I remember (a long) time ago when I was considering getting contraceptives of an IUD. I've always been scared of pills (cancerigen) but non hormonal ones seems less harmful. Thankfully I had a classmate who has one and she told me she had struggled quite a lot with it (irregular bleeding, cramps even out of the periods time, etc) so I eventually gave up.

So yeah, contraceptives are a big no to me.

hunter x hunter thotz so far

soooo ruth and i started watching hunter x hunter woohoo finally! we’re like 10 or so eps in so i decided to collect some thots below on what i think so far (i havent rlly been spoiled so im interested to look back on this once ive watched more)

first off i love gon sm, hes immediately so endearing...hes just a baby!!!! just a little baby boy!!!! hes just so cute and good, im so not ready for him to get put thru the wringer later on as ive vaguely heard happens

the first few episodes were really fast paced which i enjoyed and thought was for the best. the characters came thru really strongly and i feel like we heard juuuust enough about the setting, premise, and what a hunter is

i wasnt expecting leorio and kurapika to show up in the FIRST EP lmao that surprised me. i love so much how the three of them like IMMEDIATELY became a family unit in like 3 eps lmaoooo it was like ok here are 2 parents and their son bam. also leorio and kurapika having a showdown on the boat (which didnt end up happening) was a wild ride

i have like zero fucking idea what a hunter is and the more they attempt to explain the more confused i get. its honestly kind of hilarious how little sense it makes. to be clear this doesnt detract from my enjoyment of the show at all (if anything it adds to it)

oh my god fuckgin hisoka is the worst he hasnt done much but i hate him so much already. good villain writing/design so far, hes so hateable

ruth every time hisoka shows up: WE HATE UR PUSSY BIIIITCH

the character design in this show is....a lot lmao. ruth and i decided its a cross between soul eater, jojo, and one piece in terms of aesthetic. the designs are certainly unique and so many of them are just so ugly hvbjafdbdskgs it reminds me of that post thats like ‘masterpost of jojo characters who look busted as shit’ lmao

i already love this show a lot tbh like the way its structured so far has been kinda atypical for a shounen, at least in terms of fights - we really havent seen a lot of fighting yet. also nen hasnt shown up yet and its reminding me of stands not becoming a thing in jojo until p3 lmao

anyways in litrally ep1 i already loved the 3 main characters we saw...leorio is a wild dude, i love him sm, especially as a fellow medical binch who wants MONEY. like, thats literally me. and kurapika is also wild, like damn they rlly just dropped their backstory in ep 1 huh. like we rlly are jumping right into this

also when leorio said he was a teenager i was like WHAT???? just like evryone else which YEA omfg. i cant believe hes that young lmao. kurapika too

so leorio is one of those 19 yr olds who looks 40 and kurapika is the type of teen who looks like a 12 yr old

and KILLUA i love him sm also....hes an adorable assassin catboy and hes perfect. i love how quickly he and gon hit it off (tiny bfs.....) and how hes just like, this extra as hell 12 yr old with a SKATEBOARD and ASSASSIN SKILLS and then he sees gon and is like guess im gonna fall in love

i gotta talk abt gon again i just love him. hes so polite and cute and kind and good, i just love him...wht a good protag. his motivation is just wild too, hes like well my dad abandoned me to go off and be a hunter (which he isnt even mad abt, what a nice lad) so im gonna do that to see what the deal is

i love how gon (just like the audience) doesnt really know what a hunter does/is and just goes into the exam totally blind lmao. also the fact that his skills seem to include jumping good, being speedy, having the energy typical of a 12 yr old, being a weather sniffer, being nice, and having good instincts/constitution as a result of having eaten random grass and forest shit growing up...amazing.

