Help I just read Baiheng's Parenting and why am I getting so curious what happened to that one PTA meeting with that one mother she punched—
Imagine if the woman did try to report this to the General though—that'd be so funny XD
One day, I will write about Baiheng and the fights she had with the PTA parents.
To the old nobility, Yanqing is not of any important bloodline. Yes, he is adopted into the family but to old families who value blood relations above everything else, Yanqing is viewed as something akin to a usurper. The old nobility are not the richest nor do they hold the same immense political power they had before. During the Civil War, they lost a lot of status and Jing Yuan's ascension to the Seat of Divine Foresight did not make it easier on them. Their feelings towards Yanqing are a mixture of discrimination towards his birth and their delusions of a lost, but glorious past.
At the PTA meeting, a mother belonging to a noble family had the gall/stupidity to say around Baiheng "It's bad enough that child is held to the same rank as us but for him to go to the same school as well, the Alliance truly has fallen. Who knows what a loathsome child will do to our society? I say it's best to get rid of him."
Had she said it within the comforts of her home or the old noble factions, no one would've batted an eye. However, she was stupid enough to say it when Baiheng was in the room and her Foxian hearing is much better than humans or Vidyadhara.
Within seconds of her saying that, she was immediately on her floor, a painful bruise on her right cheek. No amount of screaming and threats could make Baiheng regret what she did and she absolutely did not regret it.
"Go on then, you can fight back if you want. Or you can even go and report what happened to the Cloud Knights, where you can repeat what you said about Yanqing to the General instead."
If the woman was stupid enough to actually go to the General to lodge a complaint, she would be thrown in jail for threatening harm to a member of the General's family.
Lady: General, please help me! Lady Baiheng attacked me out of nowhere. Look, she struck me so hard my face is bruised.
Jing Yuan: *already knows what happens but wants to see how long this can be dragged out* I am so sorry to hear that. How can the Seat of Divine Foresight help you?
Lady: Well, you can do something about Lady Baiheng. Throw her in jail or exile her! She hit me! I am a noble. I come from a distinguished family.
Jing Yuan: I see. Might I ask what led up to this?
Lady: I was just talking with the other parents. I have no idea what led to her assaulting me
Jing Yuan: What exactly were you talking about?

hcq lore doesnt compute. why does yanqing recognize dan heng and why isnt dan heng like a couple centuries old and why does jingliu recognize yanqing . ????????
#jingliu was exiled wayyy wayyyy long ago wasnt she????#and then dan feng was imprisoned for a while before his molting rebirth but it couldnt have been for long???#how long do vidyadharas stay in their eggs????#i can see jing yuan being around a century or so old when the hcq stuff goes down#it would mean yingxing would be younger than him but blade DOES say that jing yuan used to be pretty arrogant himself#so maybe older in years but younger/immature#so that would put jingliu at like 800-1000 yrs old baiheng at ~300 yrs old yingxing anywhere from 30 to 50#jing yuan 100-200 yrs old and dan fengs age doesnt really matter beyond the fact that he was at least younger than 700 yrs old#jingliu says that the hcq promised to have a drink together 7 centuries ago so the hcq stuff happened 700 yrs ago#putting jing yuan at around 800 yrs old currently and jingliu is like nearly 2000#blade is about 700+ yrs old and has died by jingliu and dan hengs hands multiple times over the course of those years#but if dan heng was only released like. recently. then theres no way thats true and blade was able to terrorize him so thoroughly#in just one or two meetings. dan heng literally has nightmares abt the guy#so anyway what im getting at is that jingliu shouldnt recognize yanqing and yanqing shouldnt recognize dan heng

Weird lil pet peeve of mine is when ppl draw jing yuan as an actual child in high cloud quintet yrs bc of that one throwaway line in blade’s character story that calls him a “boy” and a “youth” when he got Starfall Reverie
#it’s either a poor translation or a weird choice from cn writers (zero clue what is said in cn haven’t cared enough to dive that deeply) but#we clearly see jing yuan as a grown ass man w the quintet#and yingxing quite simply did not live long enough for jy to have aged from child to man#the timeframe between that ‘boy’/‘youth’ description and the pics we see of adult jing yuan w the quintet can’t be more than like 40/50 yrs#which is not enough time for jy to have grown from child to adult we Know that takes like 500 yrs for xianzhou natives#I doubt we’ll get full confirmation but imo evidence points to him being like early 20s equivalent during the quintet#pattering on the roof

you and yingxing were having a “skincare” night (its what you called it) because kafka suggested it as a good bonding experience for you both. having literally no time for each other because of missions made you both frustrated, especially blade. so now is the time to relax in your lover’s company.
as much as ren found it embarrassing… he couldnt say no to you. now he found himself flustered, waiting for you to put the clay mask on his face while he burnt bright red.
“(name), do i really have to put on this cat… headband?” blade sighed in a flustered mess.
“do you not wanna match with me?” you pouted cutely at him. faking the sadness so that he would leave it on.
“i-i didnt say that. ugh stop pouting, youre making it difficult for me. tsk I’ll wear this as long as you take no pictures love.”
you decided to sneak pictures anyway. you both ended up relaxing in each other’s company, blade being extra clingy and cuddly tonight. you both knew it made him feel better and blade will definitely do this again. especially with you.

