Imagine going after Trump but not actual crime going on in New York like what happened with the migrants & the NYPD
If this kangaroo court stands then every person who has obtained a real estate loan could be prosecuted based on who they vote for.
Why were they even looking at his real estate dealings to begin with? There was no victim complaining about losses or fraud. They just targeted him and investigated anything and everything.
Normally lawsuits of this sort require a victim in order to have a monetary payout. My question is, who is the victim and where is the money going?

This is concerning on a meta-level as well (whether you like Trump or not). One of the primary social functions of the law is to make life predictable and allow for planning. And the main way certain states used to terrorize their citizens was to remove that very function. What is legal today could be illegal tomorrow and laws are applied selectively. This leaves the population with the constant threat of being subjected to punishment…be it through an existing regulation or not. The subsequent breakdown in institutional trust is just a matter of time.
