He’s gone. My love, my life, my child, he’s left me. I suppose it’s true what they say: eventually, everyone leaves. I had thought he would be an exception to the rule.
It’s my fault... or Santiago’s. I haven’t quite decided which yet, it’s easier to blame Santiago - but really - I was the one who drove him away. I yelled at him, I was angry. I felt betrayed - like he had stabbed me in the heart through the back. When I found him and Santiago outside of his chambers - I lost it. I thought I was losing him.
And the result of my fear was the cause of his loss. We’ve searched - I even shut the theatre down - for months... and when the others had lost faith, claiming he was dead, I still searched. Santiago did as well, though Santiago - something is happening to him. He’s not the carefree immortal that he once was. He’s angry, bitter, outraged. I am as well, but - I think it was already a part of my sub-conscious.
We’ve looked everywhere, and some of the members of our family that went looking for him - they never returned either. Eleni, Eugenia, Felix, Laurent... all of them are gone now as well. Did they find him? Are they with him? Or did something happen to them all? Did something happen to Him?
No, he is alive. I must believe that. I would know if he were dead, wouldn’t I? Then again, perhaps I wouldn’t.
I hope he is safe.
I hope I will find him again. Apologize. I would give him anything just to have him in my arms again - to know that he is safe.
Mon daana - mon amour - mon cher.
Rian - come home...

It turned out staying away from Santino was a shitty idea. The freedom he reclaimed felt more like self-imposed exile than anything. He'd spent a few lousy days with the guy and barely a week later he was going fucking insane without the vampire. He’d gotten strangely used to guarding the useless sack of bones during the day and greeting his pasty face in the evening. He’d gotten used to the smooth voice in his ear and the too strong hands touching him with too damn much care. Being without it felt like a cold shower, the life that had felt so full before suddenly seeming empty to the wolf.
The constant nagging ache pissed Ahiga off enough that he stayed away longer just to be spiteful, though he logically knew he was probably the only one suffering for it.
On day six he had finally given in and gone after the vampire, stalking him to Rome before using the tracking spell he'd put on him to locate his residence rather than going hunting around town for the man. He stole into the house without breaking any locks or disturbing anything, letting the lights stay off as he settled down to wait.

A soft moan escaped David’s lips as Rian pressed against him. He reached down, wrapping his arm around Rian’s waist and pulling him over and up into his lap without breaking the kiss. He barely was aware of the movie in the background, so intent was he on the wolf he was currently kissing. He felt like a schoolboy, somehow. Making out with his crush on the couch in front of the fireplace.
He could feel the other’s magic, the voodoonsi in him registering the shift in the electric impulses of the room and it made his skin tingle as well. His other hand came back up into Rian’s hair, tilting his head as he deepened the kiss, pressing Rian’s body fully against his own. But god did that sensation feel amazing. The warmth, the passion. Though he himself had fed before texting Rian, and his own skin was warmer than usual, neither his nor Lestat’s body heat would ever replicate this feeling. He wanted more. He wanted to feel Rian’s fire.
His hand moved around his waist, pushing up the back of Rian’s shirt, caressing his spine and shoulder muscles with his fingertips, the shirt slipping up just a little the further upward David’s hand moved. Such warmth, such passion, and David wanted to devour it all.

Howl at the Moon
Santiago knew that showers did little by way of cleaning his kind, but he never got tired of running hot water over his body. The warmth was what mattered, it was why he'd loved baths when he had been younger, and finding hot springs when out in nature. He loved it. So when he heard a knock at the door, he was loath to step from the spray, but only a handful of people knew where he was. He stepped from the water and then wrapped a towel around his waist.
The water ran over his skin as he walked, looking through the peep hole, he then opened the door upon realizing it was Rian on the other side of the door. "Buena noches, mi pequeño lobo," he stated, his Spanish accent always much thicker when he spoke in his native tongue. He stepped back to allow the other male entry. "It is good to see you, Rian," he stated easily, closing the door after the wolf was inside and then turning to face him with a smile.