is this gonna turn out to be one of those things where its like, wow theyve been using nen this whole time without realizing! tht would honestly explain a lot lmao

i really enjoy how like....semi-normal the power levels are rn? while also being all over the place and wack as fucks obvs (like hisoka dissolving that guys arms in his first appearance was A Lot, as well as all the card stuff hes done..). like the part wher that blue guys (evil franky one piece) punches the ground and it leaves a crater and everyones like !!!! wow wtf thats unnatural! that literally threw me off bc that kinda thing is so normal in anime lmaoooo. but i like that thats the starting point bc it leaves a lot of room for power escalation w/out it getting too out of hand

specifially our protags are starting out pretty low on the Shounen Badass scale - especially gon (and leorio, tho i kinda predict he wont be as fight-y? what with him being premed)

i find it kinda hilarious how killua hasnt done too much (aside from murdering those 2 randos in like half a second) despite being so clearly skilled...like when they have to do the 5v5 fight thing in the tower, i wouldve thought hed be the first up cause hes so badass but nope

actually thats what i find interesting - i was expecting all 5 (or maybe 4, we’re in the middle of leorio’s ‘fight’) of the fights to be physical smackdowns but so far nope, theyve been very cerebral. that bodes well, w/how smart the fights have been, bc i doubt the fights will get stale tht way

tho they might be kinda frustrating sometimes - there are times when u DO just wanna see a good ole fashioned shounen beatdown yknow. but we do get enough of that now (and im sure we’ll get plenty more) to satisfy (like kurapika decking fake-franky)

oh also the opening. its so charming and cute and i love the song...its also so hilariously basic and classic - like one of those typical 2000s anime openings where theres stock run cycles of all the main characters and theres a little animation of all the characters fighting together (and that fight doesnt actually happen, its just for the op)

also love that leorios the only one who doesnt fight in the OP, instead getting saved from death by gon lmao. im curious if he’ll end up fighting at all (i assume a little?) and if he’ll use nen (probably healing type nen?)

also i already wanna fistfight ging for abandoning his perfect angel son. also leorio is literally gons dad already, they even look alike wow

that guy hanzo has done basically 0 things so far but i rlly like him already, im curious if thatll change. also sorry for calling u ‘hanzo overwatch!?!?!?!’ upon first viewing my guy

tonpa is str8 up so annoying pls leave u pathetic loser

tho it cracked me up when he and Evil Mr Clean were facing off and starting getting all detailed/shaded and i was like o shit is he actually badass. are we abt to see like a nen battle or st. but no....lmaooo

i found it interesting that leorio didnt really admit to wanting to be a dr at first...hes such a good dude, he kinda just let kurapika think that his motives were superficial and greedy when in actuality theyre selfless

also wanting to be rich can be a rlly interesting character motivation and i love when its done right

oh my god i cant believe it took me this long to mention the hilariously edge ED....like holy shit, its so 2000s, the song sounds like its been re-recorded like 40000 times bc of how bad the audio quality is, or something, idk how to describe music but its hilariously specific in tone and its rlly funny to see shots of the main characters smiling while this screamo whatever plays in the bg....wow.

also s/o to killua for being king of edgy with that ‘tear of blood’ shot

i rlly like how much of the plot, especially the early hunter exam stuff, is moved along simply by gon being a good kind polite boy.

love the fact that he and leorio and kurapika (and later killua) all team up without even saying anything...i love that, most shounen would have them be like ‘che, i cant team up with anyone, i have to prove myself ALONE or my victory wont be EARNED’ or w/e idk. who knows that might happen later but rn i love how they all effortlessly work together (and how they all contribute - without each other they would have all failed at different points)

oh man also killuas first appearence was so funny when he drank a bunch of tonpas poisoned drinks and was like [smirks] tch, loser, im immune to poison. get dunked on. [skateboard away] i love him so fuckgin much

i rlly love everyones backstories also, and i find it interesting that weve gotten to hear/see at least some of all 4 of the MCs backstories. theyre all compelling and interesting and i cant wait to dive in further

also calling it now but kurapika is totally gonna get way too absorbed in revenge and get fucked up/disregard their own life (maybe in the style of robin in one piece?) we’ll see but i feel like it aint gonna end well. i could be wrong, i really havent been spoiled at all, thats just my guess

also i had no idea the ep titles were formatted like that w/the x’s and thats rlly funny

ok but the part where leorio - who seems to be pretty bad at fighting - tries to fight hisoka - whose literal first appearence involved him effortlessly dissolving a dudes arms - is so fucking funny. leorio rlly b a premed w/no brain cells....same bro.

