Basically, they were partners in both a professional and romantic sense but then one of them had an accident, blamed it on the other (unfortunately he was kind of correct) and then instead of dealing with it normally and moving on, he launched a four year long revenge plot against his ex. This is the culmination of all that-what is essentially their divorce.

I recently got to see the 2023 revival of Sweeney Todd and I wanted gush about Annaleigh Ashford as Mrs Lovett. She brought a lot of energy and spunk to the role, and she also had that vicious edge to her behind her humor too. She was just so delightful.

i thoroughly enjoy how in a little priest in the 2023 revival, sweeney and mrs. lovett sound like they actually tolerate each other, and it makes me kind of happy tbh
tbh i can go on and on about what tim burton did right in the movie and just how much he also did so wrong, same w johnny depp. i love them both but i have officially been converted to favoring the 2023 revival.
