Why the heck E-123 Omega fascinates me so much
Look I'm not going to lie to you the reason I love Omega so much is that his canon writing is actually pretty lazy. They needed a "Heavy" character to pair with Shadow and Rouge so the writers had them stumble into a robot in the basement who's Gamma's half cousin-brother-something.
Hey player, remember that robot who had an arc and turned good in Sonic Adventure? let's just do that but again. don't worry about it don't think about it too hard.
Except the writers got even lazier this time around and his ENTIRE POTENTIAL CHARACTER ARC is summarized in one line by Rouge's dialogue, "You're mad at Eggman for sealing you in this room" (Sonic Heroes, 2003). Gamma's entire character arc, summarized neatly for the player, so they can start the platforming sections as soon as possible. It's videogame writing. It's not supposed to be a literary masterpiece, so it makes sense that they're borrowing on a concept that a fan of the Sonic games would have seen before if they'd payed Sonic Adventure.
Except, in the attempt to be as lazy as possible, they accidentally created a new type of character that hasn't been explored before??
Because Omega is NOT Gamma. Omega couldn't possibly be more different from Gamma! One destroys Eggman robots to bring about peace, the other as an act of war. One is quiet and contemplative, the other loud and brash. One chooses to cease existing, while the other so desperately wants to live. One is gentle and kind, and the other is just so angry.
In a franchise full of themes about the responsibility of creators to not cause harm with or to their creations, it's baffling to me that Omega is just dropped into the narrative and then promptly forgotten about. There's so many implications with Omega that would be fascinating to dig into from a fan perspective!
What made him the way that he is? Why is he so different from Gamma, so furious?
Now that he's out of the basement, how will he learn about the world outside?
How does his perspective of his origin from Eggman color his experiences and beliefs about things?
This guy has never had a friend before. How does he react to that?
How does he, an ex-Eggman robot designed to kill supersonic hedgehogs, interact with Sonic, the person he was likely designed to kill? Moreover, how does Sonic react to him in return?
Does Omega ever get lonely, as the only robot amongst organics?
How does he relate to Shadow, who was also made as a living weapon?
Meanwhile, trying to get him to show vulnerability is like pulling teeth. It takes a herculean effort to get him to show anything other than the front he puts up. Why's he putting up this front? What could get him to let down this front, even if just for a moment?
(for fuck's sake he's a tsundere. This should be at least a popular topic to explore, shouldn't it?)
And look, I understand. The reason that Omega hasn't been explored nearly as much Shadow is because he's been in less games and, when he has been in games, he's written as a one-note comic relief. But. . . so has Knuckles. So has Amy. So has Sonic. So has Rouge. . . the list goes on, yet the fandom lovingly embraces complex fan characterizations for them. But some fans continue to see Omega as a non-character. Which, as I've just explained, is baffling to me, because this guy has so much potential and transformative fan works are a place to explore that potential.
TL;DR: funny gun robot spin in my brain like he's in microwave despite the intentions of the Sonic Heroes writers. hehe. Go vote for Omega in the Team Dark poll.

Knock, knock it's Knuckles! And he's looking for love. The two things we know about our lone echidna from Angel Island is that his weakness is girls (he's a shy guy) and that he once asked his dad if he could be date men and his dad said no (Archie Comics - also, this is a comedic exaggeration of what actually happened, don't quote me). Clearly, this confused bisexual needs our help, which is why we've gathered here one more time to do another ship battles: this time for Knuckles ships

SONIC his desk is meant for carving and sleeping on it, nothing more. you guys sit all the way in the back (come on, this is sonic we're talking about) so he's your eating-during-class buddy. you know him well enough to know he pays little to no attention in class and somehow gets better grades than you? you've also lost count of how many times he's asked you to ditch class with him.
KNUCKLES doesn't pay attention unless it's something he's actually interested in, not to mention he doesn't know what's going on during a lesson most of the time anyways. he relies on you a lot as well. it's gotten to the point that for the sake of him and his grades, you just let him study your notes before tests. also wants to slam his desk everytime the teacher says "the bell doesn't dismiss you, i do".
TAILS the smartest kid in class, but you should know that. always turns his assignments on time and has never been absent. he's always willing to share his notes with you when the teacher is going to fast or you just happen to miss a day. the teacher already knows that y'all have to sit next to each other because otherwise you'll never get your work done.
SHADOW refused to make any interaction with anyone at first, but you grew on him over time. has this whole "i go to school to study, not make friends" attitude. enjoys drinking coffee with you every morning at your desks, so y'all bond over that. it's no secret he's a smartass, so if a topic is too hard for you, he'll lean over and whisper the answer in your ear, which makes you flustered everytime.
SILVER never have you met someone so organized but a mess at the same time lol. he is known for having the prettiest handwriting his journals are so well put together and is generally organized in that sense. drops his utensils all the time tho, and you're always the one to find and hand them back to him. it started happening so often that you figured he may just be doing it to get closer to you.