also i loved the Cutthroat Kitchen portion of the hunter exam and how not a single contestant was any good at it lmaoooo. do they not have the cooking channel in hxh-verse earth

ok i love how the main characters are all intuitive in different ways depending on their own skills, like how killua can immediately guess that kurapika has never killed anyone before after they didnt kill evil-franky

kurapika joined killua in the Edgy Corner during that part also. like, they both have legit reasons to be edgy, but the shots of kurapika sitting in the darker tunnel part was kinda funny

also killua, a literal 12 yr old, calling out kurapika for being a murder virgin was pretty hilarious

ok also i didnt know that madhouse animated hxh which is rlly funny but w/e i love the animation especially the occasional chibi parts and the facial expressions (like killuas ‘i love murder’ catboy expressions)

oh also when killua murdered those 2 guys and his hand was all vein-y and his nails were pointy, his hands looked like hisokas do...i wonder if thats a legit connection or it hisoka just b getting his nails did

kurapika talking abt how even seeing a regular spider makes them rlly angry was both very sad and kinda funny. kura u have so many issues god bless

kurapikas smackdown on evil blue franky was fuckin dope tho. and the red eyes reveal was SPOICY

rlly love how the individual fights highlights the characters strengths/morals/motivations/whatever....the writing is already really strong tbh

basically i love this series so far and im rlly curious whatll happen next. also everything seems pretty chill and upbeat so far (relatively) and i know this shit gets dark and im NOT FUCKING READY.

You know what time it is? Time for me to carry on re-reading that clusterheck known as The Misadventures of Prince Kim, on an epic journey to correct typos and question my entire life!

K we’re up to chapter 11 let’s gooooo

This is pretty much the only time in the whole thing where Max proper has a go at Kim, and honestly he deserves it!! yes nerd boy, go off!!

how to deal with the guy you’re unknowingly crushing on being your parents’ deadly enemy -- just CHALLENGE HIM TO A SWORD DUEL apparently, Kim what the actual hell

Adrien is so good and blessed... and also everything in his lil speech is gonna be a plot point in the sequel

Everything about Max and Kim’s friendship is just so good ugh that’s one thing at least I’m proud of in this fic, the epic slowburn Kimax, it’s good and I’m happy with it

Max saying “I realize that may have been short-sighted of me” is a pun by the way (because he wears glasses), pls appreciate it

“Seasons are a social construct, Max. Time is an illusion.” I will NEVER be able to outdo the genius of this line

Max’s entire reason for being in this fic is being the love interest, I swear... like in the first half of the fic he just suffers internal gay heartbreak over and over, and in the second half he’s perfectly happy with his bae and doesn’t rly have any stakes in the plot aside from wanting to keep the people he cares about safe... he’s the Love Interest(TM)

More geography lessons now, mixed in with science and history too... I know I call Max a nerd but maybe I’M the nerd

the world of the fic is so messed up, I mean Chloe’s walking around in rococo clothing and her citizens are peasant farmers wanting to guillotine her, and then there’s kingdoms like Max’s and Alix’s, who have cars and planes and phones and stuff?? this really is a game of Civ, dang

hmm... I think it’s implied that later on in the fic satellites are already in space, but here Max says they’re still being built... eh whatever I can just pretend they launched inbetween at some point or that Max’s research is a bit out of date

his speech really did have a global impact okay, I swear it was plot relevant and not just filler because I think Max is really cool and super underrated or anything

the entire Animan episode is happening on the side as a B-plot just because why not

3% Season 1 Episode 1 Re-watch (w/ spoiler commentary)

(by spoiler commentary I mean my stream of consciousness watching and thinking about the entire 2 season series)

· I didn’t realize how prevalent Marco was in the beginning. We see him walking behind Michele and even leaving his home’s caretaker (?) with the note for his son.

