   What bravery, going right up to some of this world’s most famous sailors and explorers and simply asking, maybe even demanding, that they take him with them. Take him someplace far away, perhaps to an unknown land where he might become thoroughly lost. Not out of a sense of adventure, or because Vali so desperately wanted to get on a ship (in fact, he was dreading it). He wore a hood to cover up his fae features, hiding the rest away under a carefully crafted glamour. This man before Valeriu certainly looked like the captain he was looking for, the one he occasionally heard whispered within taverns and along the docks.

     This instead was the mage’s last ditch attempt to get as far as possible from those who would subjugate him. While he might be well dressed and well maintained, no amount of finery or perfumes or illusions could hide his fidgeting body -- the way he anxiously pulled on his rings, occasionally looking over his shoulder, ears poised for the sound of baying barghests hot on his path. Through Veil and sea, the Wild Hunt would follow him, but he could at least get a head start. Valeriu reached into the depths of his inner robes and produced a coinpurse, absolutely full to bursting. “I will pay, and if money if not satisfactory, I can pay in other ways too.”
