Texting Bakugou that you got hurt at work as he starts freaking out in his office and getting ready to blast his way to your building, until you answer his FaceTime call and show him the Dynamight plaster now wrapped around your finger as you pout into the camera and ask him “Are you gonna kiss it better?”

Rating Penthouse: War In Life characters
I asked my followers on Instagram to give me Penthouse characters to rate and my thoughts about them so I thought to post it here as well. Now this is my personal opinion about how I feel about the characters and how much I will rate them
⚠️⚠️THIS CONTAINS A FEW SPOILERS⚠️⚠️
My Instagram: Tempobaek
Logan Lee
Tumblr media
10/10
Lemme just say I love him SO MUCH
LOGAN LEE BEST BOY
I absolutely loved his character and the fact that he was one of the few people who wants justice and is honest made me love him even more
Him playing Go Hu Dong was amazing as well and I didn't recognize him at all at first like he played it so well with the accent, costume and wig and everything
His accent and language switch in between English and the Busan accent Korean was so fucking sexy🥵
✨Mr. Joo✨
My man was also smart with his revenge
He was also serving amazing LOOKS every episode in the two seasons and I loved every single one of them
And I'm going to be honest here, after watching the preview for S2 ep13 his laugh was creepy in one of the clips and after reading a few theories I lowkey thought that he would be the next villian
I regret suspecting him now
But instead of that they gave us a bigger plot twist and blew up our man with a bomb😩
He literally went ✨LiGhT iT Up LiKe DyNaMiTe✨ (I'm so sorry)
I would've rather have him be a villian than die in the bomb
I MISS HIM ALREADY AND LOVE HIM SO MUCH😭
DID I MENTION THAT I LOVE HIM
Joo Seok Kyung

Another one that annoyed me angered me so much🙄
Like she was ruthless and had no mercy when it came to bullying and putting people down that she thought were a rival or putting people down in general
She didn't change even when Rona died
She also went as far as to like cheat her way to win the Cheong Ah Art High School trophy and blackmailed Cheon Seojin to win the trophy
But there were times where she would show emotions and those would be often her break down and weak moments
And those moments would really show how she is broken inside and puts up a careless and brave image, she is someone who needs healing even though healing takes time
I also saw someone saying like 'oh Seok Kyung hates her mom so much'
Yeah she hated her mom but she didn't hate her to death like she didn't wish death upon her
Seok Kyung was heart broken when she heard Suryeon's death and that showed that she still loved her mom even though Suryeon didn't give birth to them
I was heart broken when I saw that she cut her hair because here was no one there to tie it for her bc Suryeon loved Seok Kyungs long hair and that's why she didn't cut it but after he mothers death no one was there to tie her hair for her
I started seeing her in a different light after a while bc again it showed that he character was very broken emotionally and needed healing
I'm interested about seeing more of her character development after the last ep where she defended Rona
Also my girl is so hot, another one that was serving amazing looks
Joo Seok Hoon
Tumblr media
8/10
He was lowkey annoying at first ngl
Like my man was just🧍🏻‍♂️
It annoyed me so much how he defended his sister so much, fell for her tricks, covered up for her and did anything she said EVEN though its wrong
But after some time I understood that he cared for and that she was the only family left to him
I mean Seok Hoon hate Joo Dan Tae so he doesn't counts and Suryeon was dead at the moment
I will still not forgive him for bullying Seol A even though he regrets it
It also annoyed me how he didn't stood up for Rona at all in the first season even though he liked her
By he got so much better in S2, he was even part in the revenge plan
He is literally the human CCTV camera in Hera Palace like he knows more than even the viewers know
The way he was protective of Rona when he found out she was alive was so aDORABLE
And my man was amazing in the last episodes
I love him
Cheon Seo Jin
Tumblr media
4/10
THIS WOMAN MAKES MY BLOOD FUCKING BOIL
Like I sometimes just was to 🤜🏻👩🏻
But sometimes I wanna hug her😩
Idk I feel like she became a horrible person bc of greed and that he father and mother placed too high expectations for her
Instead of praising her for her accomplishments her parents wanted her to do more
Maybe that's why she was desperate for love and affection and found that in Joo Dan Tae even though he pretended to like her
But that definitely does not dismiss her horrible actions
But also the harsh past made her the could hearted person, like she left her father to die
She felt more care towards her daughter after she almost lost her because Eunbyeol tried to commit suicide
She was in alot of pain and you could see it in her cries and when she was on the phone with the person
Soyeon's acting was amazing in that scene
She started to care more about her ex husband and daughter when she saw how much Eunbyeol was suffering and she realized that she genuinely liked Ha Yoon Chul hwen she saw how horrible Joo Dan Tae was
I did feel bad for her sometimes but after seeing that she didn't change I really didn't feel any sympathy for her
She needs therapy
Girlie was shocked when the doctor said she is losing her voice like bestie you are screaming every episode
She was also serving amazing looks every episode
Ha Yoon Chul
Tumblr media
5/10
The first male character I simped for
Like I am not going to deny it but he is hot🥵
But the first few episodes he was an absolute asshole and greedy
But I never expected him to be Yoonhee's ex boyfriend
I did like him a tiny bit when he saved Yoon Hee from Kyu Jin
His entrance in S2 with the helicopter was damn hot
And I WAS SO SHOCKED WHEN HE SAID MEET MY WIFE OH YOON HE
LIKE YAY MY SHIP IS SAILING
I spoke too soon
His character development and fighting skills were hot as well
He was ADORABLE with Rona and Yoonhee
I seriously thought that Rona was his daughter
BUT THAN AT THE CHEONG AH FESTIVLE OOF SIR I WANTED TO PUNCH HIM
I WAS SO MAD WHEN HE SABOTAGED RONA'S PERFORMANCE
I began hating him after that💀
Like he went 📈📉 with his character development
AND THEN HE CLEANED EUNBYEOL'S MEMORY FROM THAT NIGHT LIKE SIR SKSHSKSHKS SHE DID HAT TO YOUR DAUGHTER
I actually asked my dad what he thought about what Yoon Chul did and this was his reponse:
"If you look at it from a parents perspective they would want to do anything if they saw their child in pain like he did but I would've also scolded her and had a conversation with her about why she did it instead of wiping her memory from that night like he did. "
So that's that
I LOVED IT WHEN YOON HEE CAME WITH THAT BLOW AND TOLD HIM RONA WAS HER DAUGHTER
Jonghoon's acting was chef's kiss in that scene
I was going to rate him a 4 but I gave him that 5 when I saw how he was at court, he admitted to his wrong doings but also still had feelings for Yoon Hee
I wanna see his reaction in s3 to Rona now bc now that he got to know that is his daughter I wonder how he will be
Lee Kyu Jin
Tumblr media
1/10
AN ASSHOLE
USELESS
WHY IS HE HERE
Like I have nothing to say about him rather than I hate him and that he useless just like his wife and son
HE IS LITERALLY NOTHING WITHOUT HIS MOM
I'm only giving him that one bc he was funny in the episodes
THATS THE ONLY REASON HE IS THERE JUST FOR COMEDY PURPOSES
Go Sang Ah
Tumblr media
0.5/10
ANNOYING 2.0
USELESS 2.0
ALL SHE DOES IS SPEND HER HUSBAND AND MOTHER IN LAW'S MONEY
LIKE SHE AIN'T EVEN WORKS
UNLIKE KANG MARI
The only thing she does is gossip
And spills the tea☕
SHE IS LITERALLY NOTHING WITHPUT HER HUSBAND AND HIS FAMILY
Giving her a 0.5 bc she is kinda funny eh
Lee Minhyuk
Tumblr media
0/10
ANNOYING 3.0
USELESS 3.0
ASSHOLE 2.0
Idk if it runs in the family but again he is useless
And a dumbass
He also nothing without his parents
Why is he there tho like you ain't even funny
All he can do is cause trouble
And bullied Jenny
His dumbass slipped and broke his own arm and blamed it on Rona smh🤦🏻‍♀️
Sometimes I just wanna 🤜🏻👦🏻
Also my dude was trying to sound all intimidating by saying
"Oh Jenny's father is a scary man, yOuR dEaD BaE rOnA"
Like dude worry about yourself bitch you are dead first for bullying Jenny
But like I hate the character but LOVE THE ACTOR HE IS SO HOT OMFG
Joo Dan Tae
Tumblr media
0/10
ANOTHER ONE THAT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH AND MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL
SOMETIMES I DONT WANNA 🤜🏻 I WANNA 🔪
LIKE I HATE HIM WITH A FUCKING PASSION
I DONT CARE ABOUT HIS PAST OR ANYTHING HE IS A GREASY, GREEDY, PSYCHO, OBSESSIVE MANIPULATIVE, POSSESSIVE PSYCHO
Like I legit thought he was nice in he first ep and then I saw him kiss Seojin and-
Me: 🤨😧😃🤮 MY EMOTIONS WENT LIKE THAT
LIKE HE IS SO FUCKING POSSESSIVE OVER SURYEON, AEGYO AND SEOJIN LIKE ITS DISGUSTING
I WAS GETTING YANDERE BEHAVIOUR FROM THAT OLD MAN
PURE TRASH
Bae Rona
Tumblr media
9/10
I LOVE HER NOW
RONA BEST GIRL
She was also annoying at first and was very ungrateful
But over time she got better, still a tiny bit annoying sometimes but better
When she came back from the US I WAS LIKE GIRL NO YOU FINNA RUIN THE PLAN
I do feel bad for her bc she went through alot with bullying, her mom going to jail not only once but twice, her getting to know that Yoonchul who she started liking sabotaged her performance, and also literally almost dying
My girl has been through a lot
AND WHEN SHE RUNNED TOWARDS THE STAIRS OUTSIDE WHEN EUNBYEOL WAS CHASING HER I WAS LIKE GIRL RUN TO THE HALL YOU RUNNIN OUTSIDE
I am excited to see her reaction to getting to know that Yoon Chul is her dad
Part 2 is also posted!

Kiss 11, IzuOcha
Oh god! I haven’t written BNHA in like...months! Tho tbh, its a nice change of pace! Enjoy! :D
------
Under Wraps [IzuOcha]
------
Prompt: Kiss 11: Public Kiss - IzuOha
------
Context: Ochako is at a press conference, talking about her latest deed - rescuing workers that were trapped in a burning enterprise caused by an ex-employee. While answering questions pertaining to the incident, reporters keep noticing that she liked to pick a certain reporter among the bunch.
------
“-but seeing as we haven’t seen this new skill from you in your previous rescue, does that mean you’ve recently developed it?” A man around her age asked her, his pencil touching his notepad as he looked at her with anticipating emerald eyes.
Ochako managed to make her smile grow wider as she repeated the question to herself, all the reporters in the room noticing how her eyes softened. All cameras that were there quickly captured the moments, a few reports jotting this detail in their books.
It wasn’t the first time this occurred with the Zero Gravity Heroine.
It started four years ago, two years after her Hero debut. Ever since the rookie reporter -Deku- came into the scene, Uravity started to answer more questions, made her press conferences longer and convinced her agency to do more Q&A sections in her conferences that didn’t relate to the recent incident.
Everyone knew that Deku was the reason behind Uravity’s change, but they didn’t know how exactly. After all, what can a Quirkless reporter like him do to change one of Japan’s Top 20 Heroes?
Not only was he Quirkless, he had a horrible sense of fashion. Round glasses, a blazer and hat combo. And no, it wasn’t a fedora or a regular solid colored shirt. It was always, always, some type of hero merch.
Today’s outfit included Creati merch under his brown blazer. Yes, that simple red t-shirt was Creati merch, a matryoshka doll peeping from the breast pocket.
“Yes! Yes I did! I’m so glad that you caught it!” Ochako said with glee, placing her fingers together, making sure her pinkies didn’t touch. Despite having one of her pinkies covered by a single bandaid, it was still a habit Ochako did as a precaution. Old habits die hard after all. “I found out I was able to stabilize the amount of gravity pulling on a person a few months ago and only until this recent rescue was I able to show everyone the efforts placed into developing this skill.”
Ochako watched as the reporter wrote furiously into his notepad, not once looking down. She couldn’t help but notice the breton hat on his head, his hair peeking from under it.
If she remembered correctly, that was the hat he got from when he went to interview the Wild Pussycats. An anniversary report relating to the Waterhose Heroes. A very emotional read now that she remembered.
“And do you plan to keep working on your Quirk?”
“I do! After all, it’s how I perfected this skill.” Ochako looked down at her hands, clenching and unclenching them. She looked at the scars that ran across them, each one a story to them. She looked back up. “Who knows what other skills I have yet to uncover! The only way I can discover them is if I keep working on perfecting my Quirk to save everyone in my reach.” Ochako said with a soft smile, watching as the freckled reporter watched her with starry eyes through his round framed glasses from Creati’s new fashion line.
Red definitely complimented him.
“Seeing as we are running out of time,” the conference planner said, hearing complaints from the myriad of reporters in the auditorium. “We’ll allow one final question pertaining-”
“Is it true you have yet to find a partner, Uravity?” One idiot reporter yelled from the back, all the senior ones groaning in annoyance.
Who’s clown was this? Who forgot to teach this idiot that asking that type of question made a conference end earlier than intended? That it got rid of all opportunity on elongating the already short conference? And why did he think about that question now? Uravity’s Q&A was in two days. Two. Days! Why couldn’t he wait until then to ask that question?
As the conference planner tried to wrap things up, Ochako sighed, grabbing the microphone from her manager, mouthing an apology.
“Can the reporter who said that please come to the front?”
Everyone looked around as they wondered what idiot had asked Uravity the question of the status of her love life.
Everyone groaned as they watched Reo walk up to the stage, the man sporting a grin as he walked up.
Reo - Cupid’s Nightmare. Notorious for digging into every hero’s love life, as if his life depended on it. (It didn’t.) He would do anything to try and grab a scoop, especially when it came to single heroines, but everyone also knew that he had a thing for the anti-gravity hero.