· Michele seems to have just been waiting for this day. She gratified her walls to keep track of time like a mock calendar, and of course the photo of Andre (her brother).

· I didn’t notice the wooden-faced man (forgot his name) seen her pass in the window on the way to the procession.

· Ivana, The wooden faced man, and I’m assuming the other dude (the one who works with Joana in S2) ((Silas??) are in that La Causa meeting – along with another I can’t recognize or remember right now.

· Joana speaks to Rafael because his registration is fake. We find out hers is as well. Although hers is “official” so to speak, maybe she wanted to see if it worked.

· Homegirl really did take that kiwi from Rafael’s bloody hand.

· Rafael was willing to do anything to pass (steal the cube) because he knows this is his only chance after stealing his brother’s registration and failing La Causa the first time. This also seemed to resonate with Joana, since we know why she can’t “go home” and who she’s running from.

· They think the fruit is too sweet because they have no goddamn fruit everything is on the offshore. Could also be an analogy for the pretty, sweet appearance of the off shore. Like it’s too good to be true.

· Bruna was shown La Causa’s symbol and asked about her opinions of them. This should be some sort of foreshadowing. Also Bruna’s little sister standing alone with three other girls, and the camera dramatically panning to her leaving up the stairs – going to a place her sister and family can no longer reach. (RIP girl)

· Did Michele help Fernando because it was a part of her cover, or because she actually wanted to help him? She grabbed that necklace in the beginning and also seen the wooden faced man, so it’s safe to assume the moment she stepped out of her house she was in anarchy mode. If Fernando hadn’t helped her, she would have been eliminated. Interesting the two moles both couldn’t pass the test, but one relied on himself and the other outside help. This mirrors the s2 ending where Rafael is alone trying to help himself and repair things with his girlfriend Elisa, and Michele is asking Fernando for help.

· Fernando really does hate his father. My first time watching this series, until his dad double crossed him I thought maybe he was exaggerating. But he really does detest him and doesn’t want to be like him. He also mentions something about wanting his mobility back, but we know that’s a lie because he’s comfortable in his wheelchair. Unless, he did feel that way but after his elimination those feelings also went away. Or maybe it was when he was told he could walk again and confided in Michele? Either way, this is something to look out for.

· Marco really isn’t shit. I knew this my first watch, but seeing him again lie and (seemingly) flirt with the interviewer just re-affirms that. Then bragging about how he is an Alvarez to Agata. Then decided to play “good guy” and breakup the mob that was attacking Rafael. Again, interesting that they have this parallel again but instead Rafael is trying to stop Marco from harming people.

· Joana is an absolute fucking genius, I mean can we just give it up for her? She was my favorite, along with Rafael and Fernando being a close third. 11 cubes? Seeing through everyone’s bullshit but not getting involved? Catching Ezequiel’s eye early on?

· Speaking of Ezequiel, during his speech he looked up to where Julia used to stand. He also did some jedi mind fuckery with speaking to certain candidates. Still not sure how he pulled that off.

· Michele, like Gloria in s2, does not repeat Ezequiel’s mantra the first time he has everyone else repeat it.

· Vape Goddess™ Aline was serving looks and being sexy as all hell. Even dare I say, a bit intimidating? She really got Ezequiel good about his wife’s suicide, would have loved to have seen the outcome of that before he was interrupted.

· Of course, Ezequiel enjoys half drowning himself because it reminds him of his dead wife who soothed him with water and sensatory manipulation. His stress triggers him to resort to that.

· The murder had just taken place where Andre murdered someone after finding out the truth of the founding trio.

I know Aline is appalled, and I don’t know if that was some sort of dog and pony show he was putting on – but can we talk about how toxic that water dunk has become? It was initially sensual and calming, but mixed with E’s feelings of grief and his slim grip on shifting power paradigms, it’s turned into something terrifying. Forcibly shutting out the world – silence – but also a sort of sick rebirth for those he manipulates. I think of Michele a lot writing this bullet point and her s2 relationship with water after Joana tells E to go fuck himself and Michele becomes the protégée.

