Spoilers teasers for three!!!! new stories coming soon to my account
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘’What do you know of this house?’’ Her grey bright eyes slowly glance over the painting. ‘’House Balarion.’’ She nods to the painting. The old lady in your grandmother’s retirement home asks.
You tell her what you learned in history, in art history to be more specific.  ‘’I know Balerion used to be the Valyrian god of death and the underworld.’’ You tell her.
Aemma approaches you, a kind hopeful glimmer in her eyes, precious as a diamond. She takes your hands into her own, handing you something. When you open your hands, there lies a locket, a clear dragon-shaped locket.
‘’I have seen it in your eyes. I see a hunger, a curiosity for the unknown. I think you can bring me and my family what we always wanted.’’
‘’What is that?’’ You wonder.
Her eyes sting briefly with tears before she clutches you tightly. ‘’Peace.’’ You gawk at her as she leans closer. ‘’Watch out for the black big dragon. Yes, you will. You will…watch out…for the black…big…dragon…he is watching you…’’ She mutters, as she softly strumbles away from you, to her room. ‘’It will become clear soon. All will be revealed. Trust no one. You can trust…no one…’’
—---------
You sit on Aemond’s bed, after he helps you with the letter and hides it from Visery’s watchful eyes. You have decided to trust him. ‘’So this old lady, in my grandmother’s retirement home, she has a painting of the house, this house-.’’
‘’That’s spooky.’’ He comments but he does not tell you are crazy. Not yet at least. ‘’It’s gets a lot more spookier.’’ You take off your necklace, opening the locket so he can see for himself. Inside is the picture of the girl. ‘’I think this is Aemma. And I think that old Lady used to live here.’’ Aemond’s brows narrow, as he studies the picture.
‘’And I think that Viserys had something to with the death of her parents.’’ His good eye slightly widens at your confession. ‘’I think he knew what this house was hiding. And that’s why he had to get rid of them.’’
‘’How and why would he?’’
‘’Because somewhere in this house, lies a treasure.’
—-
Daemon brings the cigarette to his lips before smoking, when studying y/n as she and Aemond read books together. ‘’I don’t like her. That new girl is hiding something.’’ He mutters. ‘’She and Aem sneak to Visery’s basement a lot.’’
His best friend, Jacaerys laughs.
‘’They are probably just feeling each other up and making out.’’
‘’Hm. Probably…’’ But Daemon is no fool and knows the smell of gold, treasure and money all too well.
—-
Aegon grabs his younger brother by the throat, his big eyes full of terror Aemond never saw before. With shaking hands, he takes the dagger from Aemond. ‘’I want you to stop scooping and to stop messing with things you both don’t understand. Do you want to end up like the Arryns?’’ Aegon asks, rapidly shaking Aemond until he blurs out an answer.
‘’Why, what happened to the Arryns?’’
Aegon huffs, putting the candles away.
‘’Nothing good. Please, brother. Take this advice to heart. Stop waking the dead.’’
You sit on your grandmother’s bed. Since you and Aemond have awakened the curse, to start the trials, she has entered a coma. And so has Aegon. The trials must be solved in time, so the treasure can be found, and returned back to Valyria, lifting the curse before it's too late. Aemond holds you tightly as you sob into his arms. ‘’It is too much, Aem. It is way too much.’’
‘’I know. But we must find the treasure, before Daemon or Viserys.’’ He murmurs. ‘’We must.’’
You clean your face, as you slowly look up in the mirror. Behind you stands a silver-haired woman, wearing a ivory classic Valyrian gown with dragon details. In her hand, she holds a dagger. She takes one look at your necklace before she aims the dagger at your throat.
‘’You will hand me back all that you people stole from me, or you will meet your demise.’’
—The house of Balerion,  based on the Dutch show: Het huis Anubis, based on the legends surrounding the curse of the graverobbers, based on the ‘’curse of the mummy.’’ on my account soon.