He even admitted it during a panel when he was a guest at Tokyo’s Hero Con last year.
“My ideal girl? Probably Uravity.”
Ochako frowned as Reo stood in front of her, fully knowing where this was going. “Can you repeat your question?”
“I asked if there’s anyone you’re seeing, Uravity.” Reo stated, taking out his phone to record their conversation. “After all, you’re the only heroine in your age group that has yet to find a partner. Being 24 years old, everyone would expect you to be a relationship or at least been through one.” Reo let out a smirk. “Any guy would die to have you, seeing as you haven’t changed a bit since your highschool years.” Reo let out a chuckle before stretching out his phone to Ochako. “So tell us, are you seeing anyone?”
Ochako sighed, wanting to badly roll her eyes, but she knew that it wasn’t worth it.
She had heard of Reo through her friends, Momo and the rest of the girls had warned her about him. How they talked about him finding their old apartment addresses, how he would stalk them, how they had to get restraining orders for him and how he would pester them until they would give him an answer to satisfy his question and make them feel uncomfortable and at times unsafe.
She wasn’t going to let him get his way. Not against her.
“First and foremost, I find it very rude and uncomfortable that my body should be the sole reason as to why someone should ever date me.” Ochako started, her lips a thin line. She hated that Reo still had a grin on his face, as if saying he had finally cornered her. Oh how wrong he was. “But setting that aside, my answer to your question is yes,” oh how she loved the way Reo’s grin fell. How his face paled. “I am seeing someone.”
Gasps filled the room, reporters shouting about who the lucky person was as camera shutters attempted to drown them down. No one watched as a breton hat made its way to the side of the stage.
“As a matter a fact, the two of us are getting married.” Ochako said with a smile, internally grinning as Reo dropped his phone, his eyes wide. “In the timespan of five months, may I add.”
The room soon filled with applause and shouts that congratulated her.
“You’re lying!” Reo shouted, Ochako still smiling. She had already done her part, so she let him go on. “You’re lying! I would’ve known if you were dating some!” Reo blabbered on, not registering as cameras rolled, filming his every word. “You’re just saying this to-”
“Why would she lie about something she greatly respects?”
More clicks and shutters filled the room as everyone stared with wide eyes as they saw Deku on stage, his hand on Uravity’s waist, snuggly pressed against him. “Seeing as you’re her biggest fan, you would think that you would know that Uravity holds marriage with the utmost respect. Or am I wrong, Reo?” Deku asked, a smirk on his face.
“Deku. How-”
“How did I get up here?” Deku tilted his head towards the side stage. “The perks of being her fiance I guess.” The room once again ruptured into shouts.
“Stop lying. The two of you.” Reo gritted through his teeth. He looked at Uravity with round eyes. “Please tell us that you were lying, Uravity. That you were simply saying it so that-”
“-so that people like you would get off her back.” Deku cut off, frowning. “Look man, do you know how frustrating it is to hold myself back every time someone kept hitting on her? How hard it was to pretend like I was just another face in the crowd? That I couldn’t punch you for saying countless disturbing things to my girlfriend?”
“Girlfriend?” Reo asked, looking at the smirk on Uravity’s face. “You’ve never-”
“Interacted with her? Um, sorry to disappoint, but I have?” Deku pretended to count his fingers. “Have been for the past five years. We’ve been dating for the past four though.”
“How can that be?”
“Result of being an ace reporter I guess.” Deku provided, telling the truth. He also had his quirklessness to thank.
When was security going to learn to place barriers that kept everyone out and just not those with Quirks? Thanks to the flaw in the system, Deku was able to slip through Quirk detection barriers and since he didn’t have one, he was able to slip every single time.
“Ace reporter my ass. You’re just another Quirkless idiot who can’t do a single thing besides run after heroes, seeing as that the next best thing besides having a Quirk.” Reo crossed his arms, smirking when Deku frowned. “What makes you think that you’re capable of protecting Uravity. Of deserving her love?”
“First off, it’s called connections buddy.” Izuku smiled, snapping his fingers. Soon, security was escorting Reo out the room, Reo shouting insults at Deku. “Second, if she chose me, that’s all I need to know that I am worthy of her love.”
“You’ll regret taking Uravity from me, you Quirkless Deku! You'll pay for this!”
“See you in court!” Deku yelled back. “I also suggest you invest in a lawyer! I’ve never seen so many lawsuits against a tabloid reporter like yourself!”
As Deku watched the room quiet down, Ochako decided to speak up.
“Now that that is over, we would be happy to answer any-”
“KISS!” Someone from the back shouted, the other reports laughing at the request. Ochako couldn’t help but also laugh, only to stop when she felt hands cup her face.
“Izuku?” Ochako stared with wide eyes as she felt his lips pressed against hers, the clicks of cameras going mute as she melted into the gesture, pulling Izuku deeper into their kiss as she closed her eyes.
How long she had waited to do this with him. To announce her happiness to the world.
How she found love with the reporter who viewed her as Ochako and not only Uravity.
The reporter who managed to sweep her off her feet by simply asking her questions about her Quirk and work along with other mundane questions about her day.
The man who talked endlessly about his job and how he enjoyed learning about Quirks despite not having one himself.
The reporter who managed to keep Reo away from her and her friends thanks to his connections and collections of blackmail.
The man named Izuku MIdoriya, who proposed to her after having received her ranking of number 11, just like the hero she had idolized as a child and who heavily inspired her career.
As the two parted from each other, Ochako stared at Izuku, watching as he stared at her with dreamy eyes before a blush formed onto his face.
“I just remembered we are on a live stream.”

****
Colby: Babe
I feel like shit
Like stuffy and my stomach blahhh
You: Aww baby I’m sorry :(
Colby: Do you have to work today?
You stare at his message, knowing he wants you to come over. You did have a morning shift at Target and you’re about to clock in, but it does pain your heart that he’s not feeling well and probably alone right now.
“Are you okay, Y/N?”
You look away from your phone screen and at, Sally, one of your managers. “The boyfriend isn’t feeling well.”
Your phone vibrates, so you look back down to see another message from him.
Colby: Please come overrr
I really want you around.
“And now he’s begging me to come over.” You turn a slightly devilish smile on Sally. “Could I possibly...not work today?”
She shoots you a look.
You sigh a little and punch your four digit code into the monitor. “Yeah, I know.”
You: Sorry, Colby Jack, I just started my shift
I’ll be over right after
Colby: 😭😭
THATS SO LONG THO
You: I’m sorry!!!
But guess what??
Colby: ...Not sure I wanna know but what?
You: I LOVE YOU BUNCHES BABY😘😘
With all of my cold dark heart that you opened and warmed up
Colby: Stop playing cute with MEE!!
You: I don’t play cute?
Colby: Right and I haven’t looked the same for ten years straight.
Fucking walrus over here.
You: Shush
Stay wrapped up in your bed and watch something until I get there
Colby: Am I allowed to go pee or poop?
You: No, Colby..you can’t do any bodily functions
Colby: Get ready to have to clean up some shitty boxers then
You: Not the worse thing I’ve ever had to clean up 🤷😂
“Y/N, no phones out and get over to your area. More shirts and tanks need to be added in the women’s department.” Sally ordered from behind you.
You hold up a finger. “Okay, I swear I’ll head over, just one more quick message.”
You: I gotta go. Stay warm and drink some fluids, okay? I’ll be there before you know it❤
Colby: Fine. I love you too btw❤
You smile, but it quickly fades when you see the wrath Sally is about to unleash and you pocket your phone before heading over to the women’s department.
***
“Brockster?” You call as you enter the mansion, carrying a plastic bag of some sick essentials; the boys never have any of it.
You head straight upstairs and can hear him grunting and whining until you open his bedroom door. Then he flops around from facing the wall and sits up with disheveled hair and a smile.
“You’re here!” His voice was definitely nasally, and he was losing it. But it was kind of adorable and made your heart ache with happiness.
You bite your lip to stop from laughing too hard at how cute he is being and looks right now. You hold up the bag that had sinus congestion relief, pain reliever, orange juice, sprite, chicken noodle soup, and saltine crackers in it and set it down on his desk. “Of course, baby. I brought some essentials.”
You walk over to feel his forehead with the back of your hand. “How are you feeling?”
He moans momentarily, then sniffles. “Better now that you’re here.”
All you do is roll your eyes before turning around to hide the pink in your cheeks. You grab the DayQuil sinus congestion relief from two Day&Night pack you bought and pour some of it into the clear small measuring cap it came with.
“Here, this should help with the sinus. I don’t understand how you guys never have any in this damn house.”
He swigs it down, cringing, and he sticks his tongue out as he squeezes his eyes shut and shakes his head. “AHH!” He hands it back, coughing into his other hand. “Thanks, baby. Hey, ask the other girl who lives here why we don’t.”
You shoot him a raised eyebrow look and he hides his face into his hands, then looks up at you with sorrowful eyes. “Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. Really, all of us guys are just bad at being prepared for this. We believe in the ‘sucking it up’.”
“I know, and it’s stupid.” You reach out to ruffle up his hair some more and he grabs your wrist to pull you down into his lap. He pretends to try and kiss you. “That was until we all got girlfriends. I love you, baby.”
You fight him a little with a small laugh. “That’s sweet and I love you too, but Colby Jack don’t kiss me. I don’t want to get sick.”
He laughs and only tries more. “Does that mean you won’t lay with me?” He was giving the biggest puppy dog eyes ever and jutted out his bottom lip.
“Why you gotta pull out the puppy dog eyes, bro?”
He gasped and set a hand on his bare chest. “Why you gotta pull out the bro, bro? You know, every time you say it, it makes me feel a little less like your boyfriend and little more like just a friend.”
You roll your eyes, which makes him lightly lick his lips and smile, his tongue slightly sticking out between his teeth and he giggles. “I’m joking. It’s hot when you say bro.”
“Shut up.” You start to head out of the room to go to the bathroom.
“Hey, hey, hey!” You look over to see him stretching his arms out towards you, wiggling his fingers.
“Yeah?”
“Where you going?”
“To the bathroom. I gotta pee.”
“Oh.” He flops arms back down on the bed. “Pleeeaaase don’t be gone too long, okay?”
You shake your head. “I won’t be, you newb.”
***
“Hey guys!” Colby shouts, causing his voice to crack, into his phone. “Guess who is the best girlfriend on this planet? Yes, I want you to actually guess, comment on my most recent... Here’s some hints. She’s beautiful, has great music taste...takes care of me when I’m sick..” You look over at him and he smiles bigger. “She calls me bro, brosky, brockster, Colby Jack, aaaand she’s sitting right here!”
“Colby, stop!” You groan into a laugh.
He pulls his phone away with a hoarse laugh, wipes under his nose, and coughs shortly. “I’m posting that on the story.”
You don’t even bat an eye. He posts the most random shit on his Instagram story, and since he’s been open about your relationship, you show up or get a mention at least once every other day.
He sighs heavily and rolls back onto stomach, but so he could rest an arm over your lap. “I could take a nap.”
“You literally just took one.” You reply. “You were out so hard I was able to draw a duck and turtle on your back with a sharpie.”
His eyes shot open. “You did what?”
You shake your head and look back at your phone. “Nothing.”
“I don’t believe you for one second.” He actually gets out of the bed and hurries to the bathroom that has all the mirrors as walls. “Y/N! Why the fuck-?”
You bust out laughing and don’t say anything.
He comes back into the bedroom, his jaw dropped, but he’s amused. “You think you’re so funny. Prank wars are over, babe, but I’m not afraid to start one with you because I distinctly remember me winning.” He crawls onto the bed and places himself back where he was.
You play with his hair now and bite your bottom lip. “I think we know the real reason why you won those.” He looks up at you as you point to yourself and mouth “me”.
He pretends to be offended. “Not true!” He cracks out and clears his throat. “Not true.”
“Hmm...a majority of the pranks I thought up of that you used got all of the boys at once, every time, and got the most views. Like filling all of their individual shampoos with mayonnaise, play-doh gum, using bungee cords to connect all the door handles to their closet doors so they couldn’t get in their rooms, period blood fakeout, edible makeup.. Do I need to say more?”
“Damn,” he smiles like a goof, his eyes being the most blue they have all day, and moves to  kiss your hip, “I forgot how savage you were with helping in that. I kind of miss us pranking them together.”
You smirk lightly. “I’d say we could do another idea I have, but I do not want us to start another prank war.”
Deviousness fills Colby’s features and he sits up. “Let’s do it.”
“Did you hear anything after I said that I had an idea?” You cock a brow, reaching for a saltine cracker to munch on.
“Come on, babe.”
You groan. “I’m warning you, it’s gonna start something.”
Colby smiles wider and hops out of bed. “What is it?”
***
You carefully watch from the window in the backyard as Aaron walks inside, whistling some tune to himself. Perfect, everyone is back now. As far as they know, you’re not here.
“Water balloons ready?” You look back at Colby, still wearing only boxers and a pair of baggy joggers, and notice him shivering a little. Yes, it’s the middle of the summer in LA, but he’s sick; you advise he wear a top of some sort, yet he didn’t listen.
He nods. “Yup.”
You help carry the balloons up to the roof of the shed they had and where you built a makeshift slingshot launcher. Colby helps hike you up there on his shoulders. You test one of the balloons on it to make sure it works and watch as it flings to land in a break in front of the back door.
Colby claps his hands with a laugh. “Oh, this is gonna be awesome, baby!”
“Right. You good to film?”
“Yeah, gonna tell them I’m doing a follow my voice bit and lead them out here.”
You smile. “Good.”
Colby jogs back inside with his camera and you had his GoPro setup on the tower to get your view of the slingshots. You prepare one of the water balloons filled with water and a plaster mix; yes, a store run had to be done for this, but it wouldn’t be as great if it was just water.
Colby peeks out the clear glass door, looking dorky as ever with giving you two thumbs up, and he opens it to lead Aaron out first.
