Hello its me again! Following up on that last spiel about o 66. Gods some people have the worst takes, i swear. Its very clear that some people take balance in the most literal sense. When its more like that the sith specifically are one of the biggest factors of messing up stuff in the galaxy. Like you said balance isnt about equality in light in dark. The sith actively want to abuse and use the force for their own gain. I could probably rant for hours (pt 1)
(Pt 2) on how that while the dark side is very much real and does play a part in the force itself most sith actively just use it for their own gain. Thats part of what i like about the new canon in that its trying to show that part of balance. Can someone be equally light and dark? Absolutely we see that with bendu and probably a few others. Can someone who mainly uses dark side still have some good? Sometimes. We see it with nightsister merrin and to some extent ventress in her novel.
(Pt3) sorry for spamming btw its just i feel like people get so wrapped up in it and like have worst takes. I swear people play kotor2 once and misunderstand kreia and be like woopsie time to say order 66 was good actually
Oh I definitely blame KOTOR II/Kreia for a good portion of the “Order 66 brought balance” nonsense, since it came out a few months before Episode III and would’ve been fresh on the fandom’s minds. It’s a good game and I like it a lot but man has it led to some bad takes.
The thing is at least Kreia’s position, even though she’s wrong, has more consistency to it - she’s a hardcore miso/maltheist, she views the Force as a detriment to the Galaxy, so when she claims that balance led to so many deaths, she’s not claiming that to be a good thing. And yeah, if you legitimately hold the belief that genocide is encouraged by the will of the Force...then the only tenable position resulting from that is misotheism. But the fandom doesn’t usually take that part, and instead claims that genocide was, if not good, then necessary and a net positive. And that I just can’t - can’t - express how absolutely abhorrent that idea is to me, though I’ve tried. I know that the people saying this sort of thing aren’t thinking about it in those terms, and it’s not that I believe that they’re bad people who would legitimately support genocide in reality; they’re just not recognizing what happened to the Jedi as a genocide in the first place. But it absolutely was a genocide, there is no way around it.
As for “being both light and dark”, on that, I don’t agree. In fact, I don’t really agree that people are really light or dark at all - more on that here, but tl;dr: “light” and “dark” are not inherent qualities to one’s character - the dark exists, it will always exist because selfishness and greed and cruelty and suffering will always exist, and people either resist it or they give into it.
And the Sith? The Sith jump right down through giving into it and right on into actively making it worse for not just themselves, but the whole galaxy as well.

Whats your thoughts on the other groups and their computer literacy? I think wayfinder that even though hes dumb with lots of other things tera is surprisingly good with computers, and with ice cream trio that Xion is the best probably cause vex downloaded lots of science and comprehension into her when he original made her. Idk how to phrase it but id love to hear what you think bout them
ooh! Axel/Lea i feel like hes a computer illiterate by choice. Considering he grew up in radiant garden, possibly worked for a while under ansem the wise and considering how the world that never was and the org 13 castle looks like, he was probably nauseated by all of it and decided to never touch a computer in his life. Roxas is chill with it, he probably knows how to use computers and phones because even if hes like, a years old he has memories from “living” in twilight town and so ansem probably “taught” him how to. I like the idea that Xion is good with computers! Same with Namine, she’s in general really good at science.
I agree for Terra, hes like, pretty stupid and naive but is really good with electronical stuff. Didn’t really get a chance to exploits his abilities in the Land of Departure but post kh3 he gets really invested in it. Also like, he probably has a few memories from when he “was” Terranort, so it’s likely he instinctively knows how to work around this stuff.
Aqua and Ventus both don’t know how to turn on a phone and they refuse to learn

Hey this isnt for the ask thing but i just wanted to let you know i enjoy your blog a lot! Its nice to see someone who actually tries to show the jedi arent completely as bad as people say. I have some problems with the jedi myself but i still think they are good and for the most part i agree with a lot of what you say! I did want to ask though what is your opinion first blush on the high republic idea of jedi as knights rather then monks? (Pt one)
(Pt 2) Personally i think that this could show more people the jedi at their best, and what makes them a positive force in the galaxy at large. Also im still new to your blog so i just may not have seen it yet but whats your opinions on non jedi or sith force orders, and do you think the high republic might be a good chance to explore these a little more too?
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy my blog.
I don’t really see “knight” and “monk” as being mutually exclusive when it comes to the Jedi, I think they function as both - but I’m definitely looking forward to the High Republic stuff! I think it has potential to give us a closer look at Jedi culture, see more of what they did before the galaxy became a hotbed. I’m reasonably confident that they will be shown positively in the actual material, but whether that’ll do anything to get the wider fandom to rethink how they see the Jedi...well, that I’m much less confident on. If they aren’t taking the least charitable interpretation of everything these Jedi say and do, they’ll use them as a condemnation against the prequel-Jedi regardless of whether it makes sense. I expect to see plenty of “the prequel Jedi’s problem is that they weren’t like this”, and at least 80% of it will be things that are actually true about the prequel Jedi as well, such as the fact that they encourage mindfulness and control of emotions, not suppression.
While I’m primarily interested in the Jedi, in their culture and relationship with the Force, I’ve got nothing against other Force-wielding groups as a concept (as long as they’re not being used to prop up an author’s OCs as superior to the Jedi Order) - I think there’s plenty interesting things that could be done with them. Whether they’ll be involved in the High Republic...probably not at first, but maybe later down the line they’ll want to do more with other Force users (both good and bad), since they can’t really have the Sith out in the open during this period.
