navigating wedding culture across two separate cultures......
#going to a full wedding week this month and im brown so wearing white to a wedding is like#not bad cause the brides not wearing white but not good cause its technically a funeral color#and tbh no one at where im going will care abt the second point but i still feel i shouldnt wear cream or ivory cause we all#(including the bride)#grew up diaspora and with syttd shoved down our faces. so it still feels like a faux pas#but then again its a full wedding WEEK tf am i supposed to wear to their resort welcome party. what the fuck is resort wear#their dress code just says resort wear its so vague#cause its like almost all in shades of white#all the linens and light cottons i own are off white. i really dont want to buy smth new but also everything online is white too#the funniest bit it theyre doing a holi thing too on the haldi day so everyone will be in white for at least five hours#personal