Oh, sweet, sweet Aaron who doesn’t have a single bad bone in his body. Ringing him in on certain pranks in the past made you feel bad, but it was either all or no point. You wait until after you’ve launched the bomb to yell, “Can you hear my voice?”
Aaron lifts the blindfold just in time for the mess to unleash on his right shoulder. He looks shocked at first, but then laughs. “When and how did you get up there, Y/N?”
“Magic?” You offer with a shrug, then load another and let it rip. It lands and breaks open near his feet.
He jumps and yells in one of his goofy voices, “Hey, th-that’s not..not nice! I-I don’t..want..want to play wi-with anyasdlkfad-anymore.” Then he “storms” back inside.
You and Colby laugh and prepare for the next victim.

Despite being outside and getting wet, Colby’s temp was gone and he says his stomach felt better. The cold is still there though.
Colby’s hand with newly painted black fingernails done via you rubs your hip. With his face mostly snuggled in his pillow, he muffles, “Can you stay the night here?”
You sigh heavily, feeling a wave of exhaustion hitting you, and rub your hand over his elbow and forearm. “I could.” You toss the bottle of nail polish on the floor; you’ll pick it up tomorrow. You snuggle down under the covers, closer to him, and poke his cheek. “Hey?”
He pops open one eye and lifts his face a little. “What?”
You lean over to press your lips on his for a moment. “I’m glad you’re feeling better. I love you, Colby Jack.”
He blushes with a giggle into the pillow. “I don’t deserve you, Y/N... I love you too, baby.”

Just Friends - Chapter 54
Aaliyah.
The nagging ache in my back alerted me to the hunched over seating position that I had likely been in for hours. I took a deep breath, pausing to roll my neck in a circle and shrug my shoulders up and down. The dull pops that emitted between my bones satisfied me. I stretched in my chair, feeling a yawn overtake my body. With a deep exhale I rose to my feet, stretching more and more. Both the cotton shirt and pants I wore were billowy and comfortable. I hadn’t purposely worn it knowing I would be at work all night but the outfit decision definitely worked in my favor. More yawns and stretches took me around the little free space in my office nearest the windows and couch. I glanced out, knowing I could be seen by people on the street if they felt so inclined to look upward. This city truly never slept. Granted it was only a little after 9 pm, most people were just starting their evenings. While this was an area with lots of businesses in the vicinity, there were also restaurants and shops and other reasons for people to be out and about. I watched as they walked along the sidewalks and cars moved easily through the streets. I wasn’t the only one having a late night either, I mused as I continued to stare out of my window. Other scattered offices had lights on as well from what I could see. It was about to be the start of the third quarter soon, so I was sure that they were just like me, tying up the loose ends and reviewing the early half of the year. I sighed, looking back at my desk knowing that I was almost in the clear. Papers upon papers filled folders and binders and my mind churned as I covered all the bases, leaving me mentally exhausted. Just a little but more work and I would be good to go for the evening. Then, in a few days, I would take a trip to the spa. That was just what the body needed. Running around like crazy and being stuck at a desk for hours in between was no good for my muscles and I needed someone to work it out for me… A trained specialist of course. The offer I’d received to “get me back right” did sound especially promising though. Just as soon as I’d parked myself comfortably in my chair, a spreadsheet in my hand full of flight records, my phone rang unexpectedly. “Aaliyah speaking.” I answered mindlessly, still skimming various numbers. This sheet had to be right before I submitted it for expense review. “Aaliyah speaking.” The airy yet dark voice repeated my name, accenting differently than anyone would with English as a first language. The background behind the voice sounded busy, but my focus was captivated by the person on the other side of this call. “Why you calling my job?” I said with a smirk, allowing my hand to drop and the spreadsheet to sit in its original spot. “Why you still at work.” Larry paused, the noises behind him getting slightly louder before quieting down again. “And why you answer the phone sexy?” His tone was so distinct to me, and would always illicit a response that I couldn’t control. I shook my head, hiding my smile even though no one could see me. He was speaking in that tone purposefully. Larry’s voice floated over his words when he was calm, even more so when he was trying to be cute. I could almost hear the way he clamped the end of his sentence off with his teeth over his lips. It annoyed me and made me happy at the same time. “I’m still at work because I had some shit to tie up here at the office.” I wouldn’t acknowledge his second question. “Why you calling me at my job?” “Answer skype.” The line clicked and left me with a dial tone. Just as quickly, my MacBook began to ring, and I removed my headphones from my desk and plugged them in, clicking “Answer” while an old picture of Larry popped up on my screen. I could have spoken out in the open but I couldn’t be sure no one else was in the office to hear him.. and I couldn’t trust that he would be appropriate. “I call you at work because you not answer you phone.” Larry said, seemingly walking through a busy area. The placement of his microphone must have been perfect because while normally I would have struggled to hear him over a crowd, every word was pitched just as if he was speaking quietly and directly into my ear. Why he insisted on maintaining this volume of speech was beyond me. Memories of late night conversations alone in silence flooded my mind and I got pushed aside just as quickly as they surfaced. “Sorry, I left it today.” “You leave you phone?” “Yeah. I wasn’t thinking. Moving too fast earlier.” I didn’t tell him where it was and I wouldn’t. Hearing his tone change to disappointment whenever Jamal was even casually brought up wasn’t worth it. Knowing my phone had been with him all afternoon after I left it in his car over my lunch hour was probably not a story Larry needed nor wanted to hear. “I send you a picture of Lau and me food. We get paella at this place, is crazy good.” “Damn… that sounds amazing.” my mouth salivated at the thought of authentic paella. “I wish you try some.” Larry and I had made good on our promise to one another to maintain contact. We had gotten lost in the shuffle before and the months we spent apart coupled with the tension between us was a lot to come back from but somehow we’d both jumped back into a place where we could speak every couple days and it was always nice. I had spent so much time trying not to think about Larry that when he came back, my brain initially relished in the work it was no longer forced to maintain. Forcing myself to not think about him was harder than actually having him around. Much harder. Thoughts still remained and were necessary, however. Instead of trying to pretend he didn’t exist while still having to watch his career and plan events for him and his twin, I focused on what was next. There was still a pressing conversation to be had and I knew that we wouldn’t be able to continue on seriously with one another in any facet if we didn’t put it on the table. We both knew this. I couldn’t help but consider whether or not he had these thoughts like I did. They kept me up a couple nights after he left my apartment last time he was in town. I barely slept, running through event after event, replaying what went wrong, placing blame on him, then myself… on and on and on. A lot of it went back to me… running. I wasn’t blame free. Larry could be a fuckboy at his worst. He avoided commitment, was self serving, selfish, and needy. But I was no saint. My issues with confrontation and commitment were a big part of the deal. I hoped he saw things in himself like I did. We would see. “You look nice at work.” I smiled bashfully at his compliment. “Is cold there?” “You know New York spring weather.” I shrugged, my shoulders wrapped in the thick grey sweater I kept at my desk. “Its hot as hell one day and chilly the next. It was hella nice out earlier but chilled down after lunch. The warmth is coming though. Next week it should really take a turn.” “mm.” Larry nodded, smiling lightly. HIs eyes switched from me to looking at his surroundings. I could see the shoulders of the white and black letterman jacket that he wore. “It nice during the day but Spain get cooooollllld at night.” “Wait…” I looked at the clock. 9:45. “Larry its like… early in the morning there.” “You know the club not close here until like 6 am.” “Then why are you not at the club?” I asked offhandedly, as I skimmed through a late night email from a team I was loosely advising. “I am.” he paused. “I just wanna talk to you while I there.” It was then that I looked back at the screen he was on and noticed the sky turning behind him. There was a very very faint boom of music and he leaned against a brick wall. A smile played on my lips and he bit his in response. “You wanna talk to me? Instead of being at the club? That’s cute.” My tone was playful. It was really adorable but I couldn’t help teasing him. “Yeah.” he breathed out with a tiny laugh. “The music suck. You more fun. We maybe switch clubs tho, I tell Lau I’m ready to go.” My first line flashed and I muted Larry, giving him the signal that I needed to take the incoming call. “Hey I’m almost there. Sorry.” Jamal’s rushed voice came on the line when I picked up. “No, no its fine. I’m still tying up a few things so I might even keep you waiting a little bit.” “Aight. I’ll be there in like ten.” “You should be good to come on up if you want, just call me when you get here.” I had already informed security that I would be having a guest up to get me later on. It was nearing ten and the words were beginning to blur together in front of me. When I replaced the earbuds on my ear, Larry was talking in rapid French to someone. I couldn’t hear the other voice until Lau exclaimed “HI PEANUT!”. “You don’t want to let Lau talk to me?” “Nah.” Larry’s reply was flat and annoyed. This tickled me immensely. “He talk too much and you busy at work.” “You didn’t care that I was busy at work.” “I different.” “You are?” “I am.” His voice darkened. He raised his eyebrow playfully and gave me his full face on the screen. “You want me to tell you how?” The tilt of his head told me his intentions and my body warmed instantly. I rolled my eyes. “I think not.” Larry’s laughter boomed as I rolled my eyes dramatically. “We walking to new spot now.” “Have fun.” I replied with a smile. “I gonna text you later. How you get home?” “I have a ride, don’t worry.” “You better don’t take the train.” He chided. I rolled my eyes again, to which this time he kissed his teeth. “Not roll you eyes at me. I call an uber for you.” “Larry don’t. I’m good. I promise I’m not taking the train.” “You text me when you get home then.” “Promise.” “BYE LIYAH!” Laurent’s face filled the screen before Larry could move the camera away. “We miss you! Larry think he maybe miss you more than me but you my friend more I think so I miss you more.” Larry moved away from him quickly, shaking his head and swearing in French. “I talk to you later.” I waved to the camera, which made us both smile before the call ended. With that I leaned back in my chair, taking a deep breath and exhaling while trying to ignore the butterflies that churned in my stomach every time we ended a call. Things were good. Too good to be true. I knew this could all disappear if we played our cards wrong. Deep down, I didn’t want to risk it. There was a lot on the table and I wasn’t sure I was ready to face it.
A knock on my door took me from my thoughts. In a dress shirt with the top buttons undone, Preston leaned against my doorframe. “You sure you don’t need a ride home?” “No thanks Pres,” I smiled. “I have a ride. He’s on the way now. But thank you for checking in.” “No problem.” He sauntered in and sat on the arm of the couch in my office. “So… Might this ride be a certain… someone special?”
My eyebrow raised wondering who he was insinuating. “We play coy now?” A smile played on his lips. “A certain… tall… caramel brown gentleman with a twin brother. He dresses fairly well, if you’re into that look.”
I began sorting papers on my desk, ignoring his attempts to bait me. I knew they were only in good fun, Preston and I had developed quite the relationship. He wasn’t like a brother, but like a slightly older cousin. In fact, he reminded me of one of the junior guys that I had befriended as a freshman. There were a group of Alpha’s that had taken a couple of us girls under their wing, less like the creepy upperclassmen and more like wise big brothers. Preston may not have had the same fraternity affiliation but the vibe was familiar and likely one of the reasons why I gravitated toward him. He and I played well off of each other in and out of office settings.
Preston continued, not satisfied with my lack of a response. “He was clearly was jealous of me… which,” He paused, before standing near my mirror and inspecting himself. “is understandable.” I broke, laughing loudly at his cocky comparison. Preston was a joke. This gave him the opportunity to catch my eye. I was forced to respond in somewhere after a brief stare down.
“I don’t know who you could be speaking of.” I bit my lip and squinted my eyes in mock concentration.
“You don’t?” Preston said, shrugging me off before eyeing the photographs that sat in frames on my desk. “Well… aren’t these nic-oh! Well who is this?”
He turned the photo of the twins, Leslie and I toward me and tsk-ed at me while I held my face as stoic as I could. “Speak of the devil.”
“Oh those twins.” I replied to his accusations flippantly. “They’re in Spain.”
“He is?”
“Yes,” I put down the black plastic binder in my hand. “Yes they are.” “Mmm… well regardless I’m sure one of these two would love to be picking you up after a late night at work.” He lifted the photo closer to his eyes as I watched on. “Correct me if I’m wrong… but the grimace in my direction belonged tooo…. this one?”
Preston’s finger dialed right in on Larry, his twists up in a ponytail in the photo similarly to how they were the night at the party. On the contrary, Lau’s fro was much much smaller back then.
Preston watched me with a tiny smile as I did my best to conceal my own. I noted that he still wouldn’t let up, despite my attempts at pretending it wasn’t a thing. “Was it that obvious?” My face scrunched awkwardly. Preston simply laughed and nodded. “You’re much better at containing yourself, I will say that.” He gently put the picture back in its spot. “I would have had no clue had I not been watching his behavior.”
“You watched him?”
“Only because I very clearly made him squirm in front of his…” my chest pained slightly. “his… whatever she was. It was very clear he was there for you way more than for work, and I don’t know what she was there for but that’s none of my business.” “He and I just have… had… ” I sighed and rolled my eyes, failing to find appropriate words. “We connected, he and I did, and we’re very close. I’m close with both of them.”
I tried to explain it away in the most professional and concise way possible. As close as Preston and I were, this was a nightmare for me. I wasn’t good with my personal life being public consumption at work. Larry’s antics were bound to be noticed by someone who would have more than a little jokey commentary or a good nature to their words. “But you know that I take work seriously. I don’t fuck around. Professionalism is key for me, I’m not into those lines being crossed or scenes being made that involve me.” It annoyed me that Larry couldn’t keep anything under control. That had always been a problem I had with him and the way that he handled things. He never seemed to be able to keep his shit under wraps. Majority of his problems stemmed from other people not knowing boundaries and either they reacted publicly or he did. He was wild, and while I’d learned how to tame myself for professional settings, I hadn’t found that balance with them yet, with him specifically.
Lau could be very outspoken in interviews, extremely verbose and oversharing but he always knew where the line was. Larry either gave nothing, or everything.