Primal Instincts
Nicolas sat in the sitting room in front of the fire, idlely plucking at his violin. He drew the bow lightly over the strings every now and then, eyes closed as he listened to the music of the fire. He tilted his head when a new melody entered the room, clashing with the harmonies of the flames. He opened his eyes and looked at the wolf who had entered into the space. "Bonsoir," he stated, watching the younger immortal.
He gestured to the chair across from him and tilted his head. "Won't you join me, Rian?" he asked simply. "We haven't really gotten to have our own little sit down, I was beginning to feel left out," Nicolas teased, smirking slightly at the blond male. "Seems like you've had little heart-to-hearts with everyone except for me." He drew the bow down over the violin a bit more and the song this time was different, a bit more wild and untamed. "Have you ever heard the music of the soul?" he asked absnetly of the wolf. It was something he asked nearly everyone. No one seemed to be able to hear it but himself.

Into the Wilderness || Rian&Daniel
Daniel looked over towards Rian as they walked. He still wasn’t sure how the older immortal had managed to convince Armand to let them go off for a few days completely unsupervised. Perhaps Armand merely trusted Rian more than he did Daniel. Daniel had no doubt that Armand would have put up more of a fuss if it had been him asking. No matter, they were here now, miles away from New Orleans on the Mississippi Trail.
He had a backpack on his back containing a light-tight tent, though he knew he wouldn’t be trusting his safety solely to a tent. There was also a sleeping bag with thermal layers that he could zip his entire body up into as well. He really didn’t like sleeping in the ground, which is what Armand had suggested. He looked forward and around, keen eyes picking up on trees, night creatures, and the stars through the canopy above.
“I haven’t been hiking on an actual trail in a long time,” he said, looking over at Rian with a small smile. “Thanks... for doing this with me, Ri,” he stated simply. He’d gotten closer to the hybrid since their move to the plantation. Building the tree forts had been a great first step in building a foundation for them to build on. “How long do we want to stay out? If we go all the way to the top of the trail, at this pace, it’ll take us three days to get there and back home again. Well... three nights...”
Though they were going at a snail’s pace by vampire standards they were still making very good time as far as a human would consider. This trail would normally take a human a week to traverse the entire thing. He, personally, was looking forward to getting to spend some time with Rian away from the house. With the new wolf Rian insisted on babysitting, the new vampire that was trying to integrate into their home, as well as the hustle and bustle of the rest of the coven, he hadn’t gotten much one-on-one time with Rian.

Hello world||Fox and Mael.
The world, as it turned out, was nothing like he had imagined. He had heard tales of course, and sometimes even watched the television in his uncle’s abandoned cabin. But nothing had prepared him for what it would feel like, sound like and smell like. The tall buildings and the constant onslaught of sensory input had him losing his sense of direction, and so far even the simplest things had him thrown off.
He could part himself into particles and materialize where he had last tracked his uncle to, but he could not figure out how to use his piece of plastic to get a cup of coffee. He had ended up feeling so stupid by the end of it he had just walked out without the coffee, his cheeks burning as he hitched his backpack higher and moved on.
Then a vampire had crossed his path and the familiarity of the supernatural had made him reach out, for some reason counting more on help from the immortal than from the humans. He’d even gone so far as to put himself right in front of the other male, looking up at him with a friendly smile “sir vampire? I was wondering if you know how I can make money come out of this plastic card?” he held it up to him, hearing the voice of his caretaker telling him vampires had killed his family and that he should never seek contact. But....this wasn’t a kindred, so it should be fine.

The New Coven
Lestat had rolled his eyes at both Rian and Armand at that point, too eager to get away to give thought to carrying either of them. Not that they would have agreed. Instead he left Armand’s little bunker quickly and took to the night sky. He was lucky enough to spot a mugging on the way, swooping in and taking his anger and frustration out on a convenient evildoer, leaving him at least well fed and flush with color as he touched down outside Armand’s home.
He moved quickly inside, checking the rooms to see if any one his own children were there. Nicolas and Louis were out, doing God knows what already. He only hoped they’d both be fine. He didnt have it in him to try and play hero again tonight.
David, though, he found playing with a small black kitten, and flopped gracelessly down beside the scholar with a huff before leaning on him. “....So Armand has another fledgling. He’s bringing him home.”

