jinchul is carrying small pins on him in case his hair gel eventually gives out and hair will start to become disheveled while he’s still working and they’re mostly invisible

and then jinwoo swaps them for really cute ones so next time jinchul uses his pins he ends up looking like a disheveled mess but now with flavor of cute hair pins (that jinwoo probably asked jinah to pick without any explanation) because he still needs to work

seeing people who have been brainwashed by the health and beauty industry gradually come to realizations like “actually maybe we shouldn’t be subjecting our skin to potentially toxic and damaging chemicals every single day” and “maybe stripping our bodies of their natural oils constantly is actually a bad thing” is very gratifying

#buying into the idea that we need to shampoo and condition every day and use abrasive soap on our bodies every day #and use 12 different facial cleansers with strong acids and bases in them as part of a ‘skincare routine’#and things that clog your pores #but looking back it should’ve been obvious that that is not the way to go #my hair is still suffering the consequences of daily washes #it took forever for my body to start regularly producing oil again after i dried it out with harsh body soaps and scrubbing and acids and #various otc skincare regimens that had very little stock in health #like #that shit is not good for you #yeah you need to shower regularly but what that means depends on the individual #for me. i only need to shower every other day. sometimes only every 3 days #im fairly sedentary and my body just doesn’t need that kind of washing esp considering i’m prone to dry skin and dermatitis #and it just sucks that this one-size-fits-all approach to health and particularly beauty remains so prevalent today

Spent a huge chunk of my life constantly having super expensive fancy specialized shampoo and conditioner and moisturizer and what the fuck else shoved down my throat by hairdressers and shit because I had thick curly hair that was often frizzy and constantly greasy and a dry scalp. and I got to a point where I just stopped using conditioner because it was fucking ruining my hair and I thought all conditioner was the problem and my hair was just weird

Turns out expensive conditioner is the problem. Currently using the cheapest shittiest shampoo and conditioner available at the walled mart (Suave) and my hair is ✨️thriving✨️

#cheap shampoo is not always worse #it comes down to at the end of the day what your hair likes. luckily im a garbage child #and also i dont actually have a dry scalp. not naturally anyway #turns out tea tree oil? nOT GREAT #my actual problem was just like. gunk buildup #which was remedied immediately by a recommendation by my current stylist which was to get a little scrubber for my hair #you use it to scrub the shampoo into your hair better and also it feels nice #anyway hi my hair is soft rn

still can't fucking believe I've had curly hair this whole time

#I mean obviously no I haven't but I COULD HAVE. this WHOLE TIME #the final piece of the puzzle was 'literally do not brush or comb it even a little bit'#like I have done more intentional 'curly girl' routines before #but most of the time I am literally just. not messing with it after a shower.#I'm raking a tiiiny bit of a general purpose body oil through it to control frizz and that is IT #shower days used to be my worst hair days because my hair would get so frizzy and shitty after being washed #and now they're my BEST CURL DAYS because I am not ACTIVELY FRIZZING and ENSHITTENING MY HAIR #I braid my hair to sleep so I mostly lose the big distinct ringlets the next day #but left to its own devices my hair just curls #how did it take me into my 30s to figure this out #when I have selfies and an entire self portrait of like 'wow being out in the rain made my hair SO curly??'#yeah babe! lean into that perhaps!!#about me
