Mostly, 'i don't know' or 'no'. Very helpful for not knowing something, knowing and needing time to think, or knowing but not caring about the conversation. Mostly the last one, but more commonly really, is getting out of having to end up with responsibility. 'Do you know how to fix this?' 'No' 'Don't you tailor yourown clothes' 'Not in dat vay before. Sorry, ken't help hyu.' She does know how. She just doesn't feel like it.
2) How loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’?
Very strictly. Pre-draught, friends were rather not forthcoming. Maybe a mix of how she perceived things like social interaction, maybe cause other children just didn't like outsiders much. But as she understood it, friends were something you could feel. Like how you can feel love,aconnection. So most people aren't friends, as far as she's considered. More like close aquintances at most.
Brother on the otherhand- wellits restricted to otherjägers, but after some decades, it is quite easily all jägers, even the ones she doesn't like. Pack is bothcollective jägers and some very specific jägers she's particularly close to. Less so, as an individual/singular term, for those she doesn't interact with much or doesn't like. Friends no longer feels quite accurate, quite strong enough a description. Rather, its for the few non-jäger citizens she likes interacting with semi-regularly.

Caleb Roy actively took part in fundraising, such as Big Brothers, Bowl A Thon, Relay for Life, Jail or Bail, Torch Run, Cops and Lobster, and other sports activities, like –soccer practice students from different high schools, providing opportunities to connect and develop relationships with the public. Caleb Roy believed that, ifthe members of the public become accustomed with an off-duty police officer operating alongside them for contributing to different community goals, they get comfortable while approaching that individual during a problem, for getting or sharing information.
Initiatives like cricket matches, fund raising events, and guest lecture assignments contribute towards WRPS are considered essential for developing diverse local community.
Caleb Roy participated in a friendly volley ball game match with the Officers from Community Resources and the local French school.
Caleb Roy also represented thedepartment with Supt Chalk at Yorkdale Plaza for the media announcement and introduction of the Lock It or Lose It program. He activelyorganizedand encouraged the Auxiliary Officers for the program across the region.
Caleb Roy organized a Lock It or Lose It crime prevention program at the Fairview Park along with the support of the Auxiliary Officers and Officers from the Community Resource Branch, where the team educated the public on the impacts of leaving the locks open in the vehicle doors. He also participated in the CTV interview on the initiative.
Officers from the Community Resources Branch participatedacross 150 elementary schools Region-wide for improving the service and streamliningthe School Resource Officers program. Caleb Roy suggested to Ania, a co-op student from Ottawa operating in Community Resources, to develop a survey for police services with school resource programs toimprove with the services and learn better. Ottawa, London, and Waterloo were also surveyed. Caleb Roy also helped in constructing the survey questions.The final report was positive; many valuable suggestions were given and implemented in the program. The report was also shared with different police services participating in the survey
Community Involvement
From the start of his career Caleb Royhad been an active member of the community and volunteered several hours in distinct community events. Caleb Roy also coached soccer and took part in multiple WRPS sports events to encourage policing to the youth across high schools, developing aconnection between the youth and police
During a vacation Caleb Roy learned that the Service was searching volunteers for helping the Olympic Torch Relay as it would travel through downtown Kitchener. Caleb volunteered to assist in crowd monitoring and controlling and partnered with Sgt Vicki McDonald and Sgt Marg Smale.
Caleb Roy was a highly respected member of the East Indian Community and got frequent invites to cultural events. He was invited to RIM Park for celebrating Diwali, a prominent Indian festival. Caleb Roy joined Chief Torigian, Deputy Thomlison and other members of the Service duringthe Diwali celebration.