The Time has come, I shall speak now about my one true pairing, the couple I love the most in Sonic's universe: Knuckles×Rouge
Knouge is a relationship trope that simply works sooooo fucking well!!😖😖 It's fresh juice of the finest quality👌👌, I have seen this kind of relationship a lot: Scrooge x Goldie, Carmelita x Sly, Puss x kitty and of course Batman x Catwoman... 😏😏 (by the way all this couples already kissed, what the fuck are you waiting for SEGA? 😒😒) Is basically the kind of relationship that has losts of banter and tension and honestly they give a lot of material for good juicy stories.
This was the first relationship that could be considered canon in the games regarding having mutual feelings for each other (because at that time Sonic didn't have the relationship with Amy that he has now). When Rouge was introduced in Sonic Adventure 2, she was created to be Knuckles' rival in skills but not only that, she was intended to be also his love interest in a more specific way but in the end they decided to keep things more subtle and not as completely obvious as Amy's display of feelings for Sonic, also she was going to be named Nails the bat, so Nails 💅 and Knuckles 👊 rhymes with Tails but they named her ROUGE which means RED in French a ROMANCE language, red like Knuckles I'm just saying.
SA2 in fact has the very first "romantic" scene between two sonic characters, because absolutely no one will convince me ever that the moment when he saves her and they look into each other's eyes holding hands wasn't a romantic scene, like seriously 😤😏👇
and look what I found, this is an official sonic book from SEGA:

So the best words to describe them are: "Polar opposites attraction" "Pure vs flirtatious" "Honor vs dirty play" "Guardian vs Thief" "Endless banter" "Arguing married couple" And of course: "SEXUAL TENSION" 😂😂 even in the damn soundtrack!! Have you listened to Knuckles theme? "Kick the rock (Wild Canyon)" SEGA approved that song! 😂 Here let me show the best part of the lyrics:
"I gotta chase a bat, uh" "Yeah Rouge she is sexy and smooth, a double cross spy thief that's out for my jewels, uh! I'm feeling her in mysterious ways" Boy... Knuckles suddenly got hit by puberty or something 😂😂 he was unknowingly horny for her already...
"Who could'a did this? That snitch named Rouge! When I catch her I'm gonna get her with these tools" There you are, come here little thief! Think you going to fly and get away quick? Uh, uh! Give up the Emerald or die! I don't love you!! " And now he becomes a tsundere denying feelings nobody asked him if he has 😂 and we all know he wouldn't let her die.
Also the most important thing that makes them absolutely canon is that Sonic ships them, Sonic's shipping mind is indisputable, he did it a few times already: in Sonic Rivals he asks them if they are on a date, in one of Sonic's phone games they start arguing because Knuckles was salty that Rouge was so nice wishing Sonic happy birthday and that she wasn't that nice to him in HIS birthday (jealous much?) and Sonic says to tails that that is true love and then Rouge goes full tsundere denying it 😂😂😂, precious 👌👌.
Let's also mention what happened in sonic X specifically with the original Japanese dub, Rouge just wouldn't stop flirting (+backstabbing let's be honest😛) and knuckles wouldn't stop reacting to it 😂
In this scene ☝ in Japanese she purposely asked him if he was "active" At night too 🤣🤣🤣 she just meant she is active at night because she is a bat... But the way she said that 😆, she was known for making lots of dirty jokes in the Japanese version... Ok but leaving that aside I want to mention only one specific moment because in general the dynamic was the same: she flirts and jokes, he falls for it ect... But this scene was my favorite because this was literally a date.

