what would isabel wear to yule if she picked her own outfit? (uve mentioned before that her dress is picked for her so im curious to know what she would have worn if she could choose it for herself) :)
YEEEEEEEESSYESYES YES!!!! I’VE BEEN HOPING SOMEONE WOULD ASK THIS FOR AAAAGES!!! ANON YOURE THE BEST!!<333
Clears my throat. Will Smith pose. I present:
THE LENNI FOR FREE PEOPLE CHROMATIC SUIT IN RED 🌟✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She would look SOOOOOOOO CUTE IN THIS!! Isabel would KILL the 'bi woman in a suit' look!!!!!!
It’s velvet so you KNOW it would be so soft. And the sequin stars are SO EXCITING and EXPRESSIVE and FUN, they're the perfect visual representation of her cheery energy and flashy tendencies. Plus they’re shiny, literally making her the star (hehe) of the room.
I think this would fit her personality PERFECTLY. It’s fun and dazzling and daring and slightly edgy - dressed down and super casual, but decadent. This, plus a fun crop top or bralette underneath like in pictures 2+3, and a pair of glossy pointed bright red boots would be THE look of the evening. I’d accessorize it with a high bun that has loose pieces in front to frame her face, and some thick gold jewelry to bring out the warm tones in her skin. This would be a great way to blend her cooler tomboyish style with her cuter feminine style that Zack uses more in promo illustrations.
Isabel isn’t usually blingy and is a very practical dresser. yule is the one night when she could indulge and really have fun with how she dresses, so i'm going all in on this hypothetical scenario

For a softer look, go for cream or ivory.

High-Waist Bottoms
Pants, skirts, skinny jeans and shorts make you look taller by creating the illusion of long legs. High-waisted bottoms can be paired with tuck-in tailored blouses, crop tops / blouses and button-down shirts. High-waisted skirts should be up to the knees.
Women with straight and pear-shaped bodies should avoid high-waisted bottoms. Crop tops and bralettes look great on young petite girls.

Women who fall under a small body should wear a V-neck or V-neck blouse, T-shirt, shirt or dress to make their neck look longer. You can opt for short-sleeved or sleeveless blouses and dresses.

Petite women should go for saree with short edges or no edges. Vertical prints and small print saree are the perfect choice. Chiffon, Joset, and Shimmer’s Sally are particular about their body shape, so buy them. Don’t wear silk, candibalum, cotton or woven saree as they add volume to your body.

