haha. Cause the last thing I would want is some awkward tension between Kath and Angel just cause of this stupid shit, because of Star Creative’s carelessness. Cause Angel was a Kathniel fan, but I guess after this it’s hard to say if she still is all thanks to SC. So yup, again I blame the writers and SC :)

Angy siempre ha sido una mujer valiente. En estas fiestas lo ha confirmado comentando en Instagram la incansable lucha que ha mantenido contra uno de los fantasmas más difíciles de superar: la depresión. Ella, puro nervio y talento, también sucumbió ante esta dolencia aunque, por suerte, ya va remontando el vuelo.

En su perfil en la antedicha red social comenta que «Este año ha sido un año de crecimiento emocional.De madurez. De pegar un golpe en la mesa y decirle a mi mente: BASTA.Aun queda trabajo por hacer, pero he dado un paso grande.He sufrido depresión muchos años y hoy dia siento que estoy saliendo del agujero.La depresión está ,aunque en tu vida esten pasando cosas buenas. Tengas trabajo, pareja, vida mas o menos estable, pero esta enfermedad está presente y no puedes evitar estar triste, enfadada, sin ganas…».

Acabo de ver un programa que hablaba de la obra de Juan Muñoz. El actor John Malkovich aparecía comentando el trabajo del escultor español. En uno de los cortes de la entrevista al intérprete, éste decía algo como que el artista es el que encuentra belleza en lo mundano, en lo rutinario, hasta en lo feo y en lo temporal. Bien. Yo creo que éstas dos fotos son de las mejores que he hecho nunca. No por lo técnico. No por el color, no por la composición. Sí por captar el espíritu de ese momento.