So many things to say about this scene, first the romantic full moon night background, in Japan when someone says the "moon is beautiful tonight" Means "I like/love you", unfortunately none of them said anything like that but with all this is just plain obvious this was a romantic setting, Rouge was trying to get Knuckles to be emotional because she knows he misses Sonic and wanted him to think she is so caring and compassionate and give her jewels 😂 but he ends up being stubborn breaking the mood and accuses her to be the one who misses him making her angry and start a fight but after a while they see Sonic in the sky and Rouge says they look dumb and wonders why were they fighting for in the first place, Knuckles laughs at her messy face and THEN she playfully jumps on him and he says she is tickling him??????? Of course this part is conveniently out of camera and we can only hear whatever the hell they are doing 😂😏 but now think about it... What were they doing? She was on top of him on the floor under the moonlight tickling him.... AND NOTHING ELSE HAPPENED?? Yeah come on! I don't believe that 😏, we know Rouge doesn't waste time:
Boy that's an ugly ugly comic and speaking of comics, remembering the old Archie comics too... After that dark era where Rouge was a unfairly represented as a villainous cruel bitch 😤🤬 there was a reboot before the IDW reboot and finally my waifu got at least some justice! I just love this particular comic where she shows how she actually respects Knuckles and cares about him, she is someone who never gets attached too much to big responsibilities if that cuts her freedom, she values her freedom (something in common with Sonic) and she wanted Knuckles to have that kind of freedom too:
Look at her being a peacemaker between her boyfriend and brother 😆. Well anyway I hope Ian Flynn gets more freedom eventually because it's clear he is holding back in the current Sonic comics😭😭😭 (even made a joke with the love triangle 😂😂)
Let's give it time... They managed to put some furry lesbians in the comic so anything is possible... I'll just wait forever 🥲🥲🥲🥲
And well we also got some good stuff in Sonic Prime!! 😍😍😍 we finally saw him carrying her bridal style in a angst situation 🤩🤩🤩 for a brief moment and from long distance camera shot but is still something 🥲🥲 just zoom it.

What Your Favourite Sonic Ship Says About you! (Part 2)
(Sonuckles, Sonaze, Sonilver)

FULL DISCLAIMER: Shipping is a hot topic of debate, but this post is lighthearted fun! I'm a multi-shipper, I love most of these ships - and I can see why some people like the dynamics that I might not. This is not a bashing post, this is fun time. So, without further ado-
Sonuckles
So you took Knuxouge off of the shelf, took it to the counter - and you said: "Hey, can I get this kind of dynamic but reduce the amount of fighting and sexual tension a bit to instead replace it with a more friendly rivalry... also make it gay and uhhhh... can you also throw in just a fuckton of bromance? Your entire stock of it?" The result was thusly - Sonuckles.
The rivalry dynamic of Sonadow is also appealing to you, but you just prefer dynamics on the healthier side. But does that mean you don't like angst? Fuck no, you love angst. In fact, you won't shut up about how Knuckles is one of the most tragic characters in the series to literally anyone who will listen. You just want good things for the red boy, and that means giving him a boyfriend - and that's so valid.
And it makes perfect sense to you, right? Opposites attract - Sonic the freedom-loving hero who's always running free, and Knuckles - the sturdy rock, chained to his island. They're good for each other, aren't they? Sonic encourages Knuckles to get out there and live, while Knuckles teaches Sonic to slow down sometimes and take more responsibility. They improve each other, just like any good ship does. As far as Ao3 goes... you're a hurt/comfort person, right? And honestly, angst and fluff - you can take both on.
You're either new to this ship, or you've been here a while and you're just so fucking stunned at the amount of fuel 2022 ended up giving you, but you are so happy either way. For you, there's no greater time to be a Sonic fan.... Anyway, sun and moon symbolism - am I right?
Sonaze
Honestly? I think you're fucking based. The more I look at this one, the more it just makes sense. I see you, I absolutely see where your headspace is at. You are a person with taste and class, okay? Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. This ship is like - the pistachio ice cream of Sonic ships. To an outsider - it might seem strange, but as they grow older and wiser - they'll have an appreciation for it.
Again - Sonic, free as the wind - cocky and chaotic, paired with the more rigid and formal Blaze? Again, it's the similar appeal of opposites attract - and you prefer a ship where they don't beat each other up as a ritual. And just like Sonuckles - they bring out the best in each other, and encourage each other to try different lifestyles and values. A pair of mutual respect, both can kick ass - and that Blaze/Percival blush in Black Knight? That is all the source of your joy. You still aren't over the Rush series, and you keep returning to see the end of the first Rush game.
I looked on Ao3 for tagged Sonaze fics for the sake of this post and you only have 77? Absolutely criminal, I say. You poor shippers are starved, especially with the lack of Blaze content you're getting in canon. You poor things. Let's hope things get better. But let's think about your favourite tropes for a second... destined/star-crossed lovers, is it? Forbidden romance too? You are a fluff enjoyer but you'll occassionally dabble in some bittersweet endings.
Seriously, I'm not exactly a strong shipper of this one - but the fic potential this ship has that isn't acted upon baffles me. Like - Sonic and Blaze struggling to navigate a love across entire dimensions? Blaze being a princess, and despite loving her - Sonic wants nothing to do with the royal life? UGH! I came up with that in a literal minute, so the lack of fan content you have? Abysmal. We need to do better.
Sonilver
I... apologise in advance because this one I'm not quite so familiar with. Like, I knew this ship existed but I wasn't so aware of it's popularity. Like, there are more Sonilver fics on Ao3 than there are Sonaze - that fascinates me. Although I do have to wonder how many of those are Sonic, Shadow, and Silver poly fics...
I'm trying to figure out the appeal and my best guess is that rivalries are nice and all but just not your personal cup of tea - your cup of tea, when it comes to gay hedgehogs ships - is wholesome - and you need a lot of it. What's better than one dork? Two dorks - and that's what this ship gives you. It has everything you need to be happy - and I understand. I get you.
But honestly, it's so hard to deduce what your Ao3 preferences are - I do feel as though you are a bit of a wild card. However I do feel as though you're a fluff, hurt/comfort kind of person - for the most part. Either way, you're probably a cool person irl. This ship has flew straight past my radar which means you probably aren't vocal in shipping debates - which means you're not obnoxious. So congratulations on being cool, and so dang self-assured in your preferences. As with Sonaze shippers, I would like to sincerely apologise - because you are also snubbed in the content department.