I made a note that it was something we’d have to work with for their career. Less needed to be more.
“You’re right but… you shouldn’t be worried too much. I just know a connection when I see it.” he shrugged lightly. I sat back in my chair, taking in his words, still annoyed that we’d been busted. “I mean for real, I haven’t seen a client that blatantly jealous at a normal work interaction since… well… since Alvin.” “Wait… Alvin was a client?” I was genuinely shocked. “I never told you that?” I shook my head no. Preston smiled fondly as he recalled the past. “Yeah, yeah he was… I know I’ve told you about us before but we met when he was actually my client.”
“I thought y'all were just working on a project together.”
“Nope.” he shook his head, still slightly smiling. “He was new at his firm, I was freelancing and represented them. We’d worked together very early on during his time there and one thing lead to another…”
A pregnant pause in his words told me everything he had left unsaid. “I drove myself crazy trying to figure out if he and I were doing the right thing. You know I’m big on professionalism too, and having to answer to myself was almost harder than having to answer to a boss of some sort. I raked myself through the coals over it. The point is, there’s always a way to make it work if its worthwhile and if it’s right.” I sighed. There was so much I wanted to say but couldn’t… wouldn’t. I don’t know. Maybe I wasn’t ready. Maybe it wasn’t right… Or maybe it was and deep down I was afraid. “I’m not trying to put any pressure on you.” Preston rose to his feet. “Trust me. I get it. So I’m not judging it. Just play your cards right and have fun.”
The wink that tailed his statement almost made me laugh. He had no clue. The ease with which Preston discussed this was something I couldn’t yet do myself. Luckily he had gotten past it all and it worked in his favor. I was in the midst of the story. There was still much to work through.
I appreciated him pulling back in that moment because he really had no idea how much internal drama this was causing for me. “I just… it’s not that big of a deal. Really.” This wasn’t a lie. I just didn’t want to talk about it. Honestly, at current, there was nothing worth mentioning. I just needed to move past this until I could sort out the details. And move on we did. We briefly chatted about work, the upcoming anniversary party for Linda and her husband, and the light conversation continued casually until Jamal was lead into the office by security. Preston’s eyebrows raised suggestively at Jamal as he left out, and my eye roll and laugh dismissed anything he was even about to joke about. With a quick introduction, he was gone, leaving Jamal and I alone in the room while I closed out of the documents I was working in. “Take your time.” Jamal said, getting comfortable on the couch, kicking his feet up for emphasis. “Nah, I’m spent.” I said, organizing the remaining papers on my desk based on completion. “Just give me a minute.” “Oh, shit,” Jamal lifted up and reached into his pocket, fishing out my phone and sliding it onto my desk. “You been blowing up today, I was your lil secretary.” He laughed and I rolled my eyes at him, before lifting the phone to check the damage. No notifications were on the screen and I made a face at his exaggerations. He laughed before continuing to make himself comfortable. “Nah it wasn’t bad at all. I answered when Leslie called and talked to her for a little bit. She was bored. Almost answered when your mom called too but I decided to chill.” “My mom would have given you and I an earful. You saved us both.” He laughed lightly while his fingers moved across his own device at a rapid speed. I opened up the messages, the number on the icon informing me of plenty of missed messages. “Ya boy blew you up today though.” he said casually with a little laugh. “You might wanna hit him back and calm his nerves.”
Just as he said that, Larry’s name showed up at the top of my messages app, with a little blue dot indicating I’d missed something he’d said. The only thing I could see was a smiley face with the eyes closed and its little pink tongue out.
I didn’t open it, it made me feel awkward.
Jamal on the other hand was a picture of comfort. His face remained buried into his phone and a small smile played on his face as his fingers scrolled and typed. I couldn’t see what he was doing, and I didn’t particularly care to know but everything was so calm at the moment that I wasn’t sure what to make of it.
I just didn’t know if the lack of tension meant something and if anything, for myself, I needed to clear the air.
“Can I ask you something?” I said as casually as I could, slipping my phone into the pocket of my purse it usually remained in before sitting back in my desk chair, still warm from before.
“Shoot.” He said with a yawn.
“Is everything good… ” Though he barely acknowledged me speaking, and his fingers continued tapping the screen, I continued on. “With us.”
“What you mean?” With his lip between his teeth he finished up whatever he was doing and gave me his full attention. The look of his full beard was making its mark on his face, and with thick eyebrows to match, he looked much more sturdy than normal. I couldn’t even imagine him bare faced as he’d previously been. The long curls he sported during the peak of winter were lush, and with his skin much paler than normal, his plush pink lips and the dark coils on his head and face stood out. The look was cute and appropriate for winter time but with the weather slowly warming, Jamal had begun cutting his hair down to a fade, but the beard remained.
Honestly, he could probably dye his hair various shades of pastels like an easter egg and it would still suit him.
Jamal was fine. It was undeniable. Even though we had been much closer to the friends spectrum than to benefits, I couldn’t pretend that he was attractive as fuck. Part of me would likely always have those lusty feelings but I appreciated him not complicating things by pushing that.
“I mean… ” I considered skating over the topic. That would be useless. “I know that you know that Larry is back… around. The two of you didn’t get along so well before.”
I had to choose my words wisely. No things weren’t solid with he and I, but with Jamal being present when Larry had slept over and seeing the text messages come in, he had to have noticed that this wasn’t just a passing thing.
Or it was. I couldn’t be sure.
I just needed to make sure things were all okay.
“Yeah.” Jamal said, laying his head back and glancing at me with hooded eyes. He licked his lips and boldly kept his eyes on me waiting for me to continue as if my point was irrelevant.
“… well I just want to make sure you and I are good. Because in my book, nothing has changed between us.”
I leaned back trying to appear comfortable and willing my body to accept that sentiment. I crossed my legs, forcing myself to stop my nervous habits I’d worked to end.
“Oh we good. Yeah.” Jamal said with a shrug. “We real good.”
There was a tone to his voice that made me feel… something. I couldn’t pinpoint it.
“I get it, you know. You gotta do what you gotta do.” He kicked his feet from the couch to the floor and sat up, facing me directly. “You know… when you and I fell out, I knew we would eventually get to a place where we could talk again and be cool.”
“Did you?”
“Yeah. I did.” He shrugged, his confidence told no lies. “Not because I was gonna like, r&b, smooth talk you back or no shit like that but because I just… knew.”
I leaned back in my seat just as he rose up a little bit from where he was. With one hand he grabbed my chair and slid me closer to him, so that I now sat arms length away from where he was.
With the height difference, we were close to eye level.
My pulse quickened slightly. I swallowed back, damned this chair and its ability to be moved with ease.
“I know that there was something special there with me and with you, and that even if we were done with the romance we weren’t done with each other.” His voice was soft, yet strong. There was intention behind the things he said and yet, an ease that he said them with. I hadn’t given him any reason to prepare a speech, so I knew these things were off the cuff. “We had too many people in common and we had shared too much together. We’ve known each other for a long ass time to let some silly ego shit get between us. We’re connected. I know you rock with me, and I fuck with you, on some real shit.”
I nodded. Satisfied with his answer.
“I care about you, Jammy.” He kissed his teeth at the nickname. “That’s why I asked you how you felt. I mean… I was going to do what I wanted-”
“Don’t I know it.” He quickly interrupted.
“Shut up nigga.” I rolled my eyes, making him laugh out. “I was going to do what I wanted BUT I did want to make sure we were good. I don’t want us to not have an open line of communication.”
“I mean, I gathered something was up with y'all when he was at your house looking like he wanted to fight me, shit.” We both snickered. “But I appreciate you respecting us enough to say something.”
I sighed and nodded, only to see him looking at me and leaning back. My foot touched the denim on his jeans and I rocked in my chair a little bit, only pausing because I felt silly being stared at.
“What?”
“Since the communication lines are open or whatever, Ima just say this.” His long arm reached out and grabbed my leg closest to him.
“When we linked back up I didn’t know what to expect but I played it by ear and now here we are. I’m good, and you’re good. I get that.” He paused, his thumb caressing the fabric covering my lower body. “And I know you and ole boy got a lot to talk about I’m sure… some of that might be getting yall back into some romance shit.”
“I don’t know wha-” I started to explain to him that it wasn’t all that before he stopped me.
“It’s cool. I’m good. You need to do you and I’ve been doing me. We’re good.” I nodded in agreement.
“But on some real shit… ” his voice was still the same, but as if someone had dimmed the lights in his tone. “If that nigga fucks up, all bets are off.”
“What do you mean?”
“Ima let him have his chance.” The calmness he spoke with gave me that feeling again. I couldn’t place it but I knew it wasn’t just simple. “But if that nigga loses you, I’m coming after you.”
We both paused. His hand left my leg and placed itself behind his head. He said it so matter of factly that I had nothing to say in reply.
“I’m at you until you’re mine, and I don’t ever plan on losing you again.”
HE SAID WHAT!?“ Leslie screamed making me throw my head back and sigh. I swear when she wanted to be she could be so dramatic. Normally, she was fairly contained. She could be rough around the edges, but there was also an elegant air about her that I always admired. But when she had an outburst, it was as intense as it was ridiculous.
To be fair, this was kind of worth the antics and had the roles been reversed, I would have reacted similarly. Jamal had really gone there and his actions following the statement let me know he was serious.
As casually as he had said that, he moved on with the evening and acted completely normal for the rest of it. I found myself stuck on stupid, while he simply rested his head backward and continued casual conversation about his brother coming to visit for a couple days and some shit that had gone down at the club.
I couldn’t muster up much more than a few nods and minor commentary. His response to me? "I don’t know why you’re surprised. You know we have something that’s worth exploring again. Stop overthinking it.”
He said this with a shrug as we rode to my apartment with the food we’d picked up on the way.
This wasn’t a joke to him. There was no need for him to change the way he had been acting because this was a normal thing to him. He didn’t care that he had dropped a bomb on me.
Well, it wasn’t necessarily a bomb. If I was honest, I knew we were both attracted to one another, had chemistry, and had delved into this before. I just wasn’t expecting him to be so forward with his intentions.
I knew Jamal was seeing other girls, I’d seen them out and about or in pictures and it never really bothered me. We didn’t discuss them too much, and I’d always taken precedence over them, but I assumed that was just because he was a good friend and none of these girls had made their mark enough to push us aside.
There was a small piece of me that had also assumed that he had lost his feelings for me and moved on. This flirty friendship we had was normal, even before we’d tried to take things to the next level, so nothing was out of the ordinary. But neither of us had pushed anything back to where we were before our falling out, save for one night we drunkenly kissed at a party. The next morning, we both woke up at my house and acted as if nothing had happened and for that I was thankful. This gave gas to my now incorrect theory that his feelings were no longer there.
Had I thought about the past with us? Of course. It was impossible not to. I couldn’t deny that I was attracted to him either. Jamal would always be himself and I would likely always find myself attracted to that. But I had no plans on pushing things back to where we were.
Except now, I didn’t know what to think. As the night went on, and I had time to process my thoughts on the matter, I realized this wasn’t as shocking as I initially thought.
But there was also the idea of working things out with Larry, and the What If’s on either end of both of these situations.
The only way I was able to sleep that night was because I’d smoked a joint and had a glass of wine to calm my nerves. That and a lavender candle gave me the reprieve from my thoughts that I needed.
“Damn Ali, teach me somethin’.” Leslie said, still laughing to herself, a smile playing on her lips as she shook her head. “What’s the first rule in hoe-maintenance?.”
“Oh please, I know you aren’t talkin.” I noted. Leslie had never been a one man kind of girl. She played the field and played it well. She was extremely loveable and captivating and always had been. I was pretty charming myself but she took the cake. To top it all off her nonchalance made the men want more. She was that girl. I always wished I could have half of the finesse she did. “They never want to act right until I leave their asses alone, shit. You don’t need my methods.”
“I mean, I’ve had some times.” She turned her head with a dramatic sigh, as if to be recalling the past. “But I mean, playboy Mal just, ever so casually claimed you. Claimed you. as HIS.”
“Oh so what, you’re team Jamal now?”
“You know I’m never team these hoes.” We both laughed at this statement because as ridiculous as it sounded, she was telling the truth. “But damn he really put his foot out there… and then acted as if it was nothing!”
“Les… literally nothing changed.” on his end… It took me a minute to recover. After he said that I was silent. He laughed at my speechlessness, knowing it was fairly unlike me to have absolutely nothing to say. Then he got up, grabbed my work bag, and I trailed him out of the building and into his car. We grabbed food, he dropped me off at home, then he went to work.
He texted me when he got home, as normal.
We made plans for brunch next week, per usual.
He came by when he was in the neighborhood.
Everything went right back to normal. I just… kept on, focusing on work and myself. Sorting out my feelings was part of the normalcy, I just now had added consideration for Jamal that I hadn’t really worried about initially.
Then there was the question of Larry. Did he even want a chance? My feelings were still there, as much as I tried to hide them or run from them, but again, there was so much baggage with us, so many words left unsaid and poor decisions made that I didn’t even know what was worth dealing with or not.
As usual, Jamal was easy. I didn’t have to give him answers. We’d dealt with our shit. We’d moved on.
Larry was the ever difficult one.
“I just… I don’t know what to think. I don’t know what he’s thinking, I barely know what I’m thinking… It’s too much.”
Do you want to be with him?”
“Who?”
“Jamal.”
“I don’t know.” I said calmly with a shrug. “I mean he’s great, he’s attractive, cool. There’s potential there.”
“What about Larry?” Leslie asked. My heart raced.
“Huh?” I said for lack of words.
“What about Larry?” She repeated, with no tone or inflection. It was such a simple question and yet all I could focus on was the small flow of feelings that bubbled in my belly at the mention of him.
“I don’t know.” I said again, just as before, but this time my fingers tingled with a want to fidget and I bit my lip with words unsaid. “I guess I have some things to figure out.”
