As much i'm still somewhat sour about Yume Nikki: Dream Diary in general, as a whole game, the one thing i'll never forget is that the art director (Juan Fandiño Martín) had a completely different plan for the game but Kadowaka chose to change it

like, i cant believe we got a bland shadow monster as the final boss when we've could've had the FACE event

#the game was still fated to be a dissapointment given the impossible expectations that yume nikki set up for anything related to it #but damn #we could've had something cool #but no we got uboa jpeg jumpscare TT0TT #no way concept art will ever perfectly translate to game stuff #but the enviroment stuff the artist did is genuinely more in line with yume nikki than YNDD is in its entirity #also begging people to play the games in HauntedPS1 Demo Disc #散歩 - Walk specifically mentioned in the tweet is so cool