My Sonic Predictions and Hopes for 2024
Admittedly some of these are things I want to see happen rather than things that are likely to happen, but what the heck, I’ll list ‘em out and see if any of them end up coming true. 🤷🏻♀️
A one-shot for the comics involving either springtime or Valentine’s Day. I think spring is more likely since (1) they’re avoiding romance and Valentine’s Day is a romantic holiday, and (2) having a springtime one-shot nicely follows the trend of having Endless Summer and Winter Special one-shots.
I’m pretty pessimistic about the third movie still happening in 2024 given how stubborn the studios are being about the strikes, so I’m guessing the release date will be pushed back to 2025. However, I do think 2024 will bring us a trailer/teaser with some news about casting and whether any new characters besides Shadow will feature.
Part 3 of Sonic Prime, which will likely involve something bad happening to Shadow for reasons explained here. PLEASE LET THIS ONE BE TRUE I NEED PART 3 NOW
A DLC, update, or some kind of “Plus” pack for Sonic Superstars since that seems to be the trend now.
I doubt we’ll see much more for Frontiers since it won’t really be a new game anymore and will have already had a big update. Maybe a few minor tweaks like a new outfit or pair of shoes.
A new Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games title since 2024 will have the Paris Olympics.
More Sonic Symphony tour dates, one of them probably being New York since that’s a really big city for them to leave out.
More merchandise, possibly featuring Shadow to tie in with the third movie.
The Knuckles TV show released on DVD (hopefully).
The comics will take a darker turn again. They seem to alternate between dark, serious arcs and fun, light-hearted arcs. Right now, they’re on Misadventures, which is fun and light-hearted, so I suspect that at some point in 2024, things will turn serious again.
I also suspect that Starline might be revealed to have survived after all, but that could just be wishful thinking on my part since I like his character and was sad to see such a cool villain go so quickly.
Another visual novel or some kind of storybook thing that builds on the success of Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. No way is something that successful gonna be a one-time deal.
A remaster or re-release/port of an older game. The titles I think are most likely are Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic and the Black Knight. Adventure 2 would tie nicely into the release of the third movie (especially if they’re adapting its storyline) and they clearly know how popular it is since they released a new figure for it and put City Escape in one of their other games. Heroes is possible since it’s 20+ years old, had some songs included in Frontiers, and the franchise as a whole seems to be leaning toward having more playable characters and team/partner-based play. Murder and Superstars lean into this hard, Origins added Amy, and Frontiers will soon have other playable characters too, so I think they’re testing the waters for a game with an ensemble cast. The launch of the Fast Friends comic series on their socials also shows a lean in this direction. Black Knight is possible since 2024 would be the game’s 15th anniversary, the storybook setup was well received in Murder, and they seem to be calling attention to it by putting its characters in their mobile games.
Again, these are just guesses and I could be wrong about all of them. We shall see… 👀