“You do.” Leslie said. “It’ll be hard. But… the balls are all in your court, so that’s a plus.”
The doorbell rang in the background and I rose to my feet.
“I got it.” Leslie replied quickly, still in her wheelchair. “It’s probably the food.”
“Girl, move.”
“Nah, I’m close to the door. Let me.” Leslie said determined. “Why don’t you grab the plates and stuff and bring them to the living room so we can watch drag race.”
“Alright.” I replied, letting her go ahead while I toyed with my phone and slowly walked toward the kitchen. A couple notifications from social media popped up, along with a funny tweet sent to my texts from Jamal. What took all of my attention away was a picture from my sister of my niece, cradling an avocado in her tiny hands. The sparkly pink manicure made me coo. I paused, grabbing the plates and cutlery, as well as two bottles of water.
“You want something other than water?” I called out to Leslie as I walked in the living room, my free hand responding to a my sister requesting a video and promising her that I would be calling them in a couple days.
“Water good with me.” My eyes rose quickly as Laurent voice unexpectedly filled my ears. He stood in front of me in a pair of grey sweats as he unpacked the various bags and the scent of hot thai food filled my nostrils.
Quickly I placed the stuff down on the table and reached in to give him the biggest hug.
“Lauuuuuuu what are you doing here?!” He laughed in response, gripping me hard and lifting me slightly off the ground. “Put me down before you hurt yourself!”
I smacked at his back which made him wince and laugh simultaneously. Leslie giggled too, which prompted me to turn to her. “You hit too hard!”
“Why didn’t you tell me he was here?!” I ignored Lau’s complaints as I eyed Leslie, who had wheeled herself near us.
“It was a surprise.” Larry answered for her. I spun quickly, not having the chance to react to not noticing his presence initially. “I make her don’t tell you that I’m coming.”
My cheeks warmed at the way he looked at me. Leaned against the doorway, dressed simply in a white v neck and black jeans, with Jordan Breds on, his outfit was so normal and yet looked so so good.
“I don’t get a hug?” Larry mused. “You hug Lau.”
“Yeah because she love me.” Lau said over the crinkle of the paper bag within the plastic ones that held dinner, including my long awaited pad thai.
“You don’t love me too?” Larry’s eyes bore into mine in a way that made things a bit too tense.
I walked over with a grin and wrapped my arms around Larry’s torso, inhaling the soft, cool scent of his fragrance and the essence of his energy. I wondered if he could feel my heart racing.
I could feel his.
His fingers dug into my shoulders and a gentle kiss was laid atop my head.
“I love you both the same, you know that!” I pinched his cheeks when we let each other go, to which he kissed his teeth.
Laurent laughed. “Is okay Liyah, I know you love me more then him.”
“You lie so bad.” Larry whispered over my shoulder.
“Where’s my ginger soup?” I asked outloud, searching the bags which were significantly more food than we would have ordered between the two of us.
“You not having that tonight.” Larry answered before anyone else could. Leslie had a smirk on her face as she glanced at me while her and Lau worked to make her comfortable to eat and chill.
“What you mean, that’s my favorite, we always order-”
“They eating thai together, Lau and Leslie.” Larry said calmly. I was confused and slightly annoyed because I had been looking forward to that simple ass soup and some pad thai all damn day. “You not eating that. You coming with me.”
“Huh?”
“We going to dinner together.” He said simply. My mind began to run instantly. I wanted to look for a way out, but I also wanted to spend some time with him alone. It would be nice but … damnit I just wasn’t ready to sit and talk.
“Is that how you ask my girl out on a date, nigga?” Leslie’s voice picked up, making me laugh through my nerves. “Like you blow me up trying to coordinate coming here secretly and you don’t have the sense to ask her on a date properly?”
Lau’s laughter carried over his stuffed mouth, he had already dug into his curry and rice blend. Greedy ass.
I was jealous.
“Leslie come on man.” Larry whined at her blowing his cool.
“Nah nigga.” It was nice to see them banter back and forth instead of her shooting daggers with angry side-eyes or them both saddened due to her injury. Things felt normal.
This dinner could potentially fuck all of that up.
I sighed. Things were so good right now. So easy, for once. I knew it could be ruined with anything. I wasn’t ready.
I didn’t know when I’d be ready, but I know I just wasn’t ready yet.
Ugh, this was exactly the problem in the first place. We both ran and ran from the bullshit between us.
“Aaliyah.” Larry’s voice took me out before I could delve too deep into my destructive thoughts. “Will you go to dinner with me? I have somewhere I wanna take you.”
“Sure.” I said softly, before I could convince myself otherwise. Maybe the heavens would bless me and we could just chill tonight. One couid only hope.
“Awwwwwww!” Laurent yelled. Larry and I both cut eyes at him and told him to shut up simultaneously. Mine was a bit gentler, while Larry’s was followed with a quick French that made Lau laugh loudly at his teasing. Leslie used her free arm to put her hand over Lau’s mouth to silence a reply, and he licked her, making her reel back. They began to fuss at each other gently, Lau still conscious of her various injuries.
“Cool,” Larry spoke up. “You ready so we can go?”
“Right now?”
“Yeah.” He nodded.
I looked down at my simple outfit. “I want to change.”
“Nah.” Larry muttered, eyeing me up and down in the simple black jumpsuit I currently wore. The pants billowed out below the ankles and the top was fitted. It could be dressed up, but I tossed it on casually to go into work this morning and never went back home to take it off. The little sandals I wore here were cute, and I’d worn them simply because I had just gotten a pedicure and with the weather finally warming this weekend I felt it appropriate to show the white toes off. I couldn’t wait for summer. We were barely into spring and yet the tiniest peek of warm weather had me excited.
“You look good. You don’t need to.”
“Where are we going? I should put on some makeup or something…” I’d gone mostly makeup free, a little mascara and a nude lipgloss was all that I wanted to do today and I hadn’t deviated from that.
“Aaliyah. You good. You look perfect.” My cheeks warmed, providing a blush that I lacked. “Come on. We gonna be late.”
Larry.
The car ride was pretty peaceful as we made our way into Manhattan. Traffic was its usual annoying way, but where normally I would have considered Uber-ing or even taking the train, I opted to take this time to catch up, be alone.
Just be.
We talked about the lightest things, how work had been. Leslie’s health updates. Her parents and their prep for a summer anniversary trip to Spain. I told her about Mama’s new living room set Lau and I had bought for her, and how I planned on hiring her a driver. We mused about our parents meeting somewhere in Europe.
There would be moments of silence, where Sango’s album filled the speakers and that was fine, but if I could tell she was getting nervous, I stepped in to ease her with more topics that were comfortable.
That was the point of tonight.
I just wanted things to be normal. Eventually, I explained just that to her.
“What’s normal for you?” She asked. There wasn’t a drop of sarcasm or a splash of slickness. She genuinely wanted to know. Her body angled toward me in the plush black leather seat, her skin the only thing really standing out.
“Normal is us just be together. We talk like old times. We have fun. We laugh.” I shrugged, turning her way briefly. The GPS led me for the most part, which made this a little easier of a trip. “Is so weird, we not be like that in forever, I forget what is like for just be around you.”
She smiled, only giving me her profile now. I could only glance in her direction anyway. My focus needed to be on the road. Had we not been cutting it close on timing, I would have pulled over just to really analyze her movements and body language.
“You think maybe we can be normal?” I asked, just as the song changed, leaving a silence in the air that lingered until the next track began.
“I don’t know.” Aaliyah said quietly. I exhaled the breath I hadn’t known I was holding. “But I can try.”
“You shouldn’t have to.”
“Have to try?” She asked. I nodded. “I know… but it feels like I do.”
There was a question on the tip of my tongue. Why? one simple word that I wouldn’t utter. It could change the course of the evening and I didn’t want that.
“Don’t try. You no have to try.”
She took a deep breath, her mouth opening with words unsaid before she settled on silence. I peeked over at her, as she faced forward completely. I wondered if I’d said too much, gone too far.
Maybe we’d gone too far for normalcy to be a thing.
Out of my peripheral, I saw her shift in her seat again, only slightly. I glanced, catching her eyes on me with a slight smile. “I wont.”
From then on things felt different. Really different… but in the best way.
We both realized that we had been thinking about things way too hard tongiht. If the agenda was to be normal and feel like the old times, we would have to go about this as simply as possible. Yes there was a massive hurdle to cross in order to coninue on with anything between us other than a professional relationship, but tonight wasn’t for that.
Tonight was for the past. For fun, for drinking and eating and talking.
Tonight was easy.
The calm before a potential storm of feelings. I needed tonight so that I could figure out if this was even worth it. We both did.
When we pulled up to the restaurant, valet met us near the entrance. I gladly paid the cost, having zero intention on waiting out the search for a parking spot. Aaliyah glanced around, her glossy lips shining as they caught bits of the fairly dim lighting.
“This place is nice.” She noted. “I maybe could have changed.”
“I told you you look good.” I reminded her. “I don’t lie.”
We were seated quickly, the benefits of my reservation I assumed. The small table was a great size for two, and there we sat, gazing through the special chef’s menu for the evening. This restaurant was a hot spot in the city, what with its ever changing menu and guest chefs being brought in once every month to curate a new agenda. It was a launching pad for some, and a way to promote for others. Even though it was fairly new, I could already tell it would make a nice drop in the market of other restaurants.
This chef’s menu was all French cuisine, with aspects of African and Caribbean culture in certain dishes, giving them a creole flare. There was a bouillabaisse with crab meat, a coq au vin made with rum for a different flavor profile, and and even accras, fritters from Guadeloupe, with a wine reduction au jus to dip them in. The menu made my mouth water. I hadn’t been to Guadeloupe in years, and my mom hadn’t cooked any staples in a while. Every dish sounded amazing and I knew whatever I ordered would hit the spot.
“This menu looks right up your alley.” Aaliyah’s voice carried over her own menu, her eyes big and bright at the options. We both could throw down on some food, and with me ruining her Thai plans I’m sure this was an eventful decision. “Everything looks amazing, I don’t even know what to get.”
“Shit. Me either.” We both laughed at our indecisiveness.
“I was going to make you pick for me.”
I raised my eyebrows, shocked that she would leave that decision in my hands. “I think you maybe like Chicken Basquaise. It say it’s with peppers and curry so it’s spicy.”
“I was considering that.” She paused, eyeing the menu even more. “Either that or the Ratatouille Gumbo. There was something about the mix of peppers and veggies and sausages that made me excited.
I relayed both of our orders to the waiter, adding fritters and a rum punch for each of us. I knew the drink well, having it well before I was of legal age and always feeling the nostalgia of walking through the streets of Guadeloupe with my brothers, the breeze kissing my skin.
"Damn this is bomb.” Aaliyah said after her first sip.
“I know. Is a thing in Guadeloupe.” I explained to her. “These fritters too, they fresher there but still the flavor the same.” The chef nailed these.
I’d be sure to send my compliments.
Over the rest of the meal, we laughed, continuing to talk about everything under the sun that came up. She told me about work, the new job requirements, her sister, her parents, and how much she missed driving herself around. I talked about the tour, how strenuous things were, how silly Beyonce was, the cool stops we’d made, and the fans. Conversation flowed naturally and comfortably.
We picked from each other’s plates, engorged ourselves in various dishes, and now split a desert platter with a spiced creme brûlée that was fucking insane. The leftovers would be plentiful and likely I’d send them home with her.
The bill had yet to come to our table, and wouldn’t, as I’d prearranged to have dinner squared away before she could even offer.
We needed this.
For some reason I felt that the best way to get us to a place would be complete comfort. Aaliyah and I spent so much time stuck together and running from the inevitable. It was useless. But for one night I just wanted to see. I knew somewhere deep down, there was something worth fighting for, even if she didn’t believe it.
I was right.
Every time I made comments she brushed them off. Every little joke went past her with intention, and she shied away from seriousness like it was her most qualified job. But she knew just like I did.
When things were good, they were so good that they could outweigh the bad.
She and I were supposed to be something.
“Ladies and Gentlemen.” A black woman with a bald head stood up and greeted the full back area of the restaurant. “I’d like to thank you all for coming tonight, and because it is opening, I’d like for you all to meet the head chef who curated everything that was in front of you this evening. She worked long and hard crafting the perfect meal and dedicated a good amount of time to its quality.”
Everyone clapped, as she emerged from the back with a wide grin, her hands clasped. Even though we weren’t so close to the back, I could see her brown cheeks beginning to redden. Wispy hair hung from her bun, her bangs hung long and swept past her eyes, and I laughed to myself at how adorable she looked.
“Siobhan Michaud, everyone!” Aaliyah craned her neck and all of a sudden it clicked for her. Her eyes widened and her smile grew as she looked at me amidst her realization.
“Wait seriously? Why didn’t you tell me!”
I winked in response, and Aaliyah shook her head, still maintaining excitement at meeting one of my good friends from home.
Eventually Siobhan made her way to our table, to which I met her with the biggest hug I could. I really was proud of all of her accomplishments. She applied for this gig a while ago, asking me tips on living in New York and my opinion on what kind of food would go over well in Brooklyn. I just knew she’d get it, and she did. She’d been hand selected almost immediately. I’d been nothing but encouraging because Siobhan was a beast in the kitchen and I knew no matter what she brought to the states, she’d kill.
And that she did. All through out the night I kept my ears open toward the commentary from Aaliyah on the meal, as well as the others in tables nearby us. No one had even the slightest negative remark. I was also thankful for that, as I would have likely lost my cool and given away my familiarity with the chef had they been not so appreciative.
I introduced Aaliyah and Sisi, and their natural inclination was to hug and compliment one another as if they’d know each other forever. It made me happy to see, two women I held in high regard in the same place, vibing positively. Aaliyah couldn’t stop complimenting the meal and her talent, and Siobhan had heard so much of the work Aaliyah had put in for us and had to sing her praises in response.
“Listen, I have a connect with a food critic, I could have her stop by one night while you’re here!” Aaliyah began placing pegs.
