Completed commission for Pillowfort fundraising! 9" applique block of the logo from Omochabako no Kuni no Alice / Alice in the Country of Toybox.
Machine stitched, except for the stems and small leaves which were hand-embroidered.
This was very cool to work on and very fun to make it all come together! :)

Light Introduction/Thoughts
I'm not very far into Spade Black World. Like, at all. But we got through Blood's short, light introduction. Kind of like an, "On the last episode of HnKnA" sort of thing.
I did love Alice saying, "He also has strange taste in clothes." XD I agree with you Alice, but he's not the only one.
I'm liking the fact, thus far, we're not getting a long explanation on the country. However, the game does start by picking either Hatter Mansion or White Territory, so I'm assuming we switch territories at some point. Reminiscent of Toybox/Omachobako.
Even though I haven't even finished one route in White World, I wonder how much has happened in Spade White World that coincides with Black World. It seems at least the prologue, and some time past that that doesn't correlate with any particular route.

White (Blood impression): "I mustn't put myself through such pains. At the very least, I will just provide you with the ingredients instead."  is what he said.

So, I wanted to put my characters on board for the Spades au so I could dote on them. Currently, I don’t have a tablet or I’d draw them for you guys. First up is my handsome asshole:
Name: Jack Carnage
Age: 21-24
Height: 174 cm
Weight: 95kg
Affiliation: Queen of Spades and Melanie
Likes: Hunting, Meat, Candy(when he can get it), Kids, Melanie, and his Queen.
Dislikes: Other roleholders, vegetables, and basically anything that doesn’t involve violence.
Jack is a wolverine, meaning he is extremely territorial and only bonds with a select amount of people. Anyone not in this bond is merely a toy that he can chew on until he’s bored and kills them. Extremely antisocial, Jack does not like company and is very quick to attack others. He can’t stand when other role-holder’s are on his land without his having known. That being said, he’s not very fond of outsiders and Alice gets on his nerves to the point that people believe she’s lucky to still be alive.(She is.) The only reason he hasn’t killed her is because the Queen believes that she is a guest and has deemed her a familiar. Jack is less-than-thrilled, but he deals with it anyway. His only other companion is Melanie Belsworth, though some people wonder how it’s possible.
Tumblr media
Name: Melanie Belsworth
Age: 19-22
Height: 140 cm
Weight: 90kg
Affiliation: The Queen of Spades, and Jack
Likes: Tranquility, Snow, animals, kids, Jack, and vegetables.
Dislikes: Meat, Violence, and Guns.
Melanie is a Dall Sheep, and as such is extremely timid and caring for her young. She often finds herself thrown into trouble by Jack, since most of her free time is spent with him. She has not had a free day without violence since she ran into him and was almost killed. If not for the Queen, Melanie would not be alive. However, Melanie is not as grateful as some would think. Yes, she works for her, but Melanie believes many of the Queen’s choices have been less than suitable for the situation. She’s too scared to tell her that, though. Unlike Jack, Melanie likes other people and Alice is no different. The two of them often find themselves chatting over mindless things, irritating Jack to no end.

Alice in the country of Spades!
Ok, friends, I’m really wanting to get a fully functioning au started with the HNKNA fandom. I’ve seen like, one other with an interest in this idea and I’d really like to see what other people do for it. If so, hit me up and we can try to get something started. I love this fandom so much and I’m just so surprised that we haven’t taken off with it.

Dum: What should we do, brother? Bis sis doesn't understand at all.
Dee: It's as you say, brother. Our feelings aren't reaching big sis at all.
Dum: It must be that the way we communicated was bad! I guess it's better to tell her more assertively.
Dee: That's right, brother! That's gotta be it, I thought so too! It looks like it's useless unless we get much more extreme!

I like these two lines from the Omochabako no Kuni no Alice OP (Just got to see the lyrics over at the Burlesque site). They start out similar because the first one is from the first verse and the second one is from the second verse.
***
Like a lost game of Jenga The blocks collapse With a single lie Everyone is in a dream
***
Like a lost game of Jenga The blocks collapse If the lie is revealed Everything falls apart
***
I wasn’t sure how to translate the first line because “lost” actually means something more like “damaged” or “lacking” but that sounds really weird in English. Since the verse ultimately meant that the game was lost, I just used that word instead.