APPAREL BUYING GUIDE // Atlantic-Pacific Collection
At your request I am talking through the apparel in the collection in to preparation for tomorrow’s launch! The collection will go live at 9am EST on nordstrom.com and will be sold in 36 stores (note not all stores will have the full assortment/size run). The collection will follow general Halogen sizing, but I am noting below the styles that were intended to have a more tailored fit as well as those intended to have a larger or more relaxed fit.
For your reference I am 5’7 and wear a size 0/XS in all of the below pieces. I typically wear a size 0 in J.Crew, Size 4 in Topshop, Size 4 in ASOS and size 25 in most contemporary denim brands. As an FYI, Halogen generally runs slightly larger than brands such as Topshop and ASOS! Hopefully this information, the pricing, and all of the product details below will help you shop with a bit more ease. Any questions please send my way in the comments!
I’m so excited about this launch and want to thank everyone for their support. As a reminder, I will be in L.A. next week hosting a fun event at the Nordstrom Local on Melrose. The event will be from 5:30-7:30pm on Wednesday, 10/24. For those of you in L.A., I hope to see you there!
THE MIDI COAT // $249 // This coat is one of my favorite pieces in the collection. It has a more tailored fit at the shoulders and waist and is longer in length. While it runs true to size, it is purposely cut tighter to the body, so you may want to consider sizing up if you are planning on wearing bulky sweaters or multiple layers underneath! The sweaters in the line that have more fitted sleeves, such as the solid lurex and striped turtleneck (both pictured above and more details below), pair so well with this gorgeous coat! You can see it styled both here and here.
BLACK POLKA DOT SKIRT // $129 // With a slightly longer length, this style is perfect for all your holiday occasions this season. It works equally well with a belted blazer as it does with a sweater! See it worn here.
PINK LAYERED TULLE SKIRT // $99 // The perfect statement skirt for dressing up or down! This skirt features an elastic waistband, is slightly shorter than the black dot skirt, and runs very true to size! I’ve been styling this skirt with absolutely everything! See it worn here.
SLIPS // $49 (dot) $59 (tulle) // We created a few slips within the collection to give the option of adding additional volume to the midi skirts. In each post I have done so far, I have been wearing one of these slips to give just a little more wow to the look!
THE STRIPE TURTLENECK // $79 // This extremely cozy sweater was designed to be more fitted in the sleeves but have an easier body – i.e. perfect for layering beneath coats! If you are looking to go more fitted I would size down, but please note that this sweater isn’t intended to be truly fitted, but rather to have more of a relaxed look in the body. For your reference, in all of the styling posts where I have featured this piece, I am wearing an XS, which is my typical sweater size! See it worn here.
THE BLACK PANTS // $99 (wide leg) $89 (ankle pant) // The sailor pants are high waisted, with a wide leg, and run true to size! The paperbag pant is cut to hit at the low ankle and designed to sit at the true waist.
THE STRIPE LUREX SWEATER // $59 // Also available in solids (pink, blue, and black)! This is the most fitted sweater in the collection, and intended to have a tight fit that is perfect for tucking into the skirts in the collection or simply wearing untucked back to denim. The navy grounded multi is my favorite and is the piece I have been wearing the most of late!
THE TIE FRONT SWEATER // $149 // The content of this sweater is 70% wool, 30% cashmere – a super cozy blend! This sweater is a more voluminous fit but the tie allows you to create more definition at the waistline. The black is perfect for casual holiday occasions!
PLEATED COLORBLOCK DRESS & SKIRT // $149 (dress) $99 (skirt) // These colorblock pieces have the perfect pop of fall color. Cut back to navy and to black respectively, they pair easily back to all the neutrals in your closet. The skirt has an elastic waistband and the dress is designed with a back zip – both styles fit true to size! You can see them worn here.
THE BOW LACE DRESS // $159 // This details of this dress are to die for. The wider cuff with pearl buttons, velvet bows at front, and lux lace make this an incredible value. I have paired this dress back to the black wide belt in the collection and plaid midi coat.
THE BOW FRONT BLOUSE // $89 // Easily my favorite piece in the collection, this top is everything I want in an item! Both the dress and top have a faux front placket and a back zip that give them a bit more ease, and FYI both are true to size!
PLEATED PRINTED SKIRTS // $99 // These easy to pull on skirts are done in the prints of the collection. The sweep on this skirt is quite full, giving it lots of movement, and the waistband construction creates a great little ruffle at the top. If you are looking to add some print to your fall wardrobe this is such an easy way to do it! See it worn here.
THE PJ BLOUSE // $79 // This blouse is offered in two prints as well as a solid black! The top has a sweet peter pan collar, hidden placket, and white pipping throughout. It is meant to be a slightly more relaxed fit and a longer length – perfect for pairing back to skinny jeans!
PEARL BUTTON FLORAL DRESS // $129 // This dress is the shortest length dress in the collection. Hitting above the knee, this dark floral number is great with a pair of pumps or with OTK boots!
THE WRAP BLOUSE // $79 // I would consider this blouse one of the staples in the collection. Slightly longer in the back, this faux wrap top is the perfect weekend top with jeans and riding boots!
THE TEDDY COAT // $249 // This is the most oversized coat in the collection and is meant to be a more voluminous style. This coat was designed with layering in mind, so you can wear bulky sweaters, and in some cases even another jacket under – you know I love a double coat situation! The faux fur is ultra soft and I love the oversized pockets.
THE POLO SWEATER // $69 // Similar to the lurex stripe sweater and lurex sweater, this style is fitted and was styled tucked back to many pieces in the collection. It has a wide rib and includes lurex tipping at the sleeves and placket as well as pearl buttons for a feminine touches.
THE SOLID LUREX SWEATER // $59 // This sweater, like the lurex stripe, is a more fitted lightweight sweater. I have been loving the touch of lurex throughout this style – especially in black as the perfect anything but boring holiday staple. This may be your layering go-to this season!
THE FAUX FUR TRIM TWEED JACKET // $199 // Made from a beautiful rainbow tweed, this cropped coat is beautiful, yet wearable. The faux fur trims on both the cuffs and the collar are removable, making it a great transition piece from fall into the winter season.
THE LACE TRENCH // $199 // Matching the lace in the bow dress, this trench is a twist on a fall classic. A dark navy with black piping, this piece is easy to mix and match with your neutral shoes and accessories.
THE BLACK BOW JACKET // $169 // While I love the rainbow tweed, I also wanted a more everyday tweed coat in the collection. This cardigan style jacket with a cute chiffon bow is frequently paired back the black polka dot skirt, but is also the perfect fit back to denim. Note: this style is cut a bit more boxy and isn’t meant to be a fitted piece!
CASHMERE BLEND BLOUSON SLEEVE SWEATER // $189 // We have a wide array of sweaters in the collection, and this one is by far the most feminine. All of the details were considered, from the pearl button shoulder details, to the wider rib, to the cashmere blend to the blouson sleeve. It is fitted through the body but the sleeves are purposefully more voluminous to crease a blouson!
THE BUTTON BLAZER // $169 // At the Chicago pre-shop event there were quite a few styles that flew out quickly and this blazer was one of them. Done in a thicker fabrication this style feels more like outerwear than a typical blazer.
THE CABLE CREW // $79 // This cable crew is a bit more relaxed and slightly longer length than you may find in a more traditional cable crew sweater. The lilac is my favorite hue, but all the colors pair so well back to the woven PJ top in the collection.
THE LUREX DOT SWEATER // $79 // More dots please! We created this lurex dot sweater to be worn with the polka dot skirt, but it honestly goes with so many items in the collection (I love how so many women in Chicago paired it with the paperbag pant)! This sweater is slightly more fitted with a bracelet length sleeve.
THE BLAZER // $149 // I styled this blazer as a suiting piece as well as wore this blazer alone back to denim, colored pants and even the tulle skirts. This blazer is a boyfriend fit and is meant to be a more relaxed, longer length! See it styled here.
THE CROPPED TROUSERS // $99 // Similar to the blazer these mid rise trousers were fit with a wider leg and meant to hit at the ankle. The length is perfect as these can be worn back to pumps, booties or of course the oxfords in the collection. See it styled here.
THE METAL BUTTON SKIRT // $89 // Matching the button detailing of the blazer, this pencil skirt is most fitted skirt option within the collection.
THE FIT AND FLARE DRESS // $139 // An easy knit dress that is comfortable and can be styled for a night out! We created this style in a thicker ponte fabrication and added seaming details and pearl touches to really elevate the style and create an anything-but-boring knit dress that can be worn into the holiday season!
RAINBOW TWEED DRESS // $149 // Rainbow tweed, pearl buttons and eyelash fringe… all the makings of a fun, fall dress! The multi colored tweed allows you to mix and match with so many colors, but if you are more of a matchy-matchy girl like me pair this frock back to the tweed flats seen here!
**PS see the accessories buying guide here and footwear will be published later today!