“That would be amazing, Wow, I’m honored.”
“Oh please, you’re wonderful! I thought you specialized in Italian food, you clearly are extremely multifaceted. Those fritters? Bury me with a bag.”
“I’ll send some home with you.” Siobhan replied.
“You send some with me?” I asked, clutching my chest in mock hurt. Disgusted faces from both of them made me laugh audibly. “Hey, no fair you team up on me.”
“Boy.” “Tais toi.” They even brushed me off in unison.
“So what made you choose to do this style instead of sticking with how your restaurant is in Paris?”
“I started with Italian cuisine, it was the food I worked in when I was young… but branching out into a different style was always a dream of mine.” Her deep and guttural English was significantly better than mine, the accent lacing her words minimal. Living in London probably helped her with that. “If I was going to start anywhere, it would be with food from home. Creole styles, certain staples found in food from Guadeloupe? It just made sense.”
“Say no more.” Aaliyah snatched her phone from her bag and began sending a text, her fingers moving a mile a minute. “I’m messaging Cecily now, she’d love to hear all about your journey and is always looking to support women in food too.”
They both laughed and smiled as conversation continued, causing me to do the same. I chimed in occasionally, but there was something special about the natural connection between them. The time was passing and everything just felt… amazing.
“Excuse me…” a man walked over to our table with who I would assume was his son. “I don’t mean to be rude and please excuse me if this is out of line, but I’d like to take a picture with you both. My name is Chris and my son CJ here is a huge fan of you and your twin. I was so impressed by dinner and I -”
“Man it’s no problem with me as long as she cool.” I motioned to Siobhan.
“Of course.”
“I’ll take the picture for you all, how about that?” Aaliyah offered with a polite smile, before saying hello to both the man and his son.
After that, the three of us talked for a while until it had gotten late enough for Sisi to head back to the kitchen for clean up and prep for the next day.
The perfect ending to a perfect night.
“Larry I still can’t believe you didn’t tell me she was in town!” Aaliyah said as she looked over at me from the passenger seat. Traffic wasn’t crazy heading home and for this I was thankful. All I wanted to do right now was get some rest. My eyes felt lower, making me thankful for Aaliyah being here as a distraction. “Did your brother know?”
“Yeah, he going another night I think.” I recalled with a shrug.
“You should have brought him tonight.”
“No way.” I shook my head and yawned uncontrollably. “Tonight for us. It for you and me. It was perfect without him.
Aaliyah tried and failed at holding back her smile. "It was, wasn’t it.”
I raised my eyebrows at her, looking shocked at her response. When she questioned it I had to be forthcoming. “I wasn’t expecting you to be that honest about how you felt.”
“Neither was I.”
There was silence on both ends. Caribbean music filled the speakers as we rode peacefully. Jetlag and a full meal really had me exhausted. That third rum punch probably wasn’t the best idea. It didn’t matter though. The point was, I felt good.
I glanced over at Aaliyah, who simply leaned against the window, and I removed my hand from the shift and placed it gently on her knee. My heart beat faster when I felt the delicate touch of her fingertips, lining my rings and my veins. Her nails gently scraped in certain spaces, causing me to instinctively grip her knee.
A red light allowed me to look at her face on.
Just as I expected, the bright break lights of the people in front of us shined on her face, her brown eyes looking at me, her hands on mine. I swallowed, causing her to sigh and her bottom lip fell ever so slightly.
“So.” She exhaled deeply. “What’s next?”

honestly aksfkjaskjdfa. so i gotta twist the prompt a bit, yeah? tell me if you’ve read this then likes then reblogs lmao.
title: have you no idea that you’re in deep?
rating: G / word count: 1.8k / to celebrate jae’s upcoming birthday this one’s set on their upcoming Vlive “mama’s recipe” thingy / enjoy and comment on AO3 lol.
“everyone, right now we’re picking our teammates,” brian says to the camera to fill in the silence, “by drawing lots. it will be two versus three. so far, we have wonpil and jae-hyung picking two ends painted in red, and sungjin-hyung and dowoon with blue ends. now it’s my turn.”
jaehyung watches as brian, with what little variety show sense he has, carelessly picks the last lot with a loud exclaim. his end is painted in blue. sometimes, life just works in ways that jaehyung isn’t a big fan of.
he pretends to scoff at sungjin, dowoon, and brian team, bragging to the camera about wonpil who does the most cooking in their dorm anyway, meaning that he’s got some experience that’s not just ramyun or ordering seasoned fried chicken, nope, and at least wonpil is smiling and nodding like he’s satisfied by jaehyung’s acknowledgement—like he hasn’t been talking to jaehyung for approximately a week ever since that happened.
not that jaehyung himself tries to talk to wonpil, either, but you get the drill.
“eyy, still, our team has the mystery benefit because dowoon won the game!” sungjin laughs, crossing his arms. his apron has brown the bear from line messenger app. “PD-nim, may we know what’s the mystery benefit now?” he asks the PD, and apparently the benefit is unlimited phone call to someone’s mother whenever they’re not sure how the recipe goes.
“can we make overseas call?” brian widens his eyes, probably half for the camera and half genuinely hoping that he can call his mother in toronto.the PD shakes his head, smiling apologetically, and the whole studio goes ‘aahhh~’ and brian’s pout is definitely only a show for the camera.
dowoon raises his hand. “so what are we going to cook tonight?”
it’s bibimbap. that’s so easy even jaehyung thinks that he’s got the knack of putting boiled vegetables and whatever style meat on top of white rice and finished with soft-boiled egg and pepper paste.
except that there are a lot of steps to follow.
the red versus blue team are cooking side to side, and they have to finish cooking in just one hour. wonpil asks him if he’s ever cooked rice without rice cooker and jaehyung, for the sake of the fans, goes blank for a solid one blink of an eye to the camera. wonpil’s smile is helpless, and he’s giggling as he takes over to cook the rice manually, and tells jaehyung to start washing the vegetables.
first, jaehyung washes the carrots, complaining that they haven’t been peeled, then the bean sprouts, the spinach, and the shiitake mushrooms while wonpil measures the water needed to cook the rice manually. when he’s done with the rice and the portable stove is working its magic, he begins to mix sauces to marinate the beef.
only to pause after he puts a tablespoon of honey to the small bowl. “jae-hyung do you want cooked or boiled beef? wait, do you want to use chicken, instead?”jaehyung makes sure that he’s washed the shiitake mushrooms thoroughly before answering, “you’re making the sauce to marinate the beef, right? just don’t overseason it? i trust your judgement.”
wonpil nods, smiling, and then he’s explaining to the camera what other ingredients that he puts to make the sauce, spouting some cheesy remarks about wanting my days to try his cooking and winking cutely before the camera focuses to jaehyung.
“no one is really in charge of cooking in our dorm, but wonpil does it the most,” jaehyung says, peeking over wonpil’s shoulders and feeling the younger man stiffening upon their close proximity. “usually he cooks kimchi fried rice. but if we’re talking about ramen, dowoon cooks it the best. what? me? nah, i’m hopeless. i can fry eggs, maybe some instant pasta with their instant sauce. wonpil-sshi? what else can i help you with?”
“oh, would you please boil the vegetables and the mushrooms together?”“‘together’, like, together in one pot?”
“yes.”
“everyone, that’s how hopeless i am,” jaehyung confesses to the camera, laughing loudly at himself. “okay, i need water, right?”
wonpil is giggling again, his cat’s whiskers are making an appearance.
“boil the water until it bubbles, then adds two teaspoons of salt.”
“salt?”
“yes, jae-hyung, the basic seasoning for bibimbap’s veggies.”
“alright, chef.”
wonpil scrunches his nose and instructs jaehyung to just boil the spinach and beansprouts for one minute, two minutes for the shiitake mushrooms, and three minutes for the carrots. jaehyung doesn’t want to take any risk so he fishes out his phone and activates the timer.
but he seems to forget something.
something that the cameraman points out to him, asking him aren’t you supposed to slice the vegetables first? and jaehyung gapes, shocked, rendered to nothing thanks to his stupidity.
“really, jae-hyung?” dowoon clicks his tongue as he’s spying on the red team, one hand holding a big wooden spoon, doing nothing. brian and sungjin are also laughing at him, like they didn’t make two phone calls to sungjin’s mother for the past fifteen minutes to ask her to guide them step by step, then more.
wonpil is cackling. he has two hands covering his mouth and jaehyung is more relieved than anything else, because hey, at least i can make him laugh again.
“alright, everyone, don’t panic,” jaehyung recovers from his genuine shock to don the natural swag for the camera. he nods seriously as he takes a knife, and refuses to admit that he’s completely clueless; how the heck do you slice vegetables?
“hmm,” jaehyung hums, not really having to exaggerate his clueless expression and body language as his right hand is poised with the knife. “it’s like this, right?” he takes a deep breath and takes one big, cleaned carrot. he cuts it in half. but if he keeps going, the carrot will be sliced in circles and jaehyung is pretty sure bibimbap doesn’t have circled carrots. okay, maybe he should cut each into another half?
“jae-hyung?” wonpil asks, wiping his hands on the female white bunny apron he’s wearing, also a character from line messenger app. jaehyung’s is a tiny yellow chick, brian’s a blonde man with shoulder-length hair, and dowoon’s a bald, naked person. the aprons are all cute, unlike the vegetables that jaehyung has to tend to.
“yeah?”
“you’re bleeding!”
*
wonpil doesn’t usually say this, not even when he’s on the low, but right now he really, really kinda hates himself. the tears just won’t stop for some reason, and he was so distracted by jaehyung’s blood that he didn’t realize his fingers were sticky and peppery. brian says his eyes are swelling a little on the edges, puffy and teary, and more than anything else, not even how his face would turn out on cameras and on my days’ phone screens, he’s more worried about jaehyung’s fingers. the older man didn’t cut them deep, just a graze, really, but he’s been making wonpil sad ever since that happened.
the v live show must go on, though. sungjin volunteers to help and handles the vegetables with ease. jaehyung is frying two eggs as a side dish, and wonpil is still under the care of manager-hyung; an ice block is placed on his left eye.“you okay?” manager-hyung asks, sitting next to wonpil on the folded chair next to the PD.
“yes, hyung. i’m so sorry.” wonpil says, sniffing.
“it’s okay. five more minutes?”
“yes, please.”
five minutes are enough for wonpil to watch jaehyung laughing and talking to the camera. five minutes are a long time to remember what happened last week; the soft and pillowy feeling of jaehyung’s lips on his, the sharp alcohol breath and the tender hands on his cheeks. if wonpil concentrates with all of his might, he can feel the same electricity just by imagining those calloused fingers on his skin just like last week when, under the influence of one bottle of soju, jaehyung decided that it was the right time to kiss wonpil without any preamble, leaving wonpil questioning everything.
everything that includes, why, and other why why why that follows.why did he kiss me?
why didn’t he say anything?
why is he ignoring me?
why am i avoiding him?
why don’t i ask him why?
and the tears flowed because today is jaehyung’s birthday. birthdays are supposed to be special, yet wonpil just has to ruin it by crying uncontrollably just because jaehyung grazes his fingers with a knife. he’s 25 years old, for god’s sake, he looked even more bewildered by wonpil’s sudden crying rather than his actual pain.
“wonpil-sshi? whenever you’re ready.” the PD is smiling at him, his hat says ‘good day’ and wonpil is determined to make it up for jaehyung today.
who doesn’t even bat an eyelash when he bounces back to his spot, the only reaction he has is to tell wonpil to try the boiled vegetables, and nothing else, not until he’s placing a comforting hand on wonpil’s lower back and speaking in a softer, less show off-y tone.
“i’m sorry, jae-hyung,” wonpil mumbles, though it might be still recorded on the camera anyway.
“for what?” jaehyung mumbles back, not leaving wonpil’s side, his hand warming wonpil from inside and out.
“i ruined your birthday,” wonpil huffs, “the blood was too much.”
“don’t be silly,” jaehyung says, smiling, leaning down to whisper, “i’m sorry tho. i’m a coward.”
“me too,” wonpil agrees, and their moment is broken by dowoon reminding them with faux-concern that they only have fifteen minutes left.
surprisingly, the last fifteen minutes run smoothly. the rice is cooked to perfection and the too salty vegetables can be fixed with just soaking them in lukewarm water to rinse off the salty taste. jaehyung loves the marinated beef, and his fried eggs are looking great when they’re put as a garnish on top of their hot stone bowls. in the end, because of limited duration, they don’t hold a final showdown based on the PD’s voting and they all get to finish their bibimbap after saying goodbyes to the camera.
the hearts stopped at 2,739,023 mark.
in the van on their way back home, sungjin is sleeping on the front seat, and brian and dowoon are not much more awake than him on the middle, while wonpil and jaehyung are sitting just inches apart at the very back, their phones in hands, typing confessions that can’t be verbally said out in the open. wonpil asks a lot of whys, and jaehyung explains it’s because i’ve always wanted to kiss you but, you know, we live in a crowded dorm and, i don’t know, you have this vibe that i just—i just don’t want to taint you or something, wonpillie, what i feel for you is so strong sometimes i’m afraid it will consume you. me. i mean—
and wonpil shuts him up with a quick peck to his pillowy lips as he talks nonsense about what he’s feeling without knowing just how much his is towards him—and jaehyung is chuckling, it’s rumbling low like he’s either super amused and confused and wonpil reaches out to pinch his waist, prompting him to squeal and causing dowoon to wake up, whining at them to just get back to sleep.

Pink
Pairing: Jaehyun x Taeyong, Jaeyong Genre: Fluff ( I don’t know. I’ve tried but it doesn’t feel like fluff) Description: In which Jaehyun and Taeyong are not in the same band, where Jaehyun is Taeyong’s sunbae and he has a huge crush on the pink hair boy.
“Jae,” his band member calls out to him. The said man reluctantly tears his eyes away from the nicely designed scripted card in his hands. He is the MC for Music Bank today and damn he is nervous as hell that he can’t even pronounce the words correctly.
