GUYS I WENT AND SAW FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S YESTERDAY FOR HALLOWEEN AND I’M OBSESSED! I had high expectations and they were exceeded greatly! There were scenes I didn’t know they would include in the film, small easter eggs and references to the games and lore, cameos, AND THE END CREDITS AAAAA!!! It just fulfilled every need of mine and as someone who’s been a fan of the games for nine years, it was so amazing to see this iconic game get turned into a movie. The casting was really good too!! It was surreal to see two actors I’ve been watching since I was a kid play in this film. It genuinely felt like a fever dream. I couldn’t believe I watched the movie. It was SO good my sister and I actually watched it a second time when we got home lol
there’s a spoiler in the tags btw

We're at semi-finals! Great job! The left side was kind of a slaughterfest, while the right side was going back and forth every few days! Next round will be a single heat, both competing on the same day, and then...finals!
Polls can be found at #bracket polls, with polls and post-mortems both being at #pan-hellenic warzone if you'd like to see victories. Plain-text roundup below the cut.
Cassandra (plus Alcibiades) versus Eurydice and Achilles
Antigone versus Patroclus and Penelope

Nightingale found herself once again stumbling upon a strange building--this time, on the outskirts of a humble city amd surrounded by woodlands--during one of her long walks exploring. This one seemed closer to a proper lab, which immediately raised her hackles in defense. But the front was more...homey, in an old Japanese architecture kind of way. Not ancient, but old fashioned with some modern creative liberties taken to it. The main lab area seemed to be tacked onto the back of the home, sticking out against the natural look of the front like a sore thumb. Gale wanted little to do with any sort of labratory...but this one was odd enough that it piqued her curiosity. She decided to chance a closer look.
She crept up, silent and stealthy, until her back was against a wall by a window. Tuning her audials to hear even the faintest of sounds, she distinctly heard what sounded like dishes clinking together. The kitchen or a dining room, maybe? Braving a glance, she peeked around the windowsill to sneak a glance inside.

There's a pile of small and large bones along with shiny objects he'd spotted while flying around and the crow doesn't hesitate to drop off his haul to Dee. Part of it was repaying her for those delicious nuts and dried fruit and the other part is because he knows she's interested in these things.
Even before she could confirm the identity of the new crow, Deirdre could tell there was something odd (yet suspiciously familiar) with the human-like way the crow got closer and looked at her. This one didn't belong to the murder of crows she fed regularly, and for a lone crow to enter another murder's territory so who could be this mysterious crow that oozed of magical energy?
"...Aris?"
It seems she got it right on the first try! This had to be the first time she saw him in his crow form, which made her wonder what was the special occasion. "You want me to follow you? Alright." And so she was following Aris, her blue gaze following every movement of her friend until they reached the location he wanted to show her or, to be more precise, the pile of little treasures he had prepared for her?
"You brought all of this for me? There are so many things... and carefully selected too... it must've taken you a good while to collect them all." Some of the smaller and more fragile bones were difficult to come by as they were quick to crack. The larger bones were some of the most beautiful ones one could find in a skeleton. Between the shiny objects Aris got her, there even was a piece of a watch tainted with blood. Deirdre couldn't wait to examine them all!
It was rare for Deirdre to smile as smiles usually didn't come naturally to her but, right now, a smile adorned her lovely features. "I'll treasure them all, thank you, Aris."

<+> The Ramirez Family <+>
CW/TW: workaholic(?), implied murder, mentions of blood, mentions of bladed weapons, That Fear of Eyes Or Whatever, mentions of chemicals(?), implications of death(?), implied abandonment, implied isolation.
(Note there’s more I may not have noticed or not been able to label, but uh- yeah. just be careful. (also (?) means i didn’t know if it was the right wording or something i had to warn for but did anyway))
Author’s note: Very vaguely inspired by Something to Hide by grandson? I dunno I got bored. It was originally meant to be poetry but I gave up. Uh- I also tried to organise them by age order! I eventually found the note that listed their ages so that’s cool.
=====================================
His jaw is set and his word is final, yet his crown sits crooked on his head and there’s dark intentions that linger behind his eyes. Deceiving, vicious, cruel. He calls himself a ruler but he cowers behind his guards like a shield. If I were you, I wouldn’t consider even trusting him for or about anything.
Gentle voice and hands as soft as a Mother’s touch, she was a regalia of perfection and formality. A sweet bliss and an easy life. But if only people knew what she did once the curtains close. Oh, if only they knew.
A mess of bright green and inky black, limbs and eyes, things I can’t quite put the words to. A creature of Hell itself, sentient but terrifyingly savage. Misunderstood isn’t a label it falls under anymore, and in my honest opinion it never was in the first place.
A demon with a voice of gold and a tongue of silver. A frightening elegance and a distressing grace. It knows what it wants, and what it wants it gets. Unhindered, ethereal. Blood on it’s clawed hands and roses in it’s razor teeth. Charming and terrifying. It’s like there’s two personalities behind those glowing eyes that somehow work in harmony with each other.
Her retreat is sanitary halls, buzzing lights, whirring machinery and chemicals that probably weren’t verified by any branch of official. But her choice comes with a price. Isolation, a sense of guilt. A life of work and strain and fatigue and more work and more work and more work and-
Innocence and wide eyes, he sees the world like a small child. Colours and shapes and simplicity. A comfortable, easy lie. Sure, he has his moments, anybody at his age would, but his persistence breeds progress. He’s sort of like a puppy, really.
She’s just so… pure. And warm. She’s like a safe haven, a place to feel welcomed and protected and wanted. Hair like a cherry blossom and eyes like the sky they grow below. Her voice is soft, reassuring, and reminds me of a cup of hot chocolate after a long day.
A heavy blade but a heart of gold, he’s a picture of romance and charisma. Natural charm, sleek and beautiful. What else could you want from a man? He’s a sweetheart really, very kind hearted. If they could there’d be a whole lot of people bowing at his feet. Not that he’d ever want that flattery.
Everything just feels so new to him. He doesn’t quite understand anything that’s happening and he feels lost. He just wants guidance, someone to hear his desperate cries for help, but there’s always no response. There’s never anybody there to help him, to hold his hand and show him what to do. He’s scared, and he’s fully accepted it at this point.
Those that were forgotten? Or otherwise discarded? Oh, don’t you worry about them. I’m sure you’ll find them somewhere else. They’re around. Most of them at least.
