and he had it BAD. he had never been down so bad before. he didn’t know what to do with himself. especially because of who exactly his heart yearned for

law is very introverted, plus he would rather keep his emotions to himself rather than express them to other people

but you, oh you, his COMPLETE OPPOSITE. the yin to his yang if you will.

you were the brightest ray of sunshine. unafraid to be yourself and stick up for what you believe in. you, much like your captain luffy, looked danger in the face and took it on head first...even if it wasn’t always the best thing to do

all of you strawhats always ended up ruining law’s well drawn out plans, including you

so why did you always bring a little smile to his face ?? that smile he tried to hide when you looked his way

that look of panic on his face when he sees you were injured. but he lets out a breath of relief when he sees you’re pretty much fine and are already smiling

he may pretend like he doesn’t care, but it’s clear to EVERYONE that he does, especially the rest of the heart pirates

it takes him FOREVER to come to terms with exactly what he feels and realizing that he cares for you in a romantic way. he was fighting demons when in reality it’s his own feelings

and he doesn’t realize it until he was patching you up, following a battle. there was a cut on your cheek he was tending to. but seeing you stare up at him with those pretty eyes of yours, was making it hard to focus

HE WAS NERVOUS HE’S SO IN LOVE WITH YOU OMFG

now...law knows he’s in love with you by this point. but he doesn’t know how to tell you, nor does he really want to tell you

he’s worried about being rejected plus he knows there’s a possibility that it wouldn’t work out. so being the pessimist he is, he just decided against it entirely

but that didn’t keep his crew from cracking jokes about you to him, especially shachi and penguin

it was a harmless “law and y/n, sitting in a tree. k-i-s-s-i-n-g” joke...neither of them expected you to be around the corner coming to ask law for something. and you heard...

they were so dead...

they’re deader than dead when they hear you say “law, you like me?”

he definitely does the “yeah i do, but it’s whatever” because he wants to play it off in case you don’t feel the same

when you return his feelings he’s shocked !! he’s quite confused as to why someone as bright and loving as you would like someone as dark and brooding as him

he’d think you’d deserve better, even though he IS better <33

gets kind of quiet because he’s not really sure what to do now that he knows you feel the same way as he does. he didn’t think he’d ever get this far

*psst* grab his hand and swing it a little and ask him “what now?”