· “I do this every day to remind myself that what we do is a matter of life and death” so maybe it is also to bury feelings of guilt, shame and inadequacy – the voluntary near death drowning in a glass sink thing.

· In the Michele flashback where the wooden man is coaching her, it reminds me of the scene when Rafael meets Elisa. The computers didn’t pick up in their personality analysis that Michele was lying. Elisa and Rafael were not compatible. Can the machines only pick up certain personality types and not deviants? Do they rely on honesty? Because Marco lied through his teeth, Michele lied through her teeth, Rafael lied through his teeth…Does this have something to do with the Founding Trio or a modification by the Founding Couple?

· Of course the old man wisely advises Michele to stay away from his protégé Ezequiel. She should have listened too, we could have been spared the poison catastrophe later on.

· I think she really is grieving Bruna’s death, but it’s interesting the conversation of “holding back tears” comes to her mind just before her actions. Like this is Michele now, crying and grieving before going back to the snake mole that she is 98% of the rest of her time there.

· Can we talk about homegirl’s shoes though? Are those suede booties? ·

summary: while you and your school friend sungjin sat outside, looking through old photos he finally talks to you about your feelings

“I remember when we were in 9th grade and you couldn’t wait to finally graduate. You thought life would be so so great after graduation. I never wanted to graduate, I always was afraid of what would happen after.”, Sungjin, one of the people you consider as the closest to you, said to you while sitting on your balcony. Two glasses of wine in front of you, enjoying the sunset.

“And now look what happened. The girl who always wanted to graduate is still looking for her dream while the boy who was afraid is in a famous band, having the time of his life, with girls and glory.”, you joked but Sungjin didn’t laugh.

“Hey! Don’t talk so bad about your life. Your dream will come. I know you, you won’t give up before you find it anyway. Where’s this sudden pessimism coming from?”, he looked at you a bit worried. Since the two of you couldn’t see each other that often anymore it seems like all he does is worry about you.

“The time you spend worrying about me would be better spend by you getting another bottle of wine for the two of us.”, you said, not wanting to deepen the conversation. The little time you have together is too special to waste it with problems.

“Oh my god! I thought I’d get a snack for us too and I went to your kitchen and you are so cute.”, Sungjin said as he came outside, breathless as if he ran outside, wine in one hand and cheese in the other one.

“Thank you. But why?”, you said in confusion, not knowing where this sudden compliment came from.

“The photos!”, he said excited.

“The photos?”, you still had no idea what he meant.

“The photos!”, he repeated, “on your fridge. Where did you find all of those?”

Oh. The photos. A few months ago you hung up old photos from your school time all over the frigde, him only now seeing them made you realize how long Sungjin wasn’t at your apartment.

“Oh they are the cutest, aren’t they? Wait-”, you said getting up, “sit down and open the bottle. I’ll be right back.”

You brought out an old photobook, one your mother made you after you graduated from high school. “I found this a few months ago. It made me smile so much. It’s full of memories.”

You and Sungjin now both sat on the bench outside, the book in front of you. He sat very close to you which is nothing special but sometimes still made your heart race. His thighs were almost pressed against yours and his arm was behind your back, putting his hand to the empty space beside you to have a better look at the photobook. After all this time you still find yourself thinking about him. But he became even more handsome and now he can have even more women. It was more pointless than ever before.

“Look at us as freshman. We were so pure and sweet.”, Sungjin said when seeing a picture of you two on your first day as freshman.

You let out a big laugh, “Oh god. No we really were not pure. Remember this?”, you skipped a few pages forward, finding on of the notes you and Sungjin wrote each other during class.

- I’m not going to lie, I can see your underwear through your leggings. It’s pretty hot.

Sungjin! You shouldn’t stare. But thanks, glad you like it. I got new pairs.

- Show me the other ones tonight?

You wish you pervert.

Sungjin became red, bursting out in laughter while reading the note. “We were so thirsty in high school. Remember when Mr. Grey told you to read it out loud and you read it without even being a bit ashamed. I was so impressed.”

