This was such a small moment but I liked this interaction between Amethio and Friede. Amethio wondering what the move Rayquaza used was, and Friede casually telling him the move's name.
It shows that Amethio still has a lot to learn and in this moment, he admitted that he didn't know something, and Friede offered him an answer, teaching him and willing to tell him about things he doesn't know.

Should i invest in Dark Souls? 😶 I don't really play anything outside FF
WELL, MOOSH, YOU ASK ME DERE A FINE QUESTION.
Because, to be honest, I was put off about playing Dark Souls myself. My roommate is a beast at playing it, but seeing him play the game and subsequently rage when he first started playing Dark Souls III, I was all ‘EEEEEH MAYBE NOT?’
But what really got me interested in the Souls series wasn’t necessarily the gameplay or the thrill of being a boss destroyer, but it was the lore behind it. Alot of it is subtle and not outright because it’s things that you read VIA item lore, listen to through NPC dialogue, or you make your own assumptions as the little subtle details really make you think more about the game. Like, my favorite pieces of lore comes from Sister Friede from the DLC, Ashes of Ariandel, where you find out that she was once tasked with the same task as the protagonists from the first two games, but she failed and became what’s known as an ‘Ashen One,’ or Unkindled like the character you play in Dark Souls III. It’s really really neat, and there’s so much going on beneath the surface if you take the time to think about the game in a story context.
Not to mention the character designs too? Oooh boy…! I adore their designs so much, and their actual character designs contribute so much to how their boss fights function as well, how their lore plays out – legit, this game is not short of detail, for everything in the game is designed to be there.
But I digress. You asked me if you should invest in the game! I’ll be honest, I don’t recommend Dark Souls if you are…A) Easy to make upset, for this game will destroy your heart and soul with how much rage it can induce.B) Easy to invoke rage in, because sometimes the game really screws you over at points in terms of boss strategies or just really dumb things sometimes.C) A person with high stress and anxiety, because this game is stressful as heck as you’re trying to learn it and pick it up.and D) Not willing to learn the game’s strategies through alot of dying. Like, ALOT.
Because to be honest, Dark Souls isn’t a game about getting your ass kicked over and over again because you’re a masochist looking for a challenge. It’s a game about learning how to fight the enemies, a strategy game and a studying game that takes time to learn and master. And it takes, you know, alot of getting your ass kicked. But once you manage to start learning the game, it’s definitely a really rewarding result. Like, me beating the tutorial boss was the most satisfying thing in the world in Dark Souls III. Even more exciting when I beat the first boss in Bloodborne (because holy HELL, that dude annihilated me).
But if you’re picking up a game from the Souls series, there a few things I can recommend to you:
1) Play the game with a friend or two. Usually in the first parts of the game, you’ll have to run it solo. But playing with friends – especially a friend a bit more experienced that you – makes it fun enough to where the bosses are a new challenge, but you can be more invested in the story and lore rather than screaming and stressing over a boss. I do this with my friends, and it’s definitely alot more pleasant to die around them than to die by myself.
2) Play Bloodborne, if you have a PS4 first. That’s my personal recommendation, but Bloodborne, I feel, is the hardest between Dark Souls III and this guy. This one’s faster and harder to learn, but it’s a good introduction into the Souls series. It’ll teach you the basics, and definitely force you to learn HOW TO DODGE. Especially since you don’t get a shield in Bloodborne like you do in Dark Souls.
3) Take breaks when you play the game. This game can pop blood vessels at some points, so don’t get discouraged! Take breaks, and think of the strategy again. Heck, try summoning people to help you – random people, NPCs, or friends – there’s no harm in doing such!
But beyond that, I actually do recommend this game to play! It’s a fun game once you get rolling. Or if anything, try brushing up on the lore sometimes for the fun of it. :D It’s a great game, and well worth all of the pain and suffering over it!
