Fratt, winterhawk, symbrock, stony, and amerikate each get a pet. What type of pet are they getting? Pretending their currently owned animals (sorry, Max and Lucky) don't exist.

Just call out most of my ships why don’t you. 😂 I am NOT pretending Max and Lucky don’t exist, how could you, I’ll work around them. Hopefully you like Secret Avengers ‘verse cause that’s where most of my headcanons originate.

Fratt: With Max being a gamedog, other dogs are likely out of the question. Matt’s not really a huge dog guy to begin with, but I can see him being okay with a cat - something fairly self sufficient he can pet but not really be obligated to do much with aside from feed it and give it affection. Frank would agree to just about anything Matt wants and he would get a kick out of a little kitten riding around on his shoulder.

Winterhawk: They have Lucky and Alpine and a third pet would really be pushing it, but Clint sees those cute little fancy jumping spiders on YouTube one day and immediately contacts a breeder and gets two girls and two enclosures. Bucky jokingly names them Natalia and Yelena and the names stick. The real Nat’s a little offended they couldn’t have gotten something a bit cooler like a cobalt blue tarantula, but even she has to admit the little things are adorable.

Symbrock: Eddie’s got a kid and a younger brother he just got custody of so any pets would have to be low maintenance. The symbiote argues for a saltwater aquarium for a while but Eddie doesn’t have that kind of money and he sure as shit ain’t doing water changes so they settle on a somewhat grumpy California Kingsnake from a local reptile rescue. The symbiote decides its name is Crowley because it’s watched way too much Good Omens and laughs every time Eddie gets bitten.

Stony: The Dog Argument lasts for weeks. Tony absolutely does not want a dog anywhere near the tower and keeps telling Steve to borrow Lucky, who is basically the Avengers’ shared dog as it is. Steve never got to have a dog growing up because they couldn’t afford it and his allergies were too bad and he wants a pet, dammit. They’re in a pet store getting birthday treats for Lucky when Tony manages to get into an argument with an African Grey parrot and Steve has An Idea. He ends up deciding on a black capped conure and brings it home as soon as it’s ready to go and Tony falls in love with being a Bird Dad. The bird’s happy to hang out with Steve, but it is fascinated with Tony, who talks nonstop to the little thing and creates shiny toys for it to play with.

AmeriKate: They have half custody of Lucky, but they’d really like something with a little less energy they can call their own. America ends up seeing a listing for a retired bomb dog, an eight year old German Shepherd, and it’s love at first sight. Lucky adores his new half sister (the feeling is not always mutual and she’s not afraid to show it), and likes to offer her all his tennis balls, which she promptly hoards. Her favourite place to sit is on Kate’s lap, which she bitches about constantly, but secretly adores it.