I think my personal favourite jingren headcanon is of yingxing and jing yuan growing up together. but yingxing outpaces jing yuan so quickly, and he's hitting his 40s, then his 50s, his 60s while jy is forever frozen in his thirties, watching someone who used to only have a year or so on him become an old man so much faster than he could have ever imagined
he expects to watch yingxing die, and he expects to have to continue living and learn to move on. then everything happens and yingxing (now blade) is no longer able to die, and somehow that feels worse

photographer yingxing is single. TERRIBLY SINGLE. and he can tell and freaking see the tension between dan heng and the reader and he knows he KNOWS they are THIS CLOSE—THIS CLOSE—from like either fighting on set or making out he honestly cannot tell at this point
he can’t tell because dan heng would make calls and lets say a quarter of those calls would be to talk about the job and if he’s had a shoot with the reader, half of the time dan heng goes “god, they are so annoyingly pretty!!” yingxing who is like cooking while on call goes: “are you dissing them or is this a compliment???”
yingxing has watched dan heng fall in and out of love and also get roped into some love sitch with a bunch of other people but goddamn, this petty rivalry has been going on for some time already and he is sick of dan heng not being able to see that maybe he has feelings for them 😳
all of this was proven when reader visits yingxing and they both have drinks together and yingxing pops the question of “do you really not like dan heng?”
they answer with a little tipsy flourish. “dan heng? that insufferable, handsome diva of a model?” yingxing laughs while taking that drink which is just some cold oolong tea because it’s clear that he’s the one driving back.
“i don’t hate him, i think he’s…really good at what he does. i admire him a lot.” they tell yingxing with a whisper. “i’m honored to be working with dan heng a lot. him being handsome is just an added bonus. he is such a bitch sometimes, though.”
so you don’t hate him, yingxing nods, relieved as he added that to the list because its clear they both respect each other but he has that inkling of a feeling—it could just be a little more than that.
unless you both are just faking the chemistry, who knows? ╮(╯▽╰)╭
cue in yingxing nearly dropping his camera when he sees dan heng getting coffee for them and being a lot more relaxed than before.
yingxing has to laugh. something must have happened after that night you both drank together because, girl? why is he hearing from the crew that dan heng’s been like this for weeks now?!
yingxing has the front row seat to the banter that does not have its usual bite, and he takes their pictures together. its almost like pda its embarrassing
what the fuck is going on, yingxing shuts his mouth and takes the pictures. he’ll never let both of them live this down.

and if you have a pet? yingxing is floored, the pet is now also his child by proxy. the pet loves yingxing more than you whenever he comes over
if you aren’t photogenic or have difficulty posing for photos, he will 100% guide you while taking them, he’s like 50% work mode 50% flirting and its so cute
he loves the silly blurred and candid 0.5 silly photos he takes with you the ones where it looks like a backrooms jumpscare with how close his eyes and forehead are to the lens. he has those saved! and they are soooo funny to look back to
he definitely has morning photos of you, its one of his favorite photos with you where you’re wearing his shirt and sleepily rubbing your eyes as you tell him good morning.
if you’re interested in photography or are also a photographer, god it gets better—you both talk about anything under the sun. Clients, equipment, tricks and maybe, gossip? yingxing is embarrassed to have his photo taken by you because he isn’t used to being the one under the lens but he trusts you to guide and direct him