“What?” A frown laces on his lips when Yuta, his japanese band mate grins so wide; the grin that their fans always squeal at but now Jaehyun finds it extremely annoying.
Yuta purses his lips together, jutting them out while tilting his head to the right before the annoying grin returns to his face. Jaehyun follows Yuta’s direction; shifting his gaze to his right and his eyes almost immediately settles on a familiar pastel pink hair.
Jaehyun forgets to breath for a second.
Standing 10 meters away from him, stood a goddess with wide doe eyes that never fails to mesmerize Jaehyun, tinted dusty rose lips and cute nose that complete his handsome features. Jung Jaehyun can feel his chest tightens and his whole attention automatically change to the pretty boy that stands out like a sore thumb in the sea of other idols that gather in the waiting area. “Tell the manager I’m... just make an excuse for me, will you?”
Yuta laughs, rolling his eyes playfully as he gives his band mate an encouraging nudge with his elbow. “Go get him, tiger.”
Jaehyun doesn’t need to be told twice. He is already on his feet, marching his way pass the crowds of people to make it to the other side of the room. Along the way, he quickly nods and greets the others but his eyes never waver from staring at the pink hair goddess, securing his target’s location like a hungry predator hunting it’s prey.
A scowl curves on his lips when a tall man approaches his prey, smiling and touching the latter. On first glance, they look close but Jaehyun sees how uncomfortable the goddess is when the man holds his arm. The man says something and the goddess only awkwardly smiles, the smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. He sees the beauty shakes his head, disagreeing with whatever the man suggests but the man pulls the pink hair beauty to follow him and Jaehyun knows this is where he should interrupt.
“Taeyong,” he calls out, jogging towards their direction with an innocent grin on his face.
Taeyong, the pink hair goddess Jaehyun has a huge crush on (according to Yuta; Jaehyun thinks he just adores and appreciates Taeyong’s beauty), smiles back, looking glad at Jaehyun’s presence. He shrugs off the other’s hold on his arm and fully turns his body and attention to the newcomer. “Jaehyun-sunbae!”
Jaehyun snorts, chuckling at Taeyong’s words. “Oh please, don’t call me that. It’s only a year apart, Taeyong. Plus, we’re bros. No honorific needed.”
“Still,”
Jaehyun doesn’t know if Taeyong’s bothered with what he is going to do or not, but he figures he could apologize later on, so he grabs Taeyong’s waist and pulls him close to give the said man a loud smooch on his cheek. Taeyong laughs, putting his hands on Jaehyun’s chest but not pushing away.
“Jaehyun-sunbae!”
During times like this, Jaehyun really does appreciate Korea’s skin ship culture and ‘bromance’ because no one gives them the dirty look which is good since he could touch and kiss Taeyong whenever he likes (as long as the said man permits him to).
The unknown man clears his throat, announcing his presence. Confusion is written all over his face and Jaehyun can’t help but to smirk (just for a split second tho. He wants no trouble with other idols especially not with those he’s not familiar with) before faking his interests in the man’s presence.
The man smiles professionally at Jaehyun but his eyes fail to hide the jealousy that is starting to boil in him.
Victory. Jaehyun cheers internally.
“Hai, my name is Jaehyun.” he introduces himself, his arms still wrapping around Taeyong’s side.
“Junho,” the man says back, eyes shifting from Jaehyun to Taeyong. “Both of you seems close.”
“Of course,” Jaehyun tightens his grip on Taeyong’s waist as he turns to look at the pink hair man, smiling proudly because it feels like he is claiming Taeyong as his, his Taeyong. “We shared the same waiting room when he first debuted.”
“I was very nervous at that time but Jaehyun-sunbaenim cheered for me and made me feel all better.” Taeyong adds.
“Now our baby Taeyong is rocking the stage like he belongs there!” Jaehyun dives in to kiss Taeyong on the side of his head, not pulling away from Taeyong this time. “You’re getting prettier too,” Jaehyun’s praises, his lips touching Taeyong’s soft skin.
Taeyong squeals, slapping Jaehyun’s arm that is now curling around his shoulders. “Sunbae it tickles!”
Maybe Junho is annoyed at the overly display of affection (which is Jaehyun’s purpose in the first place) because he takes his leave almost immediately after.
“Thank you for saving me, Jaehyun sunbae,” Taeyong says when Junho is finally out of his sight.
Jaehyun lets Taeyong leans against his broad chest while he snakes his arms around Taeyong’s slender waist and back, pulling the latter closer. He likes how soft Taeyong is and the warmth that the pretty boy radiates. If possible, Jaehyun badly wants to have Taeyong as his human pillow. “Your sunbae?”
Taeyong sighs, hiding his face at the crook of Jaehyun’s nape. “Yeah. Same company. I don’t like him. He keeps on hitting on me even though I’ve politely declined him numerous time before. Pushy.”
“I hope I’m not that pushy or anything. Am I?”
Taeyong looks up, shaking his head hurriedly much to Jaehyun’s pleasure. “Sunbae you’re not.”
“And I hope you’re not mad that I kiss you.”
“It took me by surprise but I’m okay with it.”
“Good because that won’t be the last.” Jaehyun jokes tho apart of him will definitely feel miserable if he could not kiss the pretty Taeyong anymore.
“Sheesh.”
Taeyong crinkles his nose and Jaehyun can’t help but to laugh. Taeyong is so damn adorable that Jaehyun feels the desire to embrace the man in his arms and never let go. Maybe he should hide Taeyong in his pocket so he would not have to share the beauty with the whole world.
Jung Jaehyun doesn’t really like to share.
“Anyways, why are you here?”
“Ah!” Jaehyun quickly fishes out his phone from his pocket with his one hand. “I forgot to ask for your number last time and it was rough sleeping at night not knowing it.”
Taeyong keys in his number while letting Jaehyun runs his fingers through his pink hair, feeling comfortable enough to share his personal space with Jaehyun. He saves his number under the name ‘TY Jaehyunnie loves the most’ and Jaehyun is so close to attack Taeyong with wet sloppy kiss. Too cute!
“Send me a text and tell me it’s you, alright? I don’t reply texts or answer calls from unknown number.”
“Okay, pretty doll.”
Jaehyun gives Taeyong one last kiss on his temple before he sees his manager glaring at him and panic Yuta signaling him to ‘comeback quickly or the manager hyung will slaughter us’.
---
“So, Jaehyun-ssi, what is your ideal girlfriend type?”
Yuta profusely coughs and Jaehyun feels like slapping the latter square on the face. The interviewer laughs, looking at both of them confusedly, anticipating Jaehyun’s answer.
“I think I like someone who is cute, a little bit feisty and have large eyes.”
“Any idol that you think resemble your ideal type?”
“There’s one!” Yuta dares to spit it out. He laughs out loud when Jaehyun curses at him under his breath, eyes widening, threatening Yuta to ‘shut the fuck up’ but Yuta pretends he does not understand the warning signals. “He’s a real pretty one! From the rookie line.”
“Omo, I wonder who he is!”
Jaehyun smiles threateningly at Yuta before turning to look at the interviewer. He rubs the back of his nape, unsure whether he should be honest and proudly says the person’s name or just lie for the sake of covering the person’s identity. But the devil whispers in his ears and he badly wants to put his mark on this person, to announce to the world that this man is his and only his.
“I really like Taeyong, actually.”
The girl gasps loudly at Jaehyun’s words. For a moment, she is lost for words that she can’t help but to keep her round eyes on Jaehyun. “The solo rookie Lee Taeyong?”
Jaehyun smiles nervously. “That one.”
Yuta is laughing like a hyena in the background, hitting Jaehyun’s shoulders, teasing his bandmate. “Whenever Taeyong-ssi’s around, Jaehyun is like ‘Do I look okay? Should I go talk to him?’ Jaehyun really likes Taeyong-ssi.”
For once, the urge to kill Yuta feels so strong. Jaehyun has to grit his teeth or else the whole world could see the killer glare he has on his friend.
“Then Jaehyun-ssi should send a video message to Taeyong-ssi!”
And Jaehyun really feels like hiding his face in the ground like an ostrich at this moment. The decision to be honest seems to backfire on him and he wonders if Taeyong is going to distance himself away from Jaehyun from now on.
He really doesn’t want to do it, to humiliate himself any further and destroy whatever he has with Taeyong right now but the camera is already zooming in his face and Yuta as well the interviewer is rooting for him to confess to Taeyong out loud, leaving Jaehyun no choice.
“Taeyong-ah,” Jaehyun begins after taking a deep breath in, cheeks flushing red. “I think that you’re so pretty and handsome. I like it when you act cute too. I hope you like me too. Let’s go on a date, Taeyong-ah. I love you.”
Later that night, the news spread like wildfire and both of his and Taeyong’s name pop first on the search chart. Jaehyun doesn’t know if it’s a good or a bad thing and he doesn’t hear anything from Taeyong. He wonders if Taeyong is pissed at him. Thanks to this, Jung Jaehyun could barely get a good sleep as his mind is filled with nothing but Taeyong.

The Fate of the Furious: Dom and Letty
This will be full of spoilers, so I’m gonna cut it, but I’ve been bombarded on Instagram with questions that I hope this post will answer… Feel free to ask anything it doesn’t. My inbox’s always open. It’s a very fangirl-ish post.
So, someone asked me how the movie can still be worth seeing, if Dom’s the father of Elena’s baby - which he is - and here’s why:
You have to keep in mind that I met Vin like 15 minutes before the screening started, so it was very hard for me to focus during the first 20 minutes or so, and basically the duration of the film. This might not be a 100% accurate cuz I’m sure I missed some of the details, but it’s still what happens in the movie... One way or the other.
First of all, the scene we’ve been waiting for - the bed scene. They were SO IN LOVE in that moment, like two teenagers, that I can accept the fact it was way too short. Letty mentions them seeing a dad and his son and that she thinks he’ll be a great father, and then, if I remember correctly, he lifts the blanket a little and touches her belly and she laughs and says she’s not pregnant and that cute little laugh of her KILLED ME! So sweet omg! She also kisses his chest and touches his chin which I thought was just super adorable. She says “Look at that smile” when she sees that lovey dovey look on his face and that she loves seeing him happy or he says he’s happy. Can’t remember the exact words but one of them definitely mentions happiness and it was so fucking cute, y’all gonna squeal, trust me! Also, when Letty tells him she’s not pregnant (THAT CHUCKLE THO 😍) and says “We need to think about why we never asked the question” or somethin, his smirk was so fucking cute! I DIED! The happiness that radiates from the both of them is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life I really can’t! And when she mentions his smile I was beyond done!!! FUCKING OMG!
My second favorite scene is when they reunited… or the alley scene… I’m not sure yet… THEIR REUNION CUZ OF THE SMOOCHES AND THE HUGGING! I CANNOT DEAL! So, as we’ve seen in one trailer, Dom jumps his car over the sub and it crashes, but he manages to get out before that happens. Then the sub blows up and since he has no cover, the team shields him from the heat with their cars. I really liked that scene, ‘cause it shows how much of a damn family they are even after all this shit Dom pulled! Then Letty gets out of her car and walks towards him while he’s getting up from the ground and he’s like “I have a lot to explain” and she goes “Starting with that bitch” 😂  They kiss and it’s so cute! Camera focuses on Rome (their faces are blurry but you can still see them smooching) and he says something like “Now THAT’S the Dom I know” That was so sweet and funny! And then the focus goes back on Dom and Letty and they hug and it’s not just any kind of hug but one of those I’m holding the most precious human being in the entire universe in my arms kinda hug and he tells her “You know I never left you… I never will.” and they kiss again…… The way she chuckles mentioning that bitch! She just seems so happy, so relieved! They both do! I think they give each other like 3 little kisses or so and the hugs are emotional af! I think they even let go for a quick second and then hug again, because it feels so damn right. And I was sitting there like CAUSE OF DEATH: CUTENESS! And when he’s already back with the fam and Letty’s in danger but then saves herself by pulling a stunt with her car he’s like “That’s my girl” and I literally squealed so hard cuz HE WAS SO GODDAMN PROUD OF HIS GIRL! I NEEDED JESUS!
Also there’s one point where he’s still bad and they drive next to each other and the looks were killing me! Them too, I think! But then later you have like almost the exact moment where he’s back with the team and I just fucking LOVE how different it is. Letty’s smile!!!!
The scene in the alley where he’s chasing after her cuz she got the case was so intense! I imagined it to be, but it was NOTHING like I imagined it to be. It was WORSE! Even more intense than I ever could’ve imagined! I had TEARS in my eyes during that scene! He sees her getting away and you can tell he’s torn, like he doesn’t wanna stop her but he knows he has to, and so he fires his gun in the air and then happens what we see happening in the trailer. They talk and she tells him “I don’t know why you’re doing this, but I know one thing… You love me and you are not gonna shoot me.” And when she walks away and turns the corner, Rhodes is there putting a gun to Letty’s head. And then Dom puts a gun to Rhodes head (I SCREAMED BECAUSE YAY DOM!) and he’s ready to pull the trigger. You gotta love that no matter how much he wants to protect that baby, his and Elena’s baby, he’s willing to risk that baby getting killed to save his wife. Y’all go watch that scene and tell me it doesn’t mean that his wife is more important to him than that son he’s got and I call you a fucking liar because DAMN! LETTY IS HIS HEART! Anyway, Letty lets go of the case and Dom and Rhodes leave, and the moment Dom’s out of sight, I WAS CRUSHED cuz she breaks down crying I mean she tries not to cry but that doesn’t work very well. She literally tries to steady herself grabbing the wall cuz she knows if she doesn’t do that, she’s gonna fall to the floor and drown in her puddle of tears. It broke my fucking heart! SERIOUSLY I ALMOST CRIED WTF IS MITCHY DOING KILLING ME WITH DA ACTING! 😭 Her emotion in that scene! Dammit! I was a 1000% done!