Age Old Rivals
Santino wasn't sure what he was expecting to find here, in the remenants of what had once been the Paris Coven. It wasn't a place he had been for centuries. Since before Armand had been turned. Before Andrei became Amadeo. Before Andrei was a twinkle in his father's eye... and they never changed. A little dustier perhaps, now that no one frequented these desolate places as often. Yet still... he could see the remenants of a once thriving coven. Things a normal mortal would not notice. Scuffs on the stone floors, burn marks left from ever-burning torches and candles.
A remenant of a past life. He paused in what had once been the grand chamber. Where gatherings were held. Scorch marks telling stories of pyres for the ancient ones who threw themselves upon the fires and burned. He was glad that he had left his sole fledgling back home in Rome. This was not a place that he needed to see, though he was far past the age of being traumatized by memories of ancient things. He still hated to bring up the past.
It was here in this grand chamber tha the heard the voice. A voice that sounded very much like it was speaking to itself. He frowned. Who on earth would be so deep in these catacombs? A vagabond, perhaps. Come here because of those cursed books from the coven of book nerds. He was surprised this place had not been converted into some sort of meeting place for that very reason. Filled with fledglings simply for the macbre of the stories that had been published. He made his way towards the voice.
After a few moments, he spotted the man. Long black hair and tinted skin acompanied the voice that, was indeed, speaking to itself. But this was no vampire. It was not human either, however. The scent was off. Almost... animal. "An odd place for a bit of self-reflection," he commented absently from behind the male.

Rian is not your child though?
Amber eyes narrow slowly. “Yes, he is. He is my first born fledgling. My beautiful darling... my Mate... my lover. My child. My Rian.”

He'd been sent by the elders on yet another negotiation after the annual gathering of camps. Even after he'd stepped away from his position as an alpha it still fell on him to negotiate, maybe even more so because he had no other obligations. A fact they tended to remind him of often and with a lot of disdain. He didn't mind the travel, he didn't mind the lands or even the Silverfangs, at least not more than he minded having to deal with any of the tribes outside his own. What pissed him off so much about negotiating about these artifacts was they almost always had belonged to the Uktena to begin with.
A lot of their holy artifacts had been lost and spread around the world when the war had raged between the pure tribes and European tribes, a good deal of them mysteriously ending up with the grand alpha over the years. Which meant Ahiga was basically trading favors and negotiating to retrieve what was rightfully theirs to begin with. He'd ended up trading his own services when nothing else had gone through with the arrogant bastard, getting tied down to retrieve items that undoubtedly shouldn't go to the grand alpha to being with.
As he'd seethed in the aftermath he'd watched the alpha's blond little hybrid weapon drag his feet out of the council building, looking as lost and empty as ever once the blond thought he was alone. Now...he could claim the idea had sprung from the need to make the little nuclear bomb happy if anyone asked. But really, it had been born from the burning need to take something away from the grand alpha.
The boy had shown such promise at one time, burning brighter than anything Ahiga had seen, forcing the revolution they had undoubtedly needed. Now he was bleak again, falling back into Tamlin's hands to be used as the man pleased. And it pissed Ahiga off to see that light fade and to see something that powerful fall back to the asshole on the throne.
So he'd moved into action, shifting pieces. Making that one simple move that would change everything for the hybrid. All it took was an online order and the strategic placement of a series of books in the local library, then he could just lean back and watch as the lights came back on in that little blond head.
By the time he had completed his contract and returned with yet more stolen items for the grand alpha, Rian was gone.