Miles "Tails" Prower Headcanons

Tails has autism and OCD next question !
I think when he's a little kid he's very shy, a bit on the quiet end, still super sweet, but the older he gets the more stoic he gets
He goes from like cute UwU baby shy to awkward and uncomfortable to be around shy to I honestly didn't even know he was there. Did he come with you? Shy
That's not to say he doesn't talk, but he doesn't do well in big groups, and definitely manages to master the art of simply blending into the group
I think Tails has taken apart and rebuilt Omega at LEAST once. Maybe it was to understand eggman tech, maybe it was just for funzies, maybe Omega volunteered, who knows
Tails' winter coat is a very pale lavender and stark white
Tails' claws have cut through many MANY pairs of gloves as he's gotten older
He gets a bit of a temper when he hits maybe 13-16 somewhere in that age range. I mean he spends a lot of time with Knuckles and Shadow, and Sonic also has trouble his rage from time to time
I mean, even Amy has a temper lol what did everyone expect
Tails' workshop is basically just a sensory room, not that he would ever CALL it that...
It has 2 floors, the bottom floor and half a top floor
Complete with lights that he can dim and brighten as he pleases, the top floor has walls floors and furniture that are sensory friendly, and a corner that he claims is for Sonic that has soft weighted blankets and a couple huge bean bags
I think his workshop runs a bit cold, so his coat comes in kinda splotchy during warmer months
Tails has fixed the Chaotix phones so many times that he has made them virtually indestructible
But as punishment, their phones are basically bricks lol

Like sure it tells time and makes phone calls but it also has holograms and can store chaos energy probably, they also have trackers that can be turned off or on by either the user or Tails himself

Sonic's eyes glow in the dark because of all his time spent with chaos energy, Tails eyes give off a dim version of that
He cannot STAND when people touch his stuff, even if they don't move it, they still touched it WITHOUT asking liiiiike make it make sense

He has a lot of verbal stims, especially when he's focused on something. He tends to gekker and chitter under his breath, and he clacks his teeth together too
He also does these things when he's incredibly happy or angry, just most times he is experiencing a lot of emotion. It took a long time for him to willing stim in front of more people then just Sonic

As he gets older, Tails stops introducing himself as Tails and starts saying Miles, but he doesn't get rid of the nickname Tails either, it's just something that's reserved for his family
Tails is very adept with guns. Whether it's from spending time with Shadow or his own interest with learning, he knows what he's doing, though it's not his weapon of choice, at least not a traditional one

Pairing: Romantic - Rivalry

- For this I'll be depicting Sonic.EXE as a demon like in the last fic I wrote for him.
- We could also think of this in two ways.
- Sonic and Sonic.EXE are in two different bodies, or they're in the same body and fight for control.
- If they are in two different bodies it's a shock to the both of you when you find there's a doppelganger Sonic wandering around.
- Perhaps Sonic.EXE has the ability to look exactly like Sonic to fool you and others?
- That or if they share the same body and Sonic got corrupted somehow, the demon hiding within and watching you.
- That's just some background on how the rivalry could work.
- Before the existence of Sonic.EXE, Sonic was already a little obsessed over you.
- You two were great friends and got along well with others.
- Occasionally the hedgehog acted jealous over you spending more time with Tails or Knuckles but his crush was small then.
- It only intensifies when Sonic.EXE appears.
- If Sonic somehow got possessed by this new unknown demon, EXE would pick up on his crush.
- Which could be one way it intensifies to something more obsessive.
- Then there's if EXE simply copied Sonic, wishing to harm him and his friends.
- What better way to torment the hedgehog than ruin what he loves most, right?
- As expected, Sonic's the more overprotective Yandere of the two.
- He wants you safe, happy, and beside him with a smile.
- While Sonic.EXE is the more sadistic Yandere.
- The demon wants you to cower before him, treat him like a God, acknowledge the fact you're at his mercy.
- Once Sonic knows something is up he does whatever is in his power to stop this beast from harming you.
- Sonic.EXE has fun putting Sonic and his friends through hell and back in front of you.
- Watch as your beloved friends suffer at his hands.
- The two would probably be even matched, if not, Sonic.EXE would have more of an advantage.
- The two would never stop fighting until one of them goes down.
- Like in the original creepypasta, EXE would target Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman.
- Tails and Knuckles because they are close to you and Sonic.
- Eggman due to him causing trouble for you in the past. (or you're close to him for some reason too?)
- It brings glee to the demon to make you watch your friends suffer.
- Sonic would be saved for last as he's lasted this long.
- Even if he and Sonic are in the same body at this stage, he'd copy himself over into a clone to complete his game.
- You both have nothing except each other.
- Sonic still vows to keep you safe and to himself despite the horrors he's seen.
- EXE on the other hand is determined to take this hedgehog's place and claim you as his new doll.
- The final battle will be bloody and disturbing.
- Whoever wins in this battle of good and evil will determine how you live your life... even if you lost your friends along the way.
- "I won't let you take (Y/N) away. You may have taken everything else, but you can't take (Y/N)!"
- "You've already lost, hedgehog. Now kneel and accept your fate."

