Dogs are really intelligent. This little old man started to adapt to hobbling on threes two days after surgery. He started wheezing at night; it was so loud and startling I sent him back to the emergency hospital last night. It turned out that his wheezing was a form of communication - that he needed to pee because he let out a big pool in the oxygen chamber (I thought he was breathless) and he was mighty fine after that. Slept through the night. So, now I know when he wheezes, he needs to relieve himself. Smart boy!