Dear Highest honoured guest,
It is with great pride and pleasure,

Designed by the Velyaron seahorse line, they ensure this ship to be the newest of the newest with luxuries out of this world. Balarion will be talked about for generations, perhaps centuries to come. The designer of the ship, Corlys Velyaron, calls the ship his newest beautiful and biggest entry yet, giving her the nickname: Unsinkable.
We expect a smooth voyage with Captain Viserys Targaryen, and we expect to see you soon.

‘’But now i do. I’ve become a symbol. A symbol of hope, of possibility. And he wants me dead. I killed his brother, his father, and set his world on fire. But he threw me back in the arena. He tried to kill me first.’’

No stranger would it be…
‘’For years, all I wanted was to do nothing with the corrupt regency of my father. The games were a distraction, he always said it. A way to control the masses. I was to be the head game maker. Now? Gold as an Investment
Before jumping on the gold bandwagon, let us first put a damper on the enthusiasm around gold and examine some reasons why investing in gold poses some fundamental issues.
The main problem with gold is that, unlike other commodities such as oil or wheat, it does not get used up or consumed. Once gold is mined, it stays in the world. A barrel of oil, on the other hand, is turned into gas and other products that are expended in your car's gas tank or an airplane's jet engines. Grains are consumed in the food we and our animals eat. Gold, on the other hand, is turned into jewelry, used in art, stored in ingots locked away in vaults, and put to a variety of other uses. Regardless of gold's final destination, its chemical composition is such that the precious metal cannot be used up—it is permanent.
Because of this, the supply-demand argument that can be made for commodities such as oil and grains doesn't hold so well for gold. In other words, the supply will only go up over time, even if demand for the metal dries up.
History Overcomes the Supply Problem
Like no other commodity, gold has held the fascination of human societies since the beginning of recorded time. Empires and kingdoms were built and destroyed over gold and mercantilism. As societies developed, gold was universally accepted as a satisfactory form of payment. In short, history has given gold a power surpassing that of any other commodity on the planet, and that power has never really disappeared.
The U.S. monetary system was based on a gold standard until the 1970s.
1
Proponents of this standard argue that such a monetary system effectively controls the expansion of credit and enforces discipline on lending standards because the amount of credit created is linked to a physical supply of gold. It's hard to argue with that line of thinking after nearly three decades of a credit explosion in the U.S. led to the financial meltdown in the fall of 2008.
From a fundamental perspective, gold is generally viewed as a favorable hedge against inflation. Gold functions as a good store of value against a declining currency.
2
Investing in Gold
The easiest way to gain exposure to gold is through the stock market, via which you can invest in the shares of gold-mining companies. Investing in gold bullion won't offer the leverage you would get from investing in gold-mining stocks. As the price of gold goes up, miners' higher profit margins can boost earnings exponentially. Suppose a mining company has a profit margin of $200 when the price of gold is $1,000. If the price rises 10%, to $1,100 an ounce, the operating margin of the gold miner goes up to $300—a 50% increase.
Of course, there are other issues to consider with gold-mining stocks, namely political risk (because many operate in developing nations) and the difficulty of maintaining gold production levels.
The most common way to invest in physical gold is through an exchange-traded fund (ETF) like the SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), which simply holds gold.
When investing in ETFs, pay attention to net asset value (NAV), as the purchase price can at times exceed NAV by a wide margin, especially when the markets are optimistic.
A list of gold-mining companies includes Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX.TO), Newmont Corp. (NEM), and Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM), among others. Passive investors who want great exposure to the gold miners may consider the VanEck Vectors Gold Miners ETF (GDX), which includes investments in all the major miners.
Alternative Investment Considerations
While gold is a good bet on inflation, it's certainly not the only one. Commodities in general benefit from inflation because they have pricing power. The key consideration when investing in commodity-based businesses is to go for low-cost producers. More conservative investors would also do well to consider inflation-protected securities like Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities, or TIPS. The one thing you don't want is to be sitting idle—in cash, thinking you're doing well—while inflation is eroding the value of your dollar.