This is BugBear, aka Jewel the Beetle and Bark the Polar Bear. I've been losing my absolute mind over this rarepair for... Two years now?
The two have NEVER canonically met, but the pair was inspired by @bitter-sweet-coffee reminding me this moment exists in the IDW Sonic comics:
(Jewel is 2'7" tall, that is Storm the Albatross holding her in that panel, he stands at 4'7" tall. Bark himself is 5'11" tall. This is all important to the madness.)
BSC and I had set out to make a gag ship for laughs initially. How funny would it be to see tiny Jewel paired up with one of the 4 foot plus, muscular characters? It'd be COMICAL-
Until we settled on Bark, and it instantly quit being funny.
Jewel is an anxious sweetheart, and Bark is a shy, soft spoken gentle giant. Both of them have crazy best friends they desperately attempt to wrangle (with little success). They deserve a quiet relationship where they don't have to constantly be on and ready for the other to do something completely insane and potentially dangerous.
Jewel would be a little afraid of Bark upon first meeting him, but she'd see the real him and warm up eventually.
Speaking of warming up, I like to play with the fact that the Sonic characters are animals and bring in what species are cold blooded and warm blooded into my shipping shenanigans. Who would make a better cuddle buddy than A MASSIVE POLAR BEAR???

So, as for it being discovered by the comic writers... I took a brief peek at your blog and didn't see anything to indicate if you're in the Sonic fandom, so I will keep this brief. Ian Flynn is one of the main writers on the IDW Sonic comics. He also runs a podcast called the BumbleKast, and back on Valentine's Day they made the BOLD DECISION to discuss shipping. Oh boy...
Their guest... Commentator? (I don't go to podcasts typically, not certain what the terminology is for what the speakers are called. 🤷) @/pedanticat (Not sure if they want the tag, so I will spare them from being part of this essay for now.) brought up the ship during the episode, having either seen it floating around on here, or over on Twitter when I posted some art by hansuart and @seagull-scribbles (both posted with permission) over there. And like... BugBear isn't like some other rarer Sonic ships where a couple people might've had the idea independently of each other and it's hard to gauge who got there first. Unless I'm missing someone or something, I'M the first person to mention it, and the art that does exist of it exists because I infected the artists with the same brainrot... So... Oops...
The ship was brought up during the question at 46:03 (Have you ever seen shipping fanart of two Sonic characters that made you go "Huh, I never thought of that pairing, but I could see it working"?) But the exact timestamp it comes into discussion is at 49:11. "A crackship that isn't too crazy" was the verdict. I will take it and be annoying about it forever:

ok so all the sonic channel calendar art for this year is out now they just posted the last one last night i think. overall thoughts are that i really liked the theme they were going for this year all the art is really cute i love seeing them put those beasts in an outfit. i just wish the silver and blaze one had been a different set of characters not because i dont like them but because its the only art to have both characters be ones that already showed up in earlier stuff and it just feels weird and out of place and they could have given other characters a chance you know.
#and i know sonic got two pictures too but#both times he got art the second character was someone who hadnt showed up yet#also the second time was super sonic not normal sonic so it still feels somewhat new and not like a full repeat#anyway my favorite is definitely the sonic and knuckles one. that was one of the pairs i was wanting to get art the whole time#as you all probably guessed from how i was campaigning for sonic to win that poll like my life depended on it#to the point where me being annoying was possibly part of the reason he won#considering sonic got a huge spike in votes at the same time my post was going around#also sonic in his little jester outfit is SOOOOO CUTE hes just a silly guy !

