Progressive Possession (Leah Williamson x Reader)
Tumblr media
Leah was one of the most level headed and mild mannered people you had ever met in your life. Yes, she got frustrated and angry, but she always dealt with it in the most reasonable way possible. Jealousy, however, that was a different story. Leah wasn’t easily made jealous, but it took your Arsenal teammates less than two weeks of planning behind your backs to figure out what would and wouldn’t make Leah jealous.
You had to commend them for their patience. They may have figured out how to make Leah jealous early on, but they waited almost a full season to act on any of it. You weren’t sure if they were waiting for something specific or not, but Emma Mitchell was the first to make a move before her trade over to the Spurs.
“Hey cutie,” Emma greeted you with a smile. You smiled and waved at her. “Whatcha doing?”
“Tying my shoes,” you said and Emma nodded. “What are you doing?”
“I was wondering if you wanted to get a coffee with me later. Leah’s going to check out equipment and I know that you don’t like being left all alone in your apartment,” Emma said. Leah’s ears perked up and she quickly turned her head over to see Emma talking to you. Emma was leaning over you with her hand resting on the wall over your head. You were looking up at her and there was a light blush on your cheeks.
“That sounds great, I’ll see you after I shower back at my place,” you said and Emma nodded.
“I’ll pick you up in about 45 then,” Emma said and you agreed with that. Leah was a little moody on the drive home, so you didn’t talk to her. She dropped you off and then just left.
The next time that they made a move to make Leah mad, they had sent Beth up to do it. Leah had already been watching you. Tensions in the apartment were a bit high since the whole coffee thing with Emma had went down. Leah kept an extra watchful eye on you during practice. She had been too distracted by Emma to realize that Beth was going to be the next person sent after you.
“Let me get that for you,” Beth said, grabbing your bag for you. You thanked her and she just smiled. A part of you was a little confused, normally Beth carried Danielle’s things around for her. All you thought on it really was that they must be having another rough patch. “You seem a little stressed.”
“A bit,” you said and Beth put her hand on your back. She walked with her arm around you towards the locker room. You were playing a game against Manchester United and so once you saw Jackie it made more sense why Danielle wasn’t by Beth’s side and vice versa.
“What are you doing after this?” Beth asked and you shrugged. “Well, win or lose, Casey Stoney invited a bunch of the girls out to a club after the game. She said that there’s enough respect between the two teams that we should be able to enjoy a night out. Also, I hear Alex Scott is stopping by.”
“No way!” you exclaimed and Beth nodded. “Of course I’ll be there.”
Leah glared daggers at Beth as she walked past the two of you. Leah doted on you before you went out, almost like a warning to the other girls not to come near you. It wasn’t aggressive really, so it wasn’t picked up that well. All that meant to the other girls was that they needed to up their game. You had noticed Leah becoming slightly more possessive since that morning. Leah gave you her extra hair tie to wear on your wrist and had taken your wristband to wear out onto the field.
“It’ll be cute,” Leah said, giving you a quick kiss. She wasn’t normally one for PDA, but you appreciated it. Leah was a little off her entire game and outright refused to pass Beth the ball. You thought it was a bit ridiculous from the goal, but you didn’t mention it. Danielle scored a goal and then ran all the way back to you for a celebration.
“Dancing partner?” Danielle asked and you nodded. “Great!”
That was a mistake on your part. Leah was against you going out with the team, especially when she found out that Beth had invited you out. Still, you went and dragged Leah along with you. She had tried to dance with you as much as possible, but eventually was sort of sick of dancing. You took a break to get a drink and then Danielle dragged you out and onto the dance floor.
She didn’t necessarily dance with you, but rather on you. Leah immediately noticed this and clenched her fists at the sight of it in anger. Danielle kept dancing on you and after a couple minutes, Leah went over and wedged her way in. Danielle just laughed and subtly signaled the secret weapon over. It was over whenever Alex Scott joined the mix. Alex slipped in behind Leah, effectively blocking your girlfriend out. Alex turned around and slipped her arms around your neck. You looked up to see what was happening and immediately started blushing at the close proximity to your idol.
“Hey, no!” Leah yelled. She moved Alex back and pulled you away from both of them. She made a show of kissing you in front of everybody. She pulled away and stormed off. You followed after her and your Arsenal teammates followed after you.
“Leah, please stop!” Leah stopped at your plea and turned to face you.
“Am I not enough for you?” Leah asked, tears in her eyes. You shook your head and pulled her towards you. “Why do you keep running off with everyone else then?”
“I’m not. Emma asked me to go to coffee with her, so I did. Beth invited me out, I wouldn’t have come if you didn’t with me honestly. I promised Danielle a dance after her goal,” you said and Leah was waiting for an explanation for Alex. You honestly didn’t have one, you didn’t know what that was about. “I’m sorry if I made you feel bad at all. Come on, let’s go back to the hotel. I dragged you out here, I think it’s fair that we leave when you want to.”
“Before you guys go, we’re sorry. We were just trying to see how jealous we could make Leah,” Beth said and Leah looked like she was about to kill them. You decided to defuse the situation before it could escalate anymore and just pushed Leah down the sidewalk.
“I’m gonna kill them,” Leah muttered as she leaned against your side. She was being very touchy, which was your favorite bit of her being possessive. She had been through the watching you, anger, and sadness to get to the clingy part you rarely got to experience. “I’m sorry for causing a scene.”
“It’s fine, that’s not a scene. Fifteen more seconds of Alex dancing on me and there would have been a scene,” you said and Leah had to admit you were right.
“We’d be banned from Manchester,” Leah laughed.