Gold Price Performance
The price of gold depends on a complex array of factors. Because gold is priced in dollars, the value of the U.S. currency can have a significant impact on the performance of the precious metal. A strong dollar makes gold more expensive for buyers in other countries, potentially leading to lower gold prices. On the other hand, a weaker dollar makes gold more affordable for international purchasers and may bring increased prices. Since gold is seen as a hedge against inflation, the decline in value of fiat currencies and the market's expectations surrounding inflation can also affect gold prices.
3
These factors seem to be evident in the yellow metal's recent price history. Throughout most of 2022, despite soaring levels of inflation, gold prices actually dipped, likely driven lower by sustained strength in the dollar against other currencies. More recently, with inflation remaining stubbornly persistent despite the Federal Reserve's attempts to bring it under control, gold prices have recovered to more than $1,875 per ounce in January 2023, from around $1,656 per ounce in September 2022.
3
What's to Come
You can't ignore the effect of human psychology when it comes to investing in gold. The precious metal has always been a go-to investment during times of fear and uncertainty, which tend to go hand in hand with economic recessions and depressions.
In the articles that follow, we examine how and why gold gets its fundamental value, how it's used as a form of money, and which factors subsequently influence its price on the market—from miners to speculators to central banks. We will look at the fundamentals of trading gold and what types of securities or instruments are commonly used to gain exposure to gold investments. We'll look at using gold both as a long-term component of a diversified portfolio and as a short-term day trading asset. We'll look at the benefits of gold but also examine the risks and pitfalls and see if it lives up to the "gold standard."
What Makes Gold Valuable?
Aside from its literal shine and the symbolic relationship with wealth that has lasted throughout human civilization, gold plays an important role as a store of value and a medium of exchange. Unlike other commodities, gold does not get used up or consumed, imbuing the precious metal with a sense of everlasting value. Gold serves as a hedge against the declining value of currencies through inflation, which leads many investors to consider gold an alternative asset and a way of safeguarding their wealth.
What Is the Gold Standard?
Under the gold standard, the value of a currency is pegged to the value of gold. The Bretton Woods Agreement, which formed the framework for global currency markets starting at the end of World War II, established that the U.S. dollar was convertible to gold at a fixed rate of $35 per ounce, with other world currencies valued in relation to the dollar.
4
President Nixon ended the convertibility of the dollar to gold in 1971, signaling the end of the gold standard.
How Can I Invest in Gold?
There is a wide variety of options for investors who want exposure to gold. It's possible to invest directly in gold bullion, although the costs of storing and insuring physical gold can be significant. Investors also can turn to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that hold the precious metal or purchase shares of mining companies whose stock prices are correlated to gold's price performance.
The Bottom Line
Gold has held a special place in the human imagination since the beginning of recorded time. From an investment perspective, gold is attractive because of its potential to remain strong in difficult financial environments and to hedge against inflationary declines in the value of fiat currencies.
Although the U.S. dollar and other world currencies are no longer pegged to gold—as was the case when many countries operated under the gold standard—the precious metal continues to play an important role in the global economy.

This is Rain! Mo also goes by Corvid. Both of moths names are really cool, I’d love to hear how mo got them.
Ae likes to draw. I bet ae's a really skilled artist! What kind of things does ae like to draw? Does ae share aer art on aer blog? It's up to aem if ae does, of course, but I would love to see some of aer art!
Corvid also likes to write. Are there any genres mo likes to stick to, or does mo prefer to branch out? Fanfiction is pretty fun, does mo write any? Or does mo prefer moths writing to be about worlds and characters that mo comes up with mothself?
Rain's also a fan of crows and the show Stranger Things. What does ae like about them? Crows are pretty cool, does ae like them because they're smart, or because they look pretty? Also, does ae have a favorite character from Stranger Things? I've heard that some people aren't a fan of the latest season, would ae like to share aer thoughts on it?
I hope Corvid has a great day/night, I'll see mo around!

Are you a fan of detailed fantasy worlds that will take you far away to a place of dragons and demons and humans with magic powers?  I have a series for you!
Lisa contacted me some time ago when I first announced that I was going to do some author interviews.  We’ve been author friends on Facebook for a while, and she also writes fantasy, so I thought I’d give her books a go and learn about the magic in her books.
