More of George still whining and crying over Lando using him as an example of how top teams don't (generally) offer the work-life balance he's looking for and then George comparing himself to a driver stuck in the midfield because he had so much fun standing on the podium 7 times more than Lando. Idk the comment in itself isn't my problem, it's his fans reactions to it. "That cunt only got that podium out of luck." A). He's a cunt for using George as an example of how time-consuming a team like Mercedes was, something George even confirmed himself in his first response? I'd love to see how they feel about the Bottas incident then. Or even George's little comment to Lando in that press conference not long after Sochi, knowing himself the emotional toll that being so close to a win and not getting it took, but still choosing to mock his friend for it? B). I'd love to see their justification of basically every George/Merc podium at the beginning/middle of the season. Capitalizing on other teams'/drivers' errors. Yet the podiums and success from that are only undeserved if it's Lando, apparently. "He got more podiums in one season than Lando got in his entire career!" Please, point me to a single season where Lando was in a top car/team. Just one. A single season.

I'm obviously not a big George fan, but my god his fans are so threatened by Lando it's not even funny. George points-wise outscored his 7 time WDC teammate, yet they're more concerned with comparing him to a driver who's stuck in the midfield. It also just amazes me that Lando can make some of the mildest comments about George and it's time to get out the pitchforks and go after this little c*nt/dick/asshole/etc. yet George can be unnecessarily cruel (again, the comments after Sochi, for just one example) and "hehe Georgie so funny, get that little dick, kick him while he's down!" I'm all about sarcasm. I even use it a lot! I think Lando, George, Alex, basically all the Brits have made funny sarcastic comments before, but it amazes me how some borderline cruel comments are knocked off as "just sarcasm" if they're directed towards Lando, yet Lando makes a weak sarcastic joke towards anyone and he's a dick. Amazing how that works, really.

Ah, so once again it comes down to the crux of it all - 'fans' 🙃

I've just answered another one with my thoughts on where George's initial saltiness came from about that comment Lando made (and I believe it was also twisted to sound worse than it was)

As you said, it's not the comment itself - that's obviously a joke, it's banter, it's "bit sweaty?" "that's champagne mate" - it's the fan reaction and taking it and running with it and making it bigger than it has any need to be

I've said it before, I'm a Merc hater, and I always have been, probably always will be. But I can say it's a lot easier to win podiums in a Merc than in a McLaren, especially this season. And obviously George was very limited the past 3 years, being with Williams and how that car never even really landed in the points let alone got near the podium, so of course he's going to celebrate his achievements this season, but at the end of the day, no matter how shitty the W-13 has been compared to previous Merc cars, it's still one of the best on the grid. It's still a "big 3" car, it's still capable of wins and podiums - the MCL36 was a carrot on wheels and Lando drove it fantastically, consistently putting it where it really did not belong (and George even complimented that himself)

But it's as you said, the way his fans (some not all) blow it out of proportion and use it to belittle and put down Lando is not it, and luckily for me I have most of those sort blocked so I don't have to see it. We can all just take comfort from, as I've said before, Lando never being homeless