omg jing yuan !! as soon as i met him i knew he was gonna be a fav of mine, and his deal with the finches just sold it. i really love his cn va. he was also really fun to play as for that little stint he was part of your party, i got the awakened dan heng card Right before that final battle which felt perfect and now they have this guy and im like i NEED him his mechanic lags my entire laptop. the xianzhou luofu has been very fun to get to know so far, i do love what dan heng/dan feng and jing yuan have going on, and i guess blade is part of that? i love edgy characters but ironically he's felt like the most boring of the cast so far... but that means i still have two of the quintet yet to meet i think! i cannot guess who theyd be right now. the timelines theyre working with are so funny to me like i guess dan hengs supposed to be 700 years old but also still a teenager? being eternally 17 sounds like some horrific curse. which im still not entirely sure of what he did but that seems undeserved. speaking of which reincarnating (?) and then ending up befriending someone who looks more than passingly like your old life's old friend (the trailblazer and jing yuan's visual similarities are a coincidence im sure but its funny to me) is such a neat concept i hope they touch on. + SEELE AND BRONYA!! they were an amazing part of that storyline i want them on my team so bad. I just got the missions to go back and see whats up with them so i'll have to check it out... when i first continued the story to get to the xianzhou seele was visiting and i thought the game would make her disappear after the warp but she was still there... i was like we've taken this kid 500 million light years away from her home planet we've committed a crime here. and i thought dan heng was like in his early 20s??? but none of it rly gets explained so KFDJKDG we do know viyadhara when they reincarnate become children again and then age up before they go through the whole egg-reincarnating thing again. but like in his prev life he was several decades old and looked the same anyway, yet blade/yingxing at the time was like. an old man (the only "mortal" among them 😭). and then baiheng and jingliu were around the same age as jing yuan? wait actually jingliu is older since she's his master but yeah. it IS interesting to see how their dynamic has shifted tho but you'll see (if you havent gotten to that part yet in any case, i think if you finished the tingyun/emanator of destruction part you should've already known abt most of this due to companion quests!)
also YEAH KDFJHKJFDGD it's so funny that characters from different planets can visit the astral express even when they're not on/near their home planet like oh... i guess we kinda abducted you, lol. although, hey, look at it like this: you can show them entire fields of grass or something which they don't have on their home world...! (and obvi you can just take them back to their home world in a snap 😌)
also my weekend was great!! went to a film festival and talked to friends and had a good time overall fdkjghfkjdg idk if i already said this but saw zhu yilong on screen twice (!!) and also met the director of the movie he was in it was super fun <3 def needed that lol

First meeting: I am the former incarnation of that friend of yours, Imbibitor Lunae. You may address me as Dan Feng, though I do not foresee that our paths will cross often in the future.
Greeting: What is it that you require of me? Speak freely.
Parting: Safe travels.
About Self: Every title has a duty to uphold, and as every sin committed has a personal price to pay. It is the natural order of this world and I aim to uphold it.
Chat (Sins): As he may have recounted to you in brief, I have committed the highest order of sin and many have paid the price for my folly. I cannot bring back what is lost, and neither can I change the outcome. However, I can only embrace my sins and serve the sentence in full and proper.
Chat (Duty): As a high elder, my duties were far too long for your curiosity and time. However, as of my current duty, I will serve to repay of which I have stolen .. and ensure that such losses will not occur in future under my intervention.
Hobbies: Reading is a favourite pastime of mine. There is an enchanting illusion behind losing oneself into the novel and reborn anew amongst the story unfettered.
Something to share: The flesh of my kind are cold but at times, I ponder on the sensation of having warmth running through my veins instead. Hmph ... A mere needless wonderment that is out of my reach.
Annoyances: I was told by an old friend that my struggles in connecting to the hearts of humans .. is why many are not inclined to look upon me with that identity. Hm ? I should smile more ? I find no rationale in doing so unless a situation calls for it. For example, there is a time when Jing Yuan once called Yingxing a ' sword ' by accident.
Knowledge: The horns of vidyadhara are draconic in nature and a source of our power are sealed within them. However, if you touch them, a 50 years long curse will follow you.
About Jing Yuan: Despite his indolent attitude, he can achieve anything he sets to do meticulously well and stands akin to a sun amongst not only the cloud knights but also, the Luofu. My actions have led him to carry some of the burden alone but ... no longer.
About Blade: We were once good friends and our bond thicker than water itself. I dare not imagine the same can be said for the present times. As you know, he holds a grudge against me because of the torment that ensued after, and I welcome the justice he seeks from me.
About Bailu: ... The outcome did not unveil as I expected. It was not what I was taught. Even so, she does not see me with eyes of contempt, even after knowing I was her predecessor that set the new course of her life.
About Jingliu: *sigh* Of all people, she holds the most contempt towards what my decision have costed a beloved friend of ours and what it had forced her to do .. and subsequently lose. I wonder what is it that she seeks now.
About Dan Heng: The next incarnation of mine. Unfortunately, my sins are far too great for him to carry upon his shoulders alone and hence the branch of succession must be split from hereon. It seems as though space travels does suit him better.
About Yanqing: Jing Yuan's young apprentice marks a semblance to Jing Yuan's younger days that I first mistook him as his son. But such familial terms need not be bound by only blood now, is there ?
About Fu Xuan: The powers of divination are not one to be underestimated, though its fullest potential can only be realized depending on the eye that welcomes it. not as truth that should be embraced at all cost, but a secret that requires the perfect timing, patience and hands to shape the future.

