#althu expression
Text
Nonhuman expressions of affection are great. Purring. Exposing weak points as a show of trust. Head bonks. Preening and chewing. Nuzzling. Biting. Intertwining tails. Feeding each other. Little chuffs, chatters, beeps and squeaks. Fluffing up of feathers, fur or other things. Dancing to impress. Cleaning their fur, scales, feathers or skin. Sharing body heat. Ears pointing toward those you care about to show your full attention is on them. Slow blinking.

Honestly we're looking into getting more species-affirming clothing and accessories. Not just obvious gear either. Tails and ears can be good, but... It's so nice to be able to wear colours that remind you of your fur/feathers/scales/skin or jewellery with something reminiscent of who you really are on it.
We ended up getting some paw socks that have cartoon cat paws on them and honestly? The markings themselves feel so much more creature than our human feet, even though we're not all cats or even things with paws.
Wearing fingerless gloves makes us feel like we have different markings on our hands which is species affirming for a lot of people in here.
Even just wearing a simple red unzipped jacket with a black shirt underneath makes Merlin feel so much more like he has his cardinal feathers.
We really underestimated the joy that species affirming clothing can give, even if it's not quite you or not quite accurate. Even if it's just regular clothes hiding human features. Even if it's regular clothes in the right colours. Anything closer to our actual individual bodies feels so much better.

The creature-esque feelings that come from cracking open walnuts with simple tools... Like yes give me that spoon I'm about to go feral. It might not be my beak but I sure as hell don't need a nutcracker.

Intro
Tumblr media
Hey, we’re the Interstellar System!
We’re a fictive-heavy quoigenic DID system of 400+ members, which basically means we’re a lot of people in a body, most of which identify as fictional characters. The body is an adult and we collectively use they/them, it/its or he/him pronouns, though each member has individual pronoun sets. We go by Hunter or Interstellar collectively. We're also terrorpunk.
Our system, while we do have DID, includes mostly walk-ins and soulbonds, and we consider ourselves a gateway system. We also have a few tulpas and some other things like somntives. We’re collectively alterhuman and some of us have extra alterhuman identities on top of their headspace body forms, which are usually nonhuman. These are usually kintypes or hearttypes, but we have a few otherlinkers and some other less known identities as well!
We have a few collective identities too!
Hunter (The Owl House) [Kintype]
Birds [Hearttype]
Plants [Hearttype]
Space [Hearthome]
The Boiling Isles (The Owl House) [Hearthome]

We’ve known of our system since around 2017-ish, though we’ve been plural without knowing for much longer. You can find our system site linked here (though we are migrating to neocities from weebly), if you’d like to learn more about us. Most of our longer posts are crossposted to our Neocities for archiving purposes! Definitely feel free to send in questions about us or anything else too, if you’d like.
We made the alterhuman carrd and would appreciate if you have any ideas for what to change!

We don't have a DNI and may or may not notice yours. Generally we do look for them so we don't interact with people who would cause issues for us but if it requires too much searching and/or reading we won't go digging just to reblog or like something. We believe in the power of the block button and won't take offense if it's used against us for any reason.
For clarity, we're of the opinion that it's unfair to expect everyone else to go digging through hard to read blog themes and text walls no matter how inaccessible just to be allowed to reblog something when the block button is also right there. Bigots and such won't be stopped by a DNI if they're coming at you with the intention of causing harm so we personally just don't see a point in having one for ourselves and prefer to block whenever we want.