“One of the most embarrassing things I ever did now that I think about it. I don’t even know why we wrote each other stuff like this. My mum put that note in here, what did she think I wonder?”

“Your mum always shipped us. She always wanted us to date”, Sungjin said not knowing how much you actually wanted the two of you to date back in the day.

You looked at more photos while it slowly became dark outside, drinking your wine and getting slightly tipsy.

“Look what a good friend I was!”, Sungjin said pointing to a picture of the two of you, “I even carried your books.”

“Yes, you are a hero. You only carried them because you broke my arm and I was unable to carry them. It was your own fault.”, you said accusing.

“OH GOD (Y/N). I said sorry seventy times when will you finally forgive me?”

“I just don’t know why you think it was a good idea to slam dunk me in the pool in the first place Sungjin.”, you said shaking your head.

“It wasn’t my fault, you were standing in front of me in nothing but a bikini. I was just a teenager with a crush on his best friend, getting a boner. I didn’t think at all.”, Sungjin said laughing but stopped as soon as he noticed you being shocked.

You really should get yourself together but you just couldn’t. “You-”, you stuttered, a small smile on your lips, “you had a crush on me?”

“How the hell did you never notice? Are you being serious?”, Sungjin laughed even more now, “I always had one. I just was too shy to ask you out. Even though you had a crush on me too.”

You took a big sip of your wine, choking when he said that. “You knew?”, now you were even more shocked, “How did you know?”

“Uhm, (y/n), not to be rude but are you delusional? There was the biggest tension between us. Do you really think I told you you are cute and pretty all the time because I was being nice?”, Sungjin said, now shocked two that you really never noticed his crush on him.

“I.. I didn’t think you really meant that.”, you admited but now thinking about it it all made sense. Instead of feeling happy you felt a wave of jealousy and anger inside you. You didn’t know if it was the alcohol or if it was just what you felt.

“I can’t believe you never tried to hit on me. We flirted all the time and I always thought you had no interest. If you knew I liked you why didn’t you try to become my boyfriend? I would’ve never dated that asshole Alex. We could’ve been happy, who knows maybe right now you would still be my boyfriend. But now I will forever imagine what it would be like to kiss you and be your girlfriend and sleep beside you not as friends only- oh wow. I-”, you stopped when you realized what you just said.

“You’re cute when you are rambling.”, Sungjin said being flirty. You hated him being flirtly. You saw him flirt with other girls and it was usually cringy but when he flirted with you he was always relaxed and cool, one of the reason why you didn’t interpreted anything into it.

Your face was still tense but looking at him smiling at you made you calm down. He just stared at you, then he got the blanket beside you and put it over the two of you since it got dark and cold. The next step he did was putting his arm around your shoulder, sitting even nearer beside you than he did before. Before he said something he leaned back on the bench, forcing you to join him.

Now the two of you were cuddling outside under a blanket. “I didn’t try to become your boyfriend because I was sure I want to play in a band later. I know how much attention and affection you need and I didn’t want you to become used to me as your boyfriend because I couldn’t leave then. That’s selfish I know. I wanted to kill Alex when you started dating. Since the first day I was waiting for it to end.”, his voice became a whisper, his cheek was leaned against your forehead while you both looked in the sky. You wanted to look at him but he wouldn’t let you turn your head around, “Believe me, I thought about just kissing you a lot. Back then and still. Sometimes I just start to think about you and get the feeling I should come over right now. I know I missed a big opportunity but I just didn’t want to hurt us.”

You nodded, understanding your best friend. Finally he let you move your head, looking at his face that was right in front of yours. “That’s actually really sweet of you.”

“I always told your mother about how much I adore you. That’s why she wanted us to be together. She also told me about your crush on me.”, Sungjin confessed laughing.

“I can’t believe you talked to my mother about this. That’s so embarrassing.”, you said, “you know I am actually really cold. I don’t know what your plan is for tonight and for the future but I will go to bed now and if you want you can join me.”

His eyes widened, “Really?”, he asked.

“Yes, I guess we have a lot of missed opportunitys that we should make up for.”, you said standing up making your way to bed as Sungjin follows you.