I read Talismans, which is the first book in her Wise Ones series.  Ley Lines comes next, and there’s a third book coming out in June.  You can preorder it here.
Lisa’s fantasy world is well built.  You can tell how much effort she’s put into building her magic system and the world of her characters.  There’s a grand scheme to all of it, like most good fantasy books.  Her magic users get their powers from God, so there’s a minor nod to that in the books.  A kind of C.S. Lewis element for adults you might say.  My favorite part was the interaction (and humor) between the wise ones and the dragons.  I believe her sister does the art work for the books.  Amazing, aren’t they?  For a look at the third cover (and to learn more about Lisa), hop on over to https://www.magicintheland.com
Don’t forget to add her books to your Goodreads!  Now let’s get to know more about Lisa!
Introduce yourself.  Name.  Nickname    Hello, I’m Lisa Lowell, author of the Wise One series and also that big stack of ideas in my trunk that I started back when I was twelve.  I could finish one a year and never get them all written. I’m from Oregon, but have traveled quite a bit and always came back to the quiet green of home.  My husband and I have three children and love our life together (25 years next June) despite its unexpected twists. My nickname is unspeakable.
What personality trait has gotten you into the most trouble? The personality trait that has gotten me into the most trouble is a toss-up.  When I was younger, it was putting myself down.  It kept me from pursuing my writing and made for a lack of attachments.  I wrote gloomy prose that no one wanted to read because I was so negative on myself.  Then, after an epiphany that I won’t reveal here, I grew up.  Now, in my adult years, I find my temper gets me into trouble.  I have no patience for people since I didn’t learn how to make friends who didn’t love books and writing, so that frustration bleeds into my work and relationships.  However, from my prior experiences with overcoming my first fatal flaw, I’ve insisted that my characters too, can grow, adapt and change.
What genre (of collection) do you write in and why?  I started with fantasy, dabbled in sci-fi and even a little historical fiction.  I minored in history and love to take a spin on ancient scripture.  Why these three?  It is the magical element I cannot resist.  That’s why I don’t write within more established historical time periods.  I need the fantasy that Egypt or Babylon can bring to their long-lost world.  I enjoy science fiction for the same reason.  Aliens and super heroes bring their own fantastical facets to the writing.  In the end, it’s always about the magic.
Where do you call home? Home is western Oregon, in small rural towns all up and down the valley.  I’ve never liked living in big cities, although I have done so in my younger years.  I need the green of the forest, the splash of waterfalls and the quiet of a long walk in a garden in order to write what I do.
What books are/have you written?  At present I have two books published: Talismans and Ley Lines, the first two in Wise Ones series.  There are nine in that series altogether, and all are accepted for publication.  The third, Life Giver, is about to be published as well.  Also, I’ve got several stand alone novels that I haven’t pursued yet.  One, Dual, is a nanowrimo attempt that failed because I wanted it to be of better quality, so I took two months on it.  I also have an historical romance set in ancient Babylon, Israel and Egypt.  In between books for the Wise One series, I’m fleshing out a six or seven book sci-fi series called Markpath that I’ve dabbled with for over twenty years.  In other words, I’ve got too much writing to stop and enjoy a bout of writer’s block.
If you are having a rotten day, what do you do to conquer that?  My house is at its cleanest when I’m at my meanest.  If I’m having a rotten day, I break out the scrub brushes and take my frustration out on the hard surfaces of my house.  It’s therapeutic and cathartic as well as safer than taking it out on those loved ones around me. I would do that too easily.  Then I go for a walk in the garden.
What would you name your boat?  First of all, I would never own a boat.  My father-in-law says boat stands for ‘break out another thousand’, and I am a consummate penny pincher.  However, if I did own a boat it would be called Talisman, after my first published book.
What’s your biggest kitchen disaster?  My biggest kitchen disaster was miserable because of what it meant.  I’m not a great cook so my husband Pat used to do most of the cooking.  However, he developed Parkinsons about fifteen years ago and the worst day was when he was trying to make spaghetti.  He was pouring in a can of tomato sauce and the shakes were so bad that he dropped the nearly full can into the sauce and it splattered throughout the kitchen, even on the ceiling.  I had to repaint the ceiling and wash all the cupboards.  However, the worst part was taking the spoon away from him permanently.  It was one of the first restrictions Parkinsons imposed on the man I love, but not the last.  I remember that miserable day every time he loses something more he once loved to do.
