#and them falling asleep together.... on the couch.... recovering from being so uncharacteristically vulnerable around each other...

This is kind of veering off from the whole Shadow Mookie concept, but… Do you think Adachi would take care of Maruki and help him recover after saving him from the TV World? Maybe they could get to know each other even better in that time… :’)
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
That would be so sweet... :')
I imagine that Adachi tries to pick Takuto up "to get this done with as quickly as possible" but he trips and falls on top of him, much to his embarrassment. Takuto might be weak from the confrontation, but he still chuckles, making Adachi even more flustered, before he goes "whatever, we're doing this the hard way" and just wraps his arm around Takuto's back, helping him stand up, so they walk side by side until they leave the TV World.
Once outside, Adachi decides to take Takuto to his place (because it's closer? Because he doesn't want them to be seen together? Because he can't risk Takuto telling anyone else about the TV World? *Insert your excuse of choice here*)
Adachi is also wiped, both from fighting Shadow Takuto and from having to practically carry him there, so, as soon as they arrive, they both plop down on the couch next to each other and simply sit together for a while. Once he catches his breath, Adachi gets Takuto something to drink and apologizes for not having anything to eat, if only to be a decent host, and waits until Takuto is a bit more composed to talk about what happened.
They begin by discussing the nature of the TV World, with Takuto trying to make sense of everything that went down, connecting it to his research, and with Adachi filling in with bits and pieces of what he knows. Then Takuto would pause, before saying “So... that place was a manifestation of the feelings I’ve been trying to suppress for so long...” which would lead them to talk a bit about the things that Shadow Takuto said. Since Takuto has just accepted his Shadow, this is the first time he’s opening up to anyone about those feelings... but he feels as if it’s necessary to start healing at last. Plus, he trusts Adachi, so, if he has to talk to anyone about it, he’s glad it’s him.
Adachi listens and comments occasionally, but, then, he leans back, smiling as nonchalantly as possible, and says, "Hey, for what it's worth, you're not the only one who's always putting on a smile to hide the things no one don't want to see. Your secret's safe with me."
Since Adachi now knows a bunch of Takuto's secrets, he figures that it's only fair to share something in return, even if it's just a little, only to keep things fair. He's reluctant to say much at first, so he doesn't go into detail, but he slowly realizes that Takuto is really easy to talk to, because he's earnest, he's a good listener, he always asks the right questions, and he doesn't judge. Before he knows it, Adachi is telling him about things that he hasn't told anyone before and letting Takuto see the real him... Of course he’s gonna regret that as soon as he finishes talking, but it’ll help him realize that Takuto is trustworthy.
I want them to do that really cliché thing where Adachi is talking about his feelings, but Takuto catches onto what he means and they both end the sentence at the same time... Adachi is caught off guard, while Takuto smiles gently, and Adachi looks away, blushing, and abruptly changes the subject, going "well, it doesn't matter anyway."
To distract Takuto and lighten the mood a little, Adachi turns on the TV, which prompts Takuto to ask about what he wants to watch, and Adachi goes “eh... nothing you’d be interested in,” but, once Takuto starts talking about his own tastes, Adachi starts feeling even more at ease, and the conversation soon drifts away from the original subject, since both of them are too caught up in the moment to notice. Eventually, the exhaustion from being trapped in the TV World and then trying to remain alert catches up to Takuto, who falls asleep on the couch - bonus points if he falls asleep on Adachi, who immediately malfunctions thanks to Takuto’s warmth and soft hair. Bonus bonus points if Adachi tries to leave without waking Takuto up, but he weakly holds onto him in his sleep, and Adachi’s heart just goes !!!
Feels like the ideal time for some feelings realization, don’t you think? :’)