Rise From the Ashes
Santiago stood on the corner across from the Cafe du Monde. He was nervous. Of course he was nervous. Everyone blamed him for the happenings at the Theatre that fateful night of the Burning. It was why he'd continued to let everyone think that he was dead. But he'd found Rian. Or... he hoped he had, anyway, and that this was not some elaborate prank by Ahiga and the other wolves. Would Rian also blame him? Rian had lost as much that night as Santiago had.
What lies had he been told? He was living in a house with Armand and other members of his new little coven. Including the ones responsible for setting the theatre on fire. Louis. Lestat. He had tried spying on them but found himself unable to pierce the minds of every being inside, though there were quite a few within. He suspected some of the ancients. Marius, perhaps, since Armand was there. Rian, of course... he could not pierce Lestat's mind, but he could Louis's and had seen Lestat and a man he thought might be David through Louis's eyes before he'd had to back out lest he be sensed.
But now... as he watched the blond male stride confidantly across the street towards the Cafe du Monde, he felt even more nervous. Finally, he approached slowly. He watched as Rian stopped some ways away from the mortals, a wise thing to do... and scanned the crowd, turquoise eyes locking on him. He wore a long duster, with the collar flipped up to hide the lower part of his face, and wore a hate, tipped down to cover the rest. He stayed a good distance away, though he knew that the other male would be on high alert. He disguised his voice slowly and began to speak.
"Are you prepared for the truth, little wolf?" he asked softly, knowing that Rian would be able to hear him despite the distance and quiet tone to his voice. "From someone who was there?" He knew Rian didn't have a lot of patience, so he reached up, slowly pulling off the hat and pushing down his collar to reveal his face.
"I have been searching for you for a very long time, little wolf. I hope this night does not end in my death at your hands... but if it does... then I suppose I shall die content that I finally found you."

Welcome Home Indeed
Daniel had gotten on the first available flight back to the US when he'd gotten texts from both Marius and Lestat taunting him about this new surprise that Armand had for him. It apparently had to be rather large. He packed up the two gifts he'd gotten for Armand and Marius for Christmas then jumped on the plane. The flight was uneventful, and he arrived in NOLA the next night.
He called for an uber and had them drive him to the house and he got out, extending his senses within. There seemed to be quite a lot of people, he'd expected more with the knowledge that Lestat and his brood were also staying there, but this seemed rather excessive. By his count, the house should only contain five immortals... yet he was getting a reading from more than that. And one... human?
Using his key, he opened the front door and strolled in. He left his bag in the entryway by the door and walked into the drawing room. There, he saw another, as yet unidentified, immortal. He had blonde hair and rather interesting eyes. And he had a definite aura of power around him. He arched an eyebrow. He was older than Daniel, that was clear, though he was never a very good judge on vampire ages.
"Hey," he stated, moving forward towards the other male. "Is Armand or Marius about?" he asked easily. "Or Lestat or Louis, I suppose. He would work too," he stated, shaking his head slightly. He ran a hand through his hair, mussing it slightly. "You new around here? I don't seem to recall you? I haven't been here in years, though..." he admitted.

Behind the mirror||Andras
The shadow-walking had always been the trademark of his family. His uncle was the best at it, weaving in and out of the planes, manipulating light and dark and the particles of his own body to appear and disappear as he pleased.  Fox knew how to do it too, but he had never liked the silent dread of suddenly becoming one with the dark, of splitting into so many pieces he was afraid he'd never find himself again while breezing through the world beyond the veil and the mirrors.
He preferred portals instead, where the feeling of being submerged only lasted for the second where he stepped through the mirror. He was still a whole body when traveling like that even if the laws of the shadow world were nothing like the laws of his own world. He had always had a foot in the places of horror, it was in his blood and firmly imprinted in his mind. It was the price for power for him like it was for his uncle, and had once been for his parents before they were eaten by the things they studied.
The screams, the everlasting dusk, the things that moved around him while he walked, were all familiar to him. He would always pick light over dark if he had a choice, but the places that scared others did not bother Fox. They just were, and he always just sort of danced through, untouched even when straying from the paths. Which was unheard of and which he never mentioned to anyone else. He often did the things every wolf knew would lead to certain death, and for the most part he walked away unharmed.
So he had strayed from the path again when he'd heard someone sigh out in the mist that was wafting through the area, his curiosity getting the better of him, leading his steps towards the sound, an unusually clear shape appearing when he drew closer "Wow. They're always in spirit form. You're so solid" he paused "a bit on the skinny side, but not a ghost."