Tell me about one of your characters.  Owailion, from the first Wise Ones novel, has a place in my heart.  He is an engineer, who had his memory destroyed before he was brought to my world and made into an apprentice in magic, taught by the dragons.  He is quiet and very intelligent, but can be overwhelmed by beauty.  That awe makes him utterly speechless.  I like him a lot, but would we get along in real life?  I think I would love to go out for dinner with him, but I could not see myself being a friend.  He’s a bit too stiff and I would feel like I was in the presence of a prophet. Of course, he would get along with me because I love them, despite his flaws.  He is far better than me.
If someone asked to be your apprentice and learn all that you know, what would they end up learning?  I am a teacher in my day job. Hence the reason I dabble in writing – to help pay the bills since teaching pays squat and my husband can no longer work.  If someone (and several have) asked to apprentice under me, they would have quite a few subjects from which to select.  I can teach sign language, writing, public speaking and drawing.  I also dabble in Swedish, calligraphy, piano, guitar, voice lessons and genealogy.  Take your pick.  I don’t limit myself, why should you?
What are your future writing plans?  I plan on finishing the Wise Ones series (six more to go) and get Dual and Prince of Samaria up and running.  Those are already written and the editing and revision are not nearly as satisfying as the writing portion, so I’d sustain my writing muse by delving into the Markpath series, which I like more than the Wise Ones.  It will take more time because of its content and the research needed, but it’s far more dynamic and rawer, which I like.
You’re in the middle of a wizarding duel.  What animal do you transfigure into?  This is funny because one of the characters in book #7 in the Wise Ones has that ability and he cannot do anything that’s as large as a dragon, or as small as a microbe, so he often wants to become that dragon.  I’d probably select a dragon simply because I could get away and yet still be very safe if I elected to stay.  I’m a lover, not a fighter, and when I get angry, I’m fearsome.  A dragon that would fly away doesn’t strike me as a coward, but also doesn’t have to fight.  That’s what I like about it.
You are transported to one of your favorite books.  Where are you?  I am on Pern, although I don’t think I’d like it there very much.  I would probably not be a dragonrider, so the rest of life would be rather inglorious.  Maybe I could handle being a harper. I like music and while I’m not overly talented, the teaching of children is right up my path.
Thank you, Lisa, for letting us get to you know and your books a little better.  I feel like we could chill over coffee if we were closer neighbors!   It’s been a pleasure, and it sounds like we can expect more good literature from you!

Adobe is a Leader for 7th Year in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management
Web Content Management is the foundation of a brand’s digital transformation. Brands who are winning, regardless of industry/B2B/B2C, are those that take advantage of digital to craft new product/services and business models. At the heart of this is a new generation of customer experiences made possible by companies who are able to source the most compelling content, harness meaning from vast pools of data and have powerful tools and machine learning algorithms to deliver personalized experiences in the context of the customer in the moments that matter.
For a 7th year, Adobe is a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management we believe because of our relentless focus on product innovation, partner ecosystem and the success of companies who have invested in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Over the past year, the demands on web content management have exploded. I’ve quickly seen companies who originally used AEM for their responsive websites now expand their use across mobile and IoT channels, and beyond marketing to other parts of the customer journey where digital experiences have become paramount.
On a personal level, 2017 is also the year I think consumers are feeling the impact of these trends. My parent’s entire irrigation system is connected to the Internet and they can control the water timing from their iPhones. A visit this weekend to a birthday party was orchestrated by an Amazon Echo playing the music and keeping track of a pie in the oven for 15 min. All these screens, voice activations, integrations between digital and physical are seeping into our lives…and the pace is accelerating. A marketing moment, a customer service moment, a sales moment all are blurring. The traditional functional lines defined by organizational structure is being disrupted by the worldview of empowered consumers who see everything as part of relationships that bring greater joy and value, or pain and inconvenience.