Alrighty!
1: OTP
This is honestly a tricky one for both men, and people may be surprised by the answer.
Who I pair Antonio with may change later since I still need to read the Manga, but I do picture him as having a 'buried so deep he doesn't acknowledge it' crush on Kotetsu and used to have one on Tomoe as well but of course kept his lips shut (which also answers the OT3 question for him as well haha). With *just* the anime taken into account, his crush on Agnes isn't belivable, you 100% need supplementary material to even have his 'I'm trying to get *Agnes* a gift' thing at the end of S2 come across as believable and not just a cheap expectation divergence for the sake of it. So right now it's kind of, no OTP for him, but Antonio/Kotetsu is crammed into a little box in the corner in my head.
As for Ryan, I don't ship him with anyone too strongly bc the only 'older' (aka mid 30s at youngest in my head) women in the show are Agnes and Nathan, and whilst either could be interesting in theory I don't think it would work out for either of them lol. I'm a Ryan Milf Hunter truther, meaning I don't ship him with Karina at all. Like, I dunno man, him flirting with her mother right in front of her is kinda sending clear signals to me. Someone please write Golden Ryan x MILF!Reader fics I think that would be funny.
3: NoTP
This one is also tricky. I classify a NOTP as something that is able to render me physically uncomfortable if discussed, which aside from some generally obvious child / adult ships and similar ships in here, I don't think I have that reaction to anything. Closest is for Antonio is that I think Ivan is allowed to have a crush on him but Antonio would like, nephew-zone him, much like how Kotetsu has niece-zoned Karina at least twice now. And similarly while not exactly an NOTP for Ryan, I again just don't see him with Karina, she's not in the age bracket he's interested in; too young.
12: Funniest/Craziest AU?
Honestly there's not a lot of AUs I can think of that revolve specifically around a character. Antonio has a bit of a sad one I have saved for him so it's not applicable here, but for Ryan I *did* write a fic where he and Ivan go to the beach bc he wants to help Ivan 'hunt for babes', that was pretty fun to write. Molly comes with, btw. But I don't consider that an AU bc I tried to keep it canon compliant, so...yeah, don't have much for ryan, at the moment.
22: Give us a HC
Antonio - He's secretly semi-fluent in Japanese because he wanted to learn due to being friends with Kotetsu and Tomoe and wanting to communicate with them in private when in public (at least when in Sternbild).
Ryan - Everyone seems to make fun of just how *fake* of a shade of yellow his hair is, but it's also very hard to get it to that colour if your hair is naturally dark (everyone remember Morita's The Live Incident? Bleached his hair so hard by best he could achieve was some cherry red-brown). Naturally, Ryan is a Platinum Blond like Ivan is, but with the colour being so un-vibrant combined with Ryan's desire to stand out, he dyes it a horrific yellow.
23: Has Fav ship changed overtime?
Across all fandoms and my time being alive, certainly. As a young kid I got into Avatar, as one does, and something both outright turned me off from Katara with Aang and hooked me on Katara with Zuko. I don't know, I think it's just a difference of how chemistry can be forced in terms of writing. Tunnel of Love is the bane of like 8yo me's existence is all i'm gonna say.
Next I moved onto sonic and oh man there were so many goddamn ships. Sticking strictly to Canon on Canon, I think my first fav sonic ship was Tails and Cream, and currently it's Sonic with either Blaze or Knuckles (though for Sonaze specifically I view it as starcrossed and I do have a fic idea on exploring that *evil laughs*). If anyone wants a thicker rundown of the sonic ship timeline feel free to ask for 23 again and state sonic only lolll
Then I caved into despair like lord Enoshima would have wanted and got a double whammy of Hetalia and Danganronpa around the same timeframe. For Hetalia, you can rip the old bickering married couple of France and England from my cold dead hands, and then I had several for Danganronpa but the one I think I championed for the hardest out of sheer 'it's getting drowned out by the less interesting shit' was Shuichi x Kaito. Like, my guys, Shuichi catches HIS GAY THOUGHTS ON KAITO IN THE MIDDLE OF AN FTE. I genuinely don't know how other ships have stronger bases bc of that one moment. But also, that would require the DR fandom to know how to read, so (/j).
And then came Persona 5. So many good ships in here, I still adore stuff like Joker with both Yusuke and Ryuji, and I also got a soft spot for Ryuji with Yusuke or Haru. (In fact I have an AU fic I promise I havent abandoned abt Ryukita. The two men are early 20s in the fic with jobs and Ryuji is even a single father.)
And now we arrive at present time, where these petty argument idiots have taken over my brain, send help. Honourable mention will have to go to Keith with Cis bc that episode completley destroyed me it's like a brain worm and I cannot pluck it out.

Amy Ship Tournament Nominations
While in Japan she was introduced as Nikki's girlfriend in the manga, to many of us in the rest of the world, Amy Rose was introduced as a spirited girl who had a crush on Sonic. She's gone from chasing him to being a part of the core team and whether she's looking for love or looking to spread love for the world around her, Amy has been a big focus on the fandom and certainly of the shipping scene ever since she first appeared
Which is why our third tournament will be focused on ships featuring Amy Rose. Submit as many ships as you like - the more nominations we get, the bigger the bracket. Repeat nominations also help with seeding by showing the popular options, so please don't hesitate to submit ships you assume will have already been submitted

