But it's more than that.#I'm deliberately choosing to see through different lenses as someone who paralleling Hayley's death to the circumstances of her death.#And I'm finding#whether you like her or hate her#how almost karmic and hypocritical it was in canon.#She started off as a werewolf willing to portray a pack of hybrids#and then she becomes one of two hybrids in existence (after Tyler lost his status).#just as she betrayed the pack#she's unintentionally betrayed by her daughter and Elijah - her family - so she can't be saved.#she's had her Crescent birthmark cut off from and werewolf side bound#effectively leaving her a vampire and vulnerable to death.#The biggest irony: Her death is the elemental opposite of Carol Lockwood's#whose death she caused#leaving a child behind.#Compared to TVD 4x09#I'd almost say her death mimics everything Tyler lost in her betrayal.#Everything she loved became everything she lost. And everything she didn't want for Hope became true.