I’m just copying and pasting some information I posted on FF that talks a little bit about the school events from Alice in the Country of Toybox and how it played out with the Jokers. Although I stopped before going into the details of Black and White’s individual endings.
That magic school has the best events. Storm is an optional test of skill for the guys, and it's traditional for all the older students to not tell the freshmen girls about the event. The guys have to sneak into the girls dorm at night without being caught by the servants, and then they can spend time with one of the girls. To prove that they actually succeeded they have to bring back an item from the girl they visited. It can be anything. The point is to be accepted by the seniors and to develop stronger bonds between classmates (And to make-out). However a girl can refuse to allow the boy in her room if she doesn't want to be a part of the event or for any other reason. There's also a follow up optional event called Breeze a week later, where the girls can sneak into the guys dorm at night and take back what the guy took from them during Storm. If they don't participate they won't get the item back. Within that week in between they can ask the guy who visited them where his room is and various helpful info.
Even though the events are for the students, Alice had plenty of routes with the faculty characters joining in XD. That includes the Jokers. They play so dirty too. Instead of going to her room White lured her to them with a phantom of Lorina. Alice saw it and tried to call after her and even run after her, but she ran into White and lost sight of the phantom. White and Black are both there acting totally innocent, claiming they hadn't seen anyone come down the hall other than Alice. Black teases Alice a little until she realizes that Storm is almost over and she didn't get to experience it. The Jokers don't want to miss the event either so they tell Alice that she needs to take responsibility for bumping into them and making them miss out. Black then grabs her arms from behind while White frisks her for anything she might be carrying (I should mention that she is in her nightgown right after having showered.). At first she feels like she's getting the criminal treatment but that thought flies out the window when she tells them she doesn't have anything, and Black asks if she's implying that they can take her clothes. When Black sees her blushing he can't help but tease, so he makes a suggestive sound near her ear, and she briefly feels something wet (so either he licked her ear or kissed it). Alice stutters to get the word "kiss" out but White suddenly pops back up, having found the spoils of war. He has her ribbon and her brush. Black quickly claims the ribbon, so White reluctantly takes the brush. Then they both leave before the disciplinary committee chairman shows up (Julius), leaving Alice in her stupor XD.
The Jokers' individual endings cover what Alice does for Breeze. It was a pain in the butt for her to get any info though. No one knew where Joker lived and he was hard as heck to find when she was actually looking for him to ask. Of course Black and White showed up just as she quit looking. It turns out she needed a special key from them to get in their room in the first place (The secret room). Since the Breeze part is made up of two endings, Black or White, I'll stop here. Too many words for one post already (I can't help it. It's fun to talk about Joker.).

Alice: ...What’s with this music box? Where does it lead to?
Gray: Don’t know...”Where” indeed. Maybe the Country of Toy Box...?
Here’s the screenshot from DnKnA Mirror World where Gray brings up the Country of Toy Box. I always mention it but I never posted this until now.

Can you explain a little of Country of Toy Box? I thought it was a spin off alternate universe without connection to history made just for fan service ...
Haha, we all thought that. QuinRose even advertised it that way. But once you start playing the game you see that they tied in a bunch of elements from the original universe. Then in the main series where the events are undeniably canon the world of toy box is mentioned again as a real place.
At the beginning of the magical school story-line Alice’s narration refers to the world as a stage setting. However once she starts moving into the current events she seems to think it’s all real. Then in Black Joker’s end he mentions being on the stage, and Alice can’t remember anything about such a place. Yet in White Joker’s end he says they are in the world of toy box.
My guess is that the world of toy box is another reference for the stage and that Alice had been captured since the beginning of the magic school setting. Perhaps this is even in conjunction with White and Black’s endings from the Wonderland route side. That’s the only explanation I can come up with to account for all the crossover elements.
