hello!
i know it's been some time since the final renaissance update, but it impacted me a lot and i needed to collect my thoughts,, so, sorry if this is a very late contribution to the debate. also obligatory warning that i am not a native speaker so my explanations might be a little wonky at times hahshd
to say it plainly: i sobbed, i laughed, i trembled and i melted with this fic. it had the perfect dose of everything; of pain, doubts, things being broken and then fixed with enough love and understanding that it reeked through the screen into my feelings as well. and you got my heart racing with every update!! my week revolved around your scheduled updates, however crazy that sounds.
like you said, it was cathartic. and painful. god, my heart ached so much every single time charles doubted himself and seb's view on him, and it ached when he longed for something as human as love with such resentment towards himself. but in the end, your brilliant writing soothed me like - pardon my perhaps nonsensical comparisons - those rays of sunlight in winter, when you've been freezing outside and they hit the skin of your hands and for a moment you think, wow, there is something more to this than just suffering. your writing style evoked such vivid emotions in me i thought i might be one with charles, lol. i love it, love it, love it.
you helped me realise a lot about myself in the process of reading too - and again, i am sorry for this little oversharing, but you also helped me realise that just like charles found out in the end, getting help might be worth it, and i will be getting it. it probably seems insincere,, but yeah. i am being genuine. your take on daddy issues hurt in a way where you realise that, damn, this is too realistic and hits too close to home, unlike those glorified scenarios on certain social media. bravo.
while i'm here, i would also like to mention that i read your other works, rouge et blanc and act of god. the latter in particular made it hard to breathe at times - not in the anxiety way, but in the in-awe-thanks-to-the-genius-storytelling way. you have this skill of uniting the reader and the main character to the point where they think alike, and it was only in the end when i noticed the escalation of the obsessive elements, that's how immersed i was in seb's unreliable narration. bravo again. (also, the religious imagery? chef's fucking kiss good LORD)
i don't want to go into detail over specific scenes in renaissance because this would be even longer than it is, so i'm just gonna wrap it up by saying: please, if you can, keep creating!! i don't mean it as putting pressure on you, the thing i want to say is that your art is absolutely brilliant and loved, if you ever doubt it. thank you for creating this fic and i am soo looking forward to anything you create in the future!!

ahhh i love love LOVE that comparison to the sunlight during winter. might be one of my favourite compliments ever! it’s always sooooo pleasing for a writer to know that the reader is experiencing things almost as if they were the character themselves. thank you!
getting help is absolutely nothing to be shameful of, and i’m so proud of you going to get it. i wish you the best ❤️ (thank you again! i didn’t want the father complex to be dramatised bc in reality, it’s a lot different than what’s shown on tv).

ah, my favourite series is out!!!
it's early afternoon morning where i am, and i woke up a bit later, and it's super sunny, so i'm sat outside in the garden, with my cats nearby, a laptop perched on my lap, as i'm looking at your blog page after having just read the latest chapter of 'the ethics of relationships'.
i really, really enjoyed this chapter. i really did. it was the first thing i read today, and even though it was a pretty heartbreaking chapter, it actually set me in a good mood because it was such a well-written chapter.
i just wanted to take a moment to appreciate how you were able to write such a fantastic long series that just keeps on being interesting. i love it and i find it very fun to read it. i am constantly engrossed. i never lost interest – not even once. i like all of the characters, and i find this story's progression to be believable.
i think it takes a lot of talent to create a series that just keeps on being interesting and fun to read.
as for this chapter, i really did like how sad it was. i liked that the break-up was heartbreaking, and i liked how suguru lingered behind consumed by his thoughts, and i liked that he cried! he actually cried, and he cried in public! he cried because he couldn't hide his feelings – someone who maintains the facade of calmness to such a great extent. he couldn't hide it because he felt like his heart was ripped from his chest. and i thought that it was heartbreaking how it was a small tear that escaped his eye – one which he couldn't control, like a sliver that just foreshadows the whole breakage of a dam.
and the dream?? with the engagement party? that was extremely sad precisely because it was happy. suguru coming in with a bouquet and a big smile, and kissing each knuckle? how sweet is that, but also how heartbreaking, and how easily she wanted to melt into his embrace, and embrace her dream as reality...
i liked this chapter, and in this chapter, i grew to like yuta a little bit more. i liked that he emphasised being friends first before even endeavouring on a romantic relationship. i like that he didn't jump in when she was vulnerable. and i like the moral deliberation that he had and that he acknowledged that a part of him was selfish and 'corrupt'. i liked that because that, too, made yuta seem a little bit more human.
the ending was superb. that was such a good note to finish on. it's fantastic, and i also think it fantastically echoes the ways in which you finished your previous chapters, too. (ch. 1 -> ch. 2, for instance).
i really, really look forward to chapter six.
I can literally imagine you reading this outside and I really love the imagery you had 😭 sounds so ideal and it means so much you chose to read my fic like that 💕🥹