When Ramsay says they might have to accept the fact that Dom really has gone rogue and insinuated that they should give up on him you hear a loud bang which is Letty slamming the car door shut and then she says like “You wouldn’t even be breathing right now if it weren’t for Dom. He saved you!” and walks past her bumping her shoulder! QUEEN! And Roman goes “You’re just gonna let her do that? Bump your shoulder like that? I mean it was pretty aggressive” Ramsey sits down in front of her laptop and Rome says “What? You’re gonna write her an email?” 😂😂😂 Honestly, even though I kinda knew what to expect, that movie made me feel uneasy af, so every lil’ laugh I could get out of it was a true blessing! So, thank you Roman.
One thing that absolutely disgusted me was the emotion between Dom and Elena. You gotta prepare for that. That was honestly the ONLY thing I didn’t like. And well, the fact that he calls the kid Brian, which is stupid af, but I just pretend his name is Marcus, and Marcus only, so it’s cool. Smh. But about that emotion… When Dom is on the plane and Cipher’s like “I think I have to remind you why you choose to do this” he gets to see Elena. And his face when he sees that baby was a bit odd to me cuz I thought he saw that kid already when Cipher handed him that phone in Cuba… Maybe it was seeing him face to face for the first time, Idk… Anyway, Elena puts her hand up to the glass that separates them, he puts his hand up too. So they touch but not really, you know? And I was screaming internally like WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING THAT YOU IDIOT!!! There was just too much emotion… It kinda grossed me out. It felt pretty intimate to me and I don’t like to think of those two that way. There wasn’t a longing look on his face or love in his eyes or anything, but there definitely was SOMETHING in his eyes and I didn’t like it. I didn’t want him to be looking at Elena that way. Whatever way! I hated it! And I also kinda hated seeing him cry when he sees his kid and him telling Cipher that the most painful moment for him was his son reaching out for him and Dom not being able to touch him… I wish his painful moment had been about Letty… Oh, and Dom looks up to the sky during the BBQ scene (to dead!Elena) and says “I’ll take good care of OUR son” Ugh like why the fuck did he say that? But well, I realized fairly quickly that there’s a solution to this problem and it’s to focus on what’s happening between Dom and Letty cuz if you’re able to ignore that Dom and Elena shit by focusing on the emotion between Dom and Letty, you’re gonna experience one hell of a ride going through all kinds of emotion and it’s fucking epic!
Anonymous said:                                                                      Were dom and letty together at the end of the movie?
The end scene needs to go up on that list of scenes that are my fav, because it was really beautiful! I always said to people who asked me that I might be able to accept this baby, if I truly believe Letty’s happy and if I don’t have the feeling like this was something that was forced on her, y’know? And tbh, she is so very happy in that last bit! It IS a matter of opinion after all, I guess, but to me, she only seemed a little bummed out that the baby isn’t hers. Just a wee bit. She did seem more like she was just happy to have him back and see him happy and I also think it helped her that the baby was so cute and there was no drama with the baby mama to expect because Elena’s dead.  The ending wasn’t even that out of character for me. For Letty, I mean. Just something about it made me feel like I understood why she doesn’t freak out or get mad at him and leaves his sorry ass… Like I said, whatever talk they had about the baby, she didn’t seem like she was pushed to be there. She seemed like she totally wanted to be there. By Dom’s side. With this baby.
When Dom waits for Deckard to arrive with his kid, she stands next to him, and she gets close to him and smiles, saying “Dont worry, he’ll be here soon” and then she pecks him on the arm and that was such a sweet little thing she did there, such a sweet little kiss… I STILL CANNOT! And the moment when Dom introduces his son to her and says she’s the most important person in his universe she got so shy and her smile was so sweet! It was so fucking adorbs HELP ME 😍😍😍  There’s another scene where Dom holds the baby and she says he (the baby) looks cute and then Dom tightens his grip around her and it is such a beautiful moment tbh… They looked so happy omg 😭❤ Maybe she says he’s adorable but she definitely says something about the baby that just makes him so fucking smile and happy and God it is so sweet you don’t wanna miss it for the world! That’s why I’m saying you gotta see it! It’s so easy to ignore the whole Elena thing cuz our babies are so so fucking cute in that movie and precious and THE FOCUS OF ATTENTION! So many times where the camera’s on Letty and we see how she feels even if she’s not saying anything and with Dom too and the vibe they were giving me in that last scene was like they went right back into honeymoon mode after that BBQ like they probably gave the baby to the guys and got right on to that 😂 They really seemed like they couldn’t wait to get back to that thing they were doing in Cuba 😏👉👌😇
Anonymous said:                                                                      doesn’t a part of you still just want to scream at vin and the writers about the faults in the timeline that they had to make in order for this storyline to be true?! or for writing something like this at all?!
Only like a very tiny part of me. I didn’t know I’d be feeling like this after watching it tbh. I expected to be disappointed. I’m so glad I saw it because I’m really not that pissed anymore. A little maybe. I’m still pissed they did this baby thing, they should’ve casted an older baby not to mess up the timeline (Elena says she found out before he went to get Letty back so at least he’s not a cheater!), but I do love the movie. A LOT. Simply because it’s all about them. About their love and how strong it is. Can’t hate that can ya? Those scenes between Dom and Letty are full of love, hurt, desperation, longing, … so many things, and F. Gary did an awesome job capturing that. And I swear, Vinchelle brought their A-fucking-game! Their acting is off the charts! Insane! Especially in those moments they have together. So yeah… Letty not being the mother of his first child sucks an awful lot, but that movie screams! It screams, Letty is his true love, his one and only, and they literally can get through anything. Any. Fucking. Little. Thing. They love each other so much and they’re my babies and like I said I cried at some points 😭❤ Seeing the movie was really good for me. It helped me cope with this huge mess we were thrown into. I seriously can’t wait to see it again! I wouldn’t be surprised if you feel the same but OMG the scene where they reunite is absolutely beautiful! All the smooching and hugging and the way they both chuckle! God that was the fanficiest moment of them all I think 😂
Anonymous said:                                                                      What happens in the after credit scene in F8?
There wasn’t a tag ending, but I felt like there was still more story to tell, so I really hope they’ll do at least ONE movie after this… I mean to hell with it, gimme both! And I hope she’ll get pregnant. I’ll be sad if she won’t.
Anonymous said:                                                                      Is Luke Evans in Fast 8?
He has a small cameo, yes. It was awesome!
Anonymous said:                                                                      do you think ramsey is gonna be anyones love interest in fast 8?
Ramsey is not anyone’s love interest, but there’s a funny scene between her and Tej and Rome at the end. I won’t spoil that 😋

sooooooooooo purcon3 let’s do this
so we actually got there on thursday (james blunt was on our flight in like wtf????) and waited around to check in and explored what was around the hotel food wise so then went upstairs to get ready to get ready for little mix. then we went downstairs to ask at the desk where to buy a ticket for the trams and we saw rob checking in lol we had to point out where the lifts were cos that boy was not gonna go in the right direction.
anyways little mix and the vamps were fucking lit the crowd was so loud they were v good. so we went back and slept day 1 done
day 2 we explored some more got some pretzels it was chill. it was also really warm i was like wtf this isn’t what i signed up for. and then we like queued to register which only took like an hour and got our tickets to rob’s concert. we went upstairs got changed, did rob’s concert. ngl the crowd pissed me off. like a whole bunch of people were talking over him while he spoke and while he sang it was really rude???? i didn’t get why you would pay to go and not even listen to him. but i kept accidentally making eye contact with gil while i was singing along and i got embarrassed lmao.
day 3 first thing we did was matt’s lounge which got me so nervous i wish i recorded it on my phone but i thought it would be like rogue where you kept your bags somewhere else so i didn’t think i would have been able to but oh well. so matt answered some questions and like it went silent and he like looked at me and i put my hand up to ask something and he said “oh good i was going to pick on your because you were just sat there smiling” which i know i do i just can’t help it listening to him talk about his ideas and what he has to say makes me really happy. so yeah i asked what his favourite song in moana is and he got sooooooooo happy cos i know he loves that movie and he went on about it and was telling the other people who hadn’t seen it that they had to see it. he said there might be something cool happening next season, it’s not set in stone but if it happens it’s something he thinks everyone needs right now. and that something cool is gonna happen in the first part of the comic con panel and if there’s a livestream people should watch it. he asked who had travelled to be here and we said we were from england and he was like “where?” and we were like south west and he was like “but where?” and we were like bristol and he was like “but where?” and we were like farmer country and he talked about how he wants to move out of la eventually and go to oregon and set up a farm and be completely self sufficient food-wise and how he’s planted stuff in his garden and he really wants macklin to be surrounded by nature i thought that was so interesting and cute
so then after that there were panels and tbh i can’t really remember a lot but so photos i got two pictures with matt i got a kiss on the cheek (in which my eyes are closed and i got to retake the day after) i still got a pic of it tho and i kinda prefer it but i didn’t like the print out of it i just like the photo of the print so probably still a good move and then i wanted a full body hug without my face in it and i had to show him a pic on my phone and my hands were shaking so much when i tried to open it he was like ‘you’re okay it’s okay’. like i fr don’t know what happened to me this con cos at asylum 16 i was so chill but he made me so nervous and emotional at this one??? it was so weird. but yeah so we did that and then i did my rich and he said he liked my outfit and i was rly surprised i was like ‘OH! thank you!” and we did judging faces at the camera and i got a hug with rob because i don’t have a photo with him at all so yay.
then we got food and then did karaoke which was LIT we were second row and gil like posed for my camera (it’s my sister’s but i was taking the pics at that point) twice and rob smiled at us and matt gave us the mic during boulevard of broken dreams like and i was looking down and when i looked up at him he was already looking at me and smiling i wish i had taken pictures but it made me freeze up. but yeah i got some great photos
day 4 we had our r2m pictures first and we gave them sunglasses and were like “pretend you’re cool” and rich was like “pretend????? we are cool” and we were like ok dude and then we were like so you know in kings on con when you’re in the cupboard and matt’s like “rich is right you’re fuck up rob we want you gone!!” can we do that and after we took it they were like that’s so good and then i had my matt retakes and i actually bought another one with him in the morning lmao whatever i’m trash i’ve accepted it and i got one of us holding hands too because my last one rogue didn’t INCLUDE OUR HANDS IN THE PIC WYD but yeah so that was that it was then just panels for the rest of the day for me my sister had some other pics with rich and gil but i was done. the panels were odd, the questions were kinda generic and i felt like rich was lowkey done lmao and like i don’t think some of the jokes landed with the audience idk it felt like a v different atmosphere to the crowds in england. but yeah i also wish people would ask matt more questions???? i feel like he barely gets asked anything at r2m panels and it makes me kinda sad lol cos he’s actually really smart and heartfelt i wish he had the chance to speak more.
but anyways autos happened and okay i felt really emotional i wrote out a letter for matt in the queue just basically thanking him for coming to conventions and his openess with the fans and like thanking him for using his platform in the way that he does and the way he’s so positive. i told him in it that i don’t actually watch the show anymore but i come to the cons because of him mainly it was stuff i wish i could say to him but i thought it would be more articulate if i wrote it down so. i felt like i knew i was gonna cry on him so i wanted to do his auto last to kinda prepare myself more but he didn’t have a queue so we had to do him first :) so we went i had him sign my photo and like i thanked him for coming and i handed it to him and i could see my hands shake and i like felt my face crumple and i welled up and i was like “sorry” and he was like “no don’t cry” and i was like “i don’t know why i’m crying sorry” and he was like “as long as they’re happy tears yeah” and i was like yeah and thanked him again and like while we queued for gil like i still felt myself tearing up i never actually cried but like i just felt on the verge for like the whole of gil and rich’s queue lmao and i like saw him read it while we were queuing and i was like oh god no i want to take it back no and so my sister got her gil auto and then we did rich’s and he said i photograph really well and that i’m a very pretty person and omg rich is just so calming like to be around??? like matt made me feel so like emotional this weekend and rich was just like so chill and calm. so then we did rob and i had him sign my photo and we talked to him about his concert on friday then i had him write out my tattoo for me and when i said what it was he smiled and he looked idk so genuine when he looked at me and thanked me for coming so then i um and ah over getting a second matt auto mainly because i didn’t want my last interaction with him to be crying on him but then i thought i still might cry on him again if i got another so i left it and we hung about.
so then matt finishes autos and he leaves the room, he looks at me and i waved bye to him and he like stopped and came over and said “i read your letter. thank you so much for doing that for me. I will definitely keep coming back to cons for you” and he said to my sister “i don’t know if you feel the same way” and she was like “she wouldn’t let me read it” which was true lmao and he said it was so sweet and he would be coming back and my sister said about asylum and he said he should be due for the one next year and that we had to pester wayne to get him rob and rich to come and then we hugged him and that was that. i’m so happy he did that it literally made my weekend.
then the closing ceremony happened and gil sang music of the night and i died and yeah we all sang the musical version of carry on my wayward son it was sad and made me emo that was the last episode of supernatural that i actually watched so (bar matt’s most recent one). then we went to get food and my sister had to go up and get the ice cream sandwich she ordered and all the guests turned up we were like ffs and then they ordered and said bye when we left and then we waited like 10 mins before leaving cos we didn’t wanna look like we were following them lmao.
yeah i was a great weekend, it was kinda odd cos it didn’t actually feel like it was happening while it was??? and it doesn’t actually feel like it happened as i write this??? like i’m sad that it’s over but also in a hollow way????? but also matt’s friend on twitter screenshotted my tweets and matt liked the tweet so he saw me saying mark sheppard is a shady ass which is
so yeah day 5 we explored but we couldn’t really appreciate it cos it was fucking 31 degrees and then we flew home
i have work tomorrow i don’t want to go i just want to lie in bed and be sad about matt not being my best friend. anyways that’s everything i think i love rich i love rob and i love matt very much i hope i get to see him again next year
