Seeing some new faces that ***aren't*** bots interacting with my posts here, so have some links to my most often-updated multichapter AO3 works-in-progress, for new and new-ish Tumblr followers.
If you're a RISE OF THE GUARDIANS movie / THE GUARDIANS OF CHILDHOOD books fan: try A CITIZEN OF THE UNIVERSE AND A GENTLEMAN TO BOOT. It's a Boogeyman redemption story, no pairings, suitable for all ages, with a few crossover characters from other media.
If you've followed me for ROTGOC content and have found yourself falling into the AU vortex that is Nightmare Dork University: the story that is currently taking up most of my NDU brainspace is ECDYSIS, otherwise known as "the unsnobbing of Piki Black". Rating is probably teen, more to do with angst than with situations.
I'm in the midst of writing a human!AU story, based on the events and characters from the videogame DELTARUNE, titled CALL SIGNS. This is the first of a planned series of works, and you do not have to be familiar with the game to enjoy the story! This one's definitely mature in its themes, since it deals with relationships and with recovery. A fair number of Nightmare Dork University characters make appearances alongside Swatch, Spamton, Tasque Manager, and the Addisons.

Social Media platform usage, etc…
I’ve spent a bit of time thinking through how I use different social media platforms, especially as a creator. I’m trying to better grow my presence as a writer, and do more to put myself out there. It’s… overwhelming. I can recognize that and I can own that I haven’t done much.
To that end, I’ve made some decisions about how I’ll be using my different social media platforms, and what’s available where.
Information on supporting me, as well as blogs, newsletters, and Mastodon and Twitter behind the read more!
Paid Content
I am set up on Patreon for monthly support, and Ko-Fi for both monthly support and random one-time donations. Monthly supporters on both platforms will get unscheduled posts of snippets, behind-the-scenes sneak peeks as well as thoughts as I develop projects. This’ll be across all my original work, including the PHU ’verse, the new Seven Lakes ’verse, and short stories in development for tradpub, self-pub, or small press.
Monthly supporters on Patreon will also get previews of new chapters when Welcome to PHU starts posting again. Those previews are usually posted one posting cycle ahead of the chapter going live on Tumblr and Pillowfort.
Tumblr, Pillowfort, and Dreamwidth
The Welcome to PHU serial is currently available on both Pillowfort and Tumblr; I do not have plans to mirror it on Dreamwidth as well. There are seven full novels serialized, and 20ish stories. I do plan on continuing to post to those blogs; Nate, Dax, and Cass need to get moving on their roadtrip (PHU book #8: Run Together).
On my personal blogs on Tumblr, Pillowfort, and Dreamwidth, I will post random rambling blog posts on anything from how writing relates to knitting, trope inspections, my thoughts on craft (which are not lessons, just me deconstructing my own thoughts), to fandom flailing. I’ll mirror these posts on my professional site at TrisLawrence.com too, because at the heart of it, I’m a fan as well as a writer as well as someone who loves to knit, or listen to music, or… whatever. These posts are all free, and just for fun. Maybe instructional, if I’m lucky.
Mostly they are fun and no stress for me. I hope.
Newsletters
I’ve been doing a monthly newsletter on Patreon for subscribers. That will be mirrored on Ko-Fi, and on both sites it will be subscriber-only at first, then go public after a few days. I also plan on setting up a mailing list and mirroring on my professional site after the posts have been made public. So subscribing/following on any of those platforms should let you see that information.
Newsletters are a roundup of what I’ve been up to for the month, in terms of personal life, publishing life, writing life. What’s coming out, what’s been sold, where can you find my words… and if I’m not writing, why. You might even get cat pictures.
Mastodon and Twitter
I’m on Mastodon more than Twitter these days; it’s a lot lower stress for me. And those are just microbursts about writing, fandom, anime, knitting, whatever happens to percolate up in my mind. I’m interactive and chatty. I’m just me. Please, feel free to connect up. I’ll try to remember to announce blog and newsletter posts there as well.
Discord
Yes, I’ve created a Tris/PHU Discord as a thing that can be linked to Patreon/Ko-Fi and as something that folks can join without being patrons. Mostly just as a chatter space, and a way to flail about writing. Or sprint with me, if you want to. Because I focus well while sprinting. It will eventually get launched, and I will announce it then.
I think that covers everything. WOW social media is so spread out these days. If there’s a platform I haven’t mentioned, please feel free to ask about it. If you have questions, give a yell. I’m happy to try to answer.

what's up with the next PHU book?
I haven't forgotten about Welcome to PHU!
Definitely haven't forgotten. Much of what I've done in the last six months has been very centered around Welcome to PHU, but it has been invisible work and not on the next book.
The next serialized book will be Run Together, otherwise known as the Nate, Dax, and Cass take a cross-country road trip in Dax's minivan and encounter many road trip tropes along the way, all in the name of attempting to locate Cass's sister. I'm looking forward to this.
Many of the books and characters in the PHU 'verse are based on ones I created long ago, and wrote other stories for that never saw the light of day. Most of the new books share many similarities with the originals, but have been expanded and are well, way better. This one has the same roots as the original, but is probably the most different out of any of the redrafted storylines I stole from myself. Which means the reason it didn't work the first time around is that I was writing the wrong book. I'll be glad to get it right this time.
Anyway, why have I not started drafting it yet?
Well, I spent a long time rereading books in order to take necessary notes, both for drafting future books AND for publication.
I've written a short story (or a few) for Duck Prints Press, including one wholly original new one in the PHU 'verse that was published last week.
I'm working with DPP on getting the Twinned books ready for their publication this summer (exciting!). The same cover artist will be back. We're re-editing Commit to the Kick now, and then the next two, so you'll be able to get the whole trilogy if you missed out on CttK, or just the latter two is you've already got the first. But that's a huge focus thing.
And um. I'm cheating on the PHU 'verse a little while starting up a new set of stories with the Seven Lakes 'verse. I've been writing Begin Again, the first book in that series. Modern with magic, yes, but not the same kind. Maybe a little more traditional. Definitely romance novel focused. The books will be MUCH shorter, and aren't going to be serialized. These will be packaged up and indy published, so I'm figuring I need to start dealing with all the bits that go with that, too, like oh, cover art. Eek. Fun? Yeah. Hah.
And writing and time have continued to be difficult. Life is not calm, and being stressed is not great for writing. My second carpal tunnel surgery will be scheduled soon, and I'm hoping that after THAT recovery I might finally start to find a way back to a routine. Because I really need a routine.

i'm aware that a few contestants have traits, particularly in the realm of disability and neurodivergency but possibly in other areas as the tournament goes on, that aren't particularly understood by people outside those communities.
due to this, i'd like to officially state that i'm opening a #resources tag along with the existing #headcanons, #creations, and #propaganda. if you're familiar with the topic of any trait, including ones not related to disability/neurodivergence/etc, feel free to send in advice, dos and don'ts, or useful links that you'd like other people following this tournament to see! this isn't a replacement for doing your own research, of course, but it should hopefully still be useful!

Fanfiction author of works in the RISE OF THE GUARDIANS / GUARDIANS OF CHILDHOOD fandom, the ROTGOC subfandom known as Nightmare Dork University and its near-infinite AUs, and the DELTARUNE fandom, specifically centered around Chapter 2 and the Swatchton pairing, with the SwatchSpamManager OT3 starting to find its way into my tales.
I started writing fanfiction in 2015, at the ripe young age of 52. Make of that what you will.
