No but for real I’m listening to dndads latest episode [s2ep33] a second time and
Stewie does say “my dad goes there” when he’s talking about the bar to the group. And Peter is in that bar when they get there. And when they find scam he’s shifted into lois. So like. I think scam just like. Birthed Actual Stewie Griffin From Family Guy and Stewie wants to kill him. Bc he’s Lois.
I know very little about family guy but I feel like that’s a thing in the show too……..
……..
It is, I checked the wiki
Tumblr media
we’re all guessing who Stewie secretly is and why he’d wanna kill scam but it’s just bc none of us have actually seen family guy so we didn’t know that’s just a plot from the show 😭😭😭
Hermie your real actual brother is real actual stewie griffin from family guy……

"[] I'm speaking to my own experience here and I'm not sure how universal or not universal it is, but I think, with kids raised by boomers, boomer-adjecent people, especially people who tend to put people in sort of of binary boxes, you generally see anger rewarded in boys and sadness rewarded in girls. And what I mean by that is that anger as an emotion is an active, like, doable thing--feeling, and I think that men who feel angry are in some senses rewarded or seen as more masculine for being angry. [] And something I experienced when I was little was that it was ok for me to be sad, like that was chill, but being angry was a naughty thing. I was not allowed to be angry because that's a bad person thing, or whatever.
And I think that women are rewarded, or at least very much more accepted, to be sad rather than angry. I think ultimately what am I saying other than that people just freak out if you exit a certain binary box that you've been placed in. But I think that almost all anger that I see in the perpetual toxicity of men raising angry men raising angry men, is that there's a deep sadness below all of that."

From like. a character analysis perspective. i LOVE Ashton's tendency to have some very good instincts when it comes to like human nature and fuckery that are also very clearly swayed by their own experiences and biases, because the combination of correct gut instincts with strong confidence makes it. Easy to buy in. Or easy to bristle.
Ashton tells F.C.G "This is what happens when you start externalizing every fucking problem that you have-" and, with affection towards F.C.G- well. Yeah. And then he starts breaking down the issue- how its about people with power fucking with others, how the end goal and the aim doesn't matter, their methods are clearly AWFUL and going to harm tons of people, and besides, if they had such a clear and proper image about what they're going to achieve they could just tell people. They're going to hurt people, they're killing, people, fuck that, fuck them.
"It's easy to make a nice world by killing everyone who disagrees with you. If you get down to five it'll be amazing. Fucking utopia."
Its- beautiful. And correct, in more ways than one, and probably what everyone needed to hear, and also has so much of their own experiences and resentment threaded into it, reductive to an almost dangerous point. Dangerous because he's right, in so many ways, and confident and righteous with it. Dangerous because of how the life lessons and the rage and the loss have left them with base tenets about human nature and motivations that are clear cut and resigned and simple. Because simplicity is powerful, and reassuring, and keeps them going, and is also not infallible.
I just feel like. Ashton is so, so fucking right, often and especially here, is confident in his stances and judgement in a way that has been tested by flame and resigned itself to pessimism. Ashton is so right, and the reasoning is often so sound and tempting, and there's also so much of them, their own losses and shortcomings that bleeds into their confident readings of the world and its overall nature, in ways they maybe don't even realize.
ashton is- full of solid instincts, and also flawed by having lived their life firsthand, and also confident in a way that is reassuring until you find yourself in a blindspot, up against an immovable rockface.

This might be way too early in the show to start spouting theories but I think Dai has a greater role to play in the Arthurian apocalypse than his 'Nameless' status would suggest.
I think he's a Narrator, or maybe the Narrator.
With one of the main themes of the show being stories and narratives, a crucial aspect of that is there actually being someone to tell the story in the first place, there needs to be someone to pass on the tall tales and weave them together so that the audience can feel specific emotions. Joy, catharsis, sadness, hope.
Also Dai has been the only one to have a solo piece before each episode where he's talking directly to us dear listeners. His monologues set the stage for the emotional undertones of the episode And the fact that he sings before it feels so important, too (his va has a lovely voice btw). Almost every story I can think of that started as an oral tradition was originally told with some kind of musical accompaniment or with a set beat and metric structure. It's like it's harkening back to these old practices.
And with that I think Nameless folk as a whole have more importance than Kay's 'lambs to the slaughter' stance suggests, because who else would be their Audience? Who else would hear their stories if everyone outside of the Named died because of Phenomena?

I decided to throw regal’s podcast on in the background while I’m working on some boring, repetitive stuff for work and on the new episode in the first ten minutes he talks about why he flirts with excalibur (to help excalibur lighten the mood/take some of the pressure off him for a second from how long he’s been working the announce table) and why he likes to add some flirtiness in general to his character (to make homophobic people uncomfortable) and just. what did we do to deserve this man