“Prologue: From the Start”
Yingxing stepped into the Xianzhou off of the merchant vessel he somehow got on, looking up to the artificial blue sky as his navy hair blew in the wind. He had come here on a whim after his home planet was destroyed by the borisin.
He was a short-life species, an outlier among the long-life species that reside in the Xianzhou, but he didn't care.
Yingxing started to explore the Xianzhou to get a feel for what might be his new home when he was bumped into, stumbling backwards a bit. Yingxing blinked some, his dull, light blue eyes landing on the person who stumbled and fell to the ground.
“I’m so sorry!” they exclam, picking up the paper they dropped. They seemed young, young for a Xianzhou native at least, that being maybe about 50, a young teenager.
“It’s no issue,” Yingxing replies, helping them up. Once they look up, their eyes widen.
“You- you're the short life species coming to live here that everyone's talking about!” They say excitedly. Yingxing quirks an eyebrow.
“Yes.. that's me, what about it?”
“Oh! Wait, what's your name? Mine’s [name]!” Yingxing is puzzled by [name]’s excitement. He's got odd looks from the other natives, so why does this one show interest in him?
“I'm Yingxing, but why-” he was cut off by [name] and their excited rambling.
“Yingxing! What a cool name.. Ooo! You look like you'd like the art of craftsmanship!!” Yingxing blinked, trying to wrap his head around the natives’ words.
“Craftsmanship.. like weapon making?” he inquires. [name] gives an enthusiastic nod. Yingxing crossed his arms, glancing down at the Xianzhous ground. “Show me then, [name],” he looks back up and smiles, his navy hair blowing in the wind with the natives'. “ ‘m interested.”
After showing Yingxing to the Artisanship Commission, he joined as an apprentice under the guidance of Master Huaiyan. He had vowed to avenge his home and family by making weapons for the Cloud Knights. He quickly became well known for his astounding craftsmanship.
Later on, Yingxing met Baiheng when she was sent to a delegation to request reinforcements from the ship for Yaoqings Crane Feather Orbit Fleet. They were fighting the borisin, and in present time, Yingxing was helping Baiheng with receiving the delegation and taking them to his master — Huaiyan — at Flamedisk Forge Palace.
“Soo~” Baiheng cooed cheerily, walking beside Yingxing as they made their way on the Zhuming. “What got you interested in the Artisanship Commission? You're a short-life species, so I'm curious,” the foxian asks. Yingxing sighs.
“A kid named [name]. They disappeared after I joined,” he replied, looking over to Baiheng.
“Oh! I know [name]! Almost all of the Zhuming people do, they're an aspiring writer and a good people analyzer,” Baiheng says. “Seems they were pretty accurate with you, little Yingxing, no?” she smiles, finishing her sentence, fox ears twitching.
“I suppose, though I believe I would've found the Artisanship Commission on my own,” Yingxing replies with a sigh as they finally make it to their destination.
“Baiheng!” someone called out. The two turn around and see [name], who halts their movements and smiles. “And Yingxing too! How's it been for you in the Commission?” they inquire, smiling. Yingxing shrugs.
“It’s been pretty fun, I suppose,” he replies. [name] nods politely at him, their smile growing, and they then turn their attention to Baiheng. Yingxing watches on as he crosses his arms with a faint smile. He liked these two, maybe more so than he knows for now.
Yingxing remained on the Xianzhou for some years, Baiheng and [name] sticking with him. They were a little trio, and later on, the Sword Master of the Luofu — Jingliu — had befriended the three and introduced them to her apprentice — Jing Yuan.
They hung out as a friend group for about a year more, and in that time, they had managed to befriend the Vidyadhara High Elder, Dan Feng, and had made a name for themselves after a while. The High Cloud Quintet.
Bellowing laughter rang out through Scalegorge Waterscape as the clink of small shot glasses came together. Yingxing, Dan Feng and [name] we're having some drinks together, though Dan Feng was more stoic as he took his shot with his friends.
The others were chatting on their own, Jingliu and Baiheng having their own shots together. The entire Quintet was close, but Yingxing, Dan Feng and [name] were especially close, so much so they had matching jewelry.
Yingxing has the long, red earring on his left ear, Dan Fengs in his right ear, and [name]s on a necklace. The three often drank and sparred together with themselves and the others, much like now.
“Guys!!” [name] calls out to the others, setting down their small shot glass and running over to the other three as they turn around. The foxians ears swiveled to the nosie as she turned around.
“What is it, [name]?” Baiheng asks. Yingxing and Dan Feng walk up behind their friend as they explain their ideas they commonly do.