Most importantly: BE NICE. No bashing of any ship will be welcomed. Use your propaganda to uplift your own ship, not put down others
Any Amy ships from any media is welcome - be it the games, comics, cartoons or anything else
Only ships including the character Amy Rose will be accepted (e.g. Amy/Tekno, Amy/Silver, etc.). Ships for other characters in the series that do not involve Amy (e.g. Tails/Kit, Knuckles/Rouge, Dave/Meh Burger, etc.) will get their own tournaments later on. Submissions that do not follow this rule will be ignored

No Amy x OC ships. All of your OCs are great and we wouldn't want anyone's feelings hurt by seeing them knocked out :( For the sake of this tournament, an OC is a fan-made character that has never been used nor was created to be used in licensed Sonic media (So yes, you can submit cancelled character ships if any of those apply to Amy)
We do accept crossover ships. Preferrably from series that Sonic has officially crossed over with, but anything is fine I may make posts asking for feedback on crossovers with franchises I'm less familiar with

If you have a specific version of the ship that you like, specify what it is and this will be counted as separate to the general ship, e.g. Amy/Sonic (general) and Amy/Sonic (Sonic X) would be included as separate ships
Ships pairing Amy with younger characters like Cream or Charmy obviously won't be accepted. If a ship is submitted and I'm worried it might make waves, I'll run a poll to see if it should be included in the tournament or not

Note: every ship (excluding Knuxuge bc that is the only ship I have zero thoughts about other than "its canon") will have caveats to it.
Most of them being I do not have enough knowledge of the actual source(s) to have an opinion
My other one being I really don't care about the supposed canonisity of a ship so if you're wondering why theres only one ship in OTP its bc most of the others have some sort of hc attached to it (ex : All of Sonic's parings)
I love them!:
Hey look its the individual ships that make up SonAmyShad! In all honesty, I really like these three ships individually too, but I will gravitate towards the Sonic pairings more than Shadamy on an individual basis.
And I'm going to say it here Sonic as a character has two modes for me in a shipping sense- Hes either a disaster biromantic demiace or straight up aroace (no inbeween)
I like Sonamy in sense that yeah I can see yeah it can be cute but only if Amy isn't portrayed as an obsessed stalker. I know shes infatuated with Sonic and the idea of being with him, as shown in multiple games (I don't think its been a thing in recent years but I still feel the need to mention it), but I like to believe as Amy matures she realizes that putting Sonic on such a pedestal wasn't a good thing to do for either of them. I also like to think that as Amy mellows out her friendship with Sonic becomes a lot more solid.
Also if I was on a computer I would definitely put Sonadow between I love them! and I ship them for comedic value, bc you know those two idiots would not handle having romantic feelings in any normal way
Shadamy is interesting to me- I really like it I think its cute (Gives me Grease vibes now that I think of it) but I cannot see it being a thing in actual Sonic canon (honestly this is with most ship excluding a few). I see it in a "canon but to the left" kind of way.
So the next ship is Bunny x Antoine (I think). So my only and I mean only exposure to this ship (and these two characters) is from the fan comic TMOM (The Murder of Me) by Gigi and if their characterizations in there are anything like they are in Archie than yes!
Please do not comment asking for me to read the Archie Comics, I do not want to touch that monstrosity with a 10ft pole. (It scares me./j)

Tangle x Whisper, now I have not read IDW and I want to, so I don't much about these two other then sure, I'm cool with it.
Not for me but I can see the appeal:
Shadouge, I see Rouge as more as the older sister/wine aunt to Shadow more than anything else
Sonally, never watched Satam or read Archie but I do know of Sally through pop culture osmosis. If we're talking about how 90s American (cartoon) Sonic was than sure I see it. But for current Sonic (even Adventure Sonic) not really but I do see them as friends if she could exist again.

Sonknux, just a really good bromance, with Sonic being a little shit and sometimes flirting with Knuckles.
Not on the list but Sonouge is similar where I dont see them in a relationship they just like to throw flirty banter at eachother and it just confuses anyone who knows how Sonic normally reacts to being flirted with (even funnier if Sonic is aroace)
Sonaze, um its there, to me they'd just be friends with just a heavy meaning behind holding hands
I have never watched Sonic X but I can see the appeal of Tails being in a relationship but I really strongly see him as being aroace flat out, with strong platonic love for his brother and friends.
Not for me and I CANT see the appeal:
Shadknux, I see we are shipping the lancers together (Shadow and Knuckles are both lancers to Sonic in the five man band trope while Knuckles is the big guy/lancer Shadow is just Sonic's lancer imo). This confuses me I don't hate it I just don't get it.