Simple to Start Now, Scales to Meet Future Needs While Adobe continues to innovate AEM as a digital experience platform that can source compelling content from greater sources and serve contextually relevant content to any owned, earned and paid touchpoint, we continue to make foundational experiences such as responsive websites and landing pages simple. The UX and engineering teams continue to push the limits of AEM’s user interface to make it evermore intuitive — an area that Gartner has noted in this latest MQ. A web content management solution is only as valuable as the number of people who are able to use it across business and IT developers. In the last several years we have also introduced the ability to preview and edit on a responsive grid, business user template authoring, initiative UI to define targeted experiences to an audience and core components. These innovations included in our AEM Managed Services offering, paired with customization services offerings by partners and Adobe Global Services, make it highly accessible for companies to get started quickly with AEM and have the confidence in a foundation that will continue to adapt to the growing needs of the business for years and decades.
You don’t want to start with a web content management foundation that is “good enough”. If there is anything this disruptive digital era has shown is that the transformation is accelerating and, in the long-run, most of our estimates on the scale of technology impact is grossly underestimated. As Amara’s law states, “We tend to overestimate the effect of a technology in the short run and underestimate the effect in the long run.”
Engaging Content Fuels Great Experiences Given Adobe’s heritage, we have a strong culture and appreciation that it takes great content to fuel great experiences. Each time I visit an art gallery or peruse a portfolio on Behance, I am reminded of the powerful nature of content that presents new ideas, invites strong emotions and tells memorable stories. Digital now makes historical and current content much more accessible and engaging. Adobe has invested to ensure AEM is able to source and curate the necessary content across both brand-created assets, such as images and videos through the Adobe Creative Cloud, to user-generated content from social networking sites such as Instagram or Facebook. With content insights, organizations are able to understand the most impactful content to further optimize a content and personalization strategy.
Fluid Experiences, the Modern Answer to Headless CMS According to Gartner there are 8.4 billion connected things in use worldwide as of 2017. This is up 31 percent from 2016, and will reach 20.4 billion by 2020. Brands are already using AEM as an omnichannel content hub today. For instance, Hyatt uses AEM to manage their loyalty program (World of Hyatt) through central booking engine and combines the traditional workflow of researching hotels with editorial content to augment to traveler’s experience on their digital channels. In this case, AEM provides a flexible way to manage the content for the primary web channel yet supports the ability to push content out to parts of the site that are more customized and less traditional.
We continue to make it easier to use AEM as a content hub for emerging channels and applications including single-page apps. Adobe enables organizations to realize this vision with Fluid Experiences, which supports both developer and marketing/business needs: content that flows and adapts to the interaction context. Investments in content fragments, experience fragments and content services, in addition to the machine-learning framework, Adobe Sensei, make this possible at an even greater scale. This is not your grandfather’s headless content management system that only provides APIs. AEM has always had APIs to deliver content as a service. However, with APIs alone, organizations will quickly face the same IT bottlenecks of the past. Fluid experiences is Adobe’s innovation that gives IT developers and business users the ability to address the goals of headless, in a way that meets the demands across business operations and goals.
Adobe’s investment in web content management is focused on helping companies become leaders in digital transformation, now and well into the future. We’re fortunate that we are in a unique position to do this, not only because of our leadership in web content management, but also our leadership into a family of solutions, as part of the Adobe Experience Cloud. We have received Gartner leadership recognition in other critical components of an Experience Business including Multichannel Campaign Management, Digital Marketing Hubs and Digital Marketing Analytics.
Yes, digital transformation is a journey, not a destination. I’m proud to work with leading companies and partners who have been on the journey with us for over a decade, and to welcome the new companies who have invited us on their journey. The vision is clear, the commitment is strong. Adobe’s leadership in Gartner Magic Quadrants, including this latest one for web content management, only underlines Adobe’s commitment that we will continue to work to make sure all of you continue to be leaders in your respective industries.
I invite you to take a look at the latest Gartner MQ for Web Content Management and understand how Adobe Experience Manager can be the foundation of your digital transformation.