I’m so glad you continue to find each part engaging and fun to read because it’s always very fun to write (even when I’m pulling hair out hahah). I always worry about whether every scene was necessary and interesting enough so I’m so relieved you think it was 🥹.
I really had to show suguru’s heartbreak to remember that even though he made that bad decision, he truly did it for the right reasons. His mistake really was making a one sided decision and it was very needed to show that he was in pain too.
I have to contribute that knuckle kissing scene to that one anon who had mentioned that suguru would do that to show his love and I loved that idea so much so I had to use it 🥹🫶😭
ahhh I’m so glad — another point of this chapter was to explore yuta and his relationship with reader and how they end up being together after that cruel cut away I had done haha. It’s ridiculous I thought all of these parts would fit in one part 🫣🙃
I’m pleased with the ending because I wasn’t sure — obviously this was supposed to be the last part but as I got to this scene — I realized I needed to rebuild a relationship after suguru was gone and it was going to take more time. And I never want to rush things for the sake of a number of parts. So I made that scene the ending and it was definitely the right choice 🥹
I can’t wait to write it and I hope part 6 lives up to your expectations 🥹😭💕🫶 thank you for this lovely ask — I appreciate you more than words can convey 😭🫶

oh boy... so YES stuff that probably won’t be included in uysiol is a lot of the headcanons i have about yueki that i wish i could add but it’s not about them (who am i kidding it’s always about them tf) like how they both blew up on different sides of tiktok (yue on the baking/craft wlw side and suki on like the wlw thirst trap side) and no one knew they were together bc their content is so different but one day one of them is like in the background and everyone is like wait ... is that??? and from then on they do those super cheesy like “my gf tries x” things like suki makes pastries and yue learns dances and they’re just SO in love and sweet and everyone’s like wtf they’re the blueprint... the standard.... and it’s just :’) i’m rambling but yes i have so many thoughts about them like we got a taste of their tiktok-ness in chapter 4 but i have a whole story for it oop-
33. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?
hmm... this is interesting because my process is super scattered ? like a lot of the more prose-y stuff hits me when i’m not even thinking about it and i have to frantically write it down on my phone so i don’t forget which is always really chaotic lmao the same with some pieces of dialogue
also just writing in general i struggle with like i go back and forth a lot on what i write and my plot and i have a lot of good days where i can get a lot of words out and feel really happy with my results and other days where i just read everything and hate it and feel like i’ll never be able to write again it’s like... strange how my brain balances those highs and lows sklhdakl

So this is from chapter 4 of until you say it out loud and idk when i wrote it i just really really loved how it came out and the imagery and emotions it sort of evokes? anyway-
“From this close, Sokka can see entire lifetimes playing out in the depths of his irises—the golden brown flecked with hints of amber, like stepping stones to the future they could’ve had, once.
He realizes, though he’s been aware of it since the moment he sat down, that this is exactly what he’d been afraid would happen. The brief, chance meeting that landed him in a small tea shop across from a boy who drank his tea black and loved acting because he couldn’t stand playing the part of himself evidence to the lack of choice he’d had.

Written review: This fic really hit my emotions. I haven't been around for a while because of this summer course I'm taking and life + finals just hit me, so once I got back on my feet, I read this fic to relax. But the literal agony that panic attacks cause, and the pain the MC felt when she thought she would have to give up on hoping JK wanted to remember what happened the night before...that resonated so much with what I'd been feeling over the weeks I was gone. This fic was a beautiful moment of catharsis for me, so thank you for that. Personal stuff aside, I am absolutely floored by the writing as always. Miss Viola, you're one of the best out there! I loved the way you wrote the characters' inner thoughts and the way you used physical action to show emotion. I think my favorite moment in this fic was when JK grabs MC's t-shirt and tells her those random little details he notices about her. It created this little warm bubble moment between them that was just so charming to read. -colors anon (curse the freakin word limit for asks *shakes fist*)

I’m afraid not my love! I have already laid out my lore of a Vampire’s reflection in Chapter Two when I said that Vampires DO have a reflection (along with not being destroyed in sunlight.) The reason why Taehyung would have moved out of view is because he would have wanted her to see only herself without seeing him in her field of vision ^^

There’s no need to feel bad! You can read it whenever you wish :) I know some people like that who don’t watch TV series until the series has finished airing so that they can watch it all in one go.
